After contacting the manager, my review has changed. Now when I order I make sure to tell them to double cook my fries and now they are always hot and crunchy and not cold and soggy. The food and service has turned around and I’m back to being a major fan of this place. Burgers are hot and fresh now and service is so much better and faster! WTG guys!

The Burger Joined is where burgers get married. The Burger John is a place where people that hire hookers can eat and talk about their experiences and their STDs. The Burger Gets High On A Joint is in also, um, in Amsterdam. So if The Burger Joint of Syracuse teamed up with Allen Burger Venture of Buffalo, would that become a Joint Venture? Ha? Ha? Ha? Nobody? OK Nobody. What to get: regular burger with a salad instead of fries. Cute little place. I made a phone order, they were great about it. Nice service. At the time I thought it was a really good burger, but since then I found out what really good burgers are, and so it’s no longer as high on my «list of amazing burgers» as it once was. In fact it doesn’t even achieve that 5 star. It’s a tiny bit overpriced for what it is, too. Not sure what’s with all the awful reviews, though. I feel bad for the place. Almost want to give them a 5th star out of pity… but I have to be honest. It’s a 4-star burger, not 5. When I first came here, and loved it, it was called Laci’s. That made the burgers taste kind of sexier. Don’t you think Laci would taste better than a Joint? Well, of course, now that they dropped Laci, I dropped them to a 4. What are you going to do about it. If you know Laci, have her get in touch pls. I still have her frilly lingerie in my hamper. Oh no it’s nothing like that, silly. It just got accidentally put in my to-go bag and I washed it for her.

Food has always been good but very poor delivery service … Ideally pay the Tip once the food arrives then you can probably get away with Tip in case it arrives late … which is most of the time… They definitely need to improve on providing better delivery…

Let’s just say I can walk here from my house in 3 minutes but I would rather walk to 7 – 11 and get microwavable white castle burgers because they have more flavor.

Had the DXN burger and a creamsicle shake. Burger was a bland mess. Creamsicle shake was just boring.

I walked into here skeptical because of the negative reviews, and walked out convinced they were right. The burger was bland and unhealthy looking grey, I could get a tastier one at mcdonalds and not pay seven bucks for it. Wasnt a fan of the sweet potato fries, so those were a no go. And the service, well the kid at the front counter acting like a miserable mump kind of bummed me out. Only decent part was that my pepsi was cold. Im all set here.

I had high expectations of this place since I love Laci’s Tapas Bar and they used to have the same owners. I ordered two Empire Burgers with sweet potato fries. As I sat at the counter and watched them making the burgers, which looked like they were store bought like the sweet potato fries were,(yes I saw them take a bag out of the freezer) all I could think about was Kitchen Nightmares. They gave me two containers of high fructose corn syrup to dip the fries in, or what it really tasted like, sweet jizz. The burgers were bland and were falling apart and dripping all over my hands. I’m overall very disappointed bc I really wanted to like this place. I live in Eastwood and want to support my community but I’d rather eat a McDonalds burger than eat here again.

Bummer. Pretty sure any of these positive reviewers have never had a «great burger». I was so ready to be blown out of the water but instead spent $ 30 on 2 «burgers», fries, and motz sticks. Burgers were preformed, tasted frozen, bacon made fast food bacon look delicious. On a positive note the fries were good and so were the motz sticks(aside from the cold marinara). You want a great burger and handmade fries? Check out five guys… Will not disappoint.

The food here was pretty good. About 3 for taste but the employees are so freakin nice i had to give it four stars. Maybe its because i eat simple burgers that the crazy burgers they make don’t appeal to me and therefore I’m missing out on their best. Who knows. Its worth tryin out though!

I waited over 20 mins for a cheeseburger and fries. The burger and fries were the greasiest ever. The burger was overcooked. I waited inside and it got so smoky I had to go outside and wait and it was 20 degrees outside.

I’m curious as to the experiences of the customers who give poor stars because I love this place. I’ve ordered from here about four times since discovering the place in September 2013 — twice delivery and twice dine in. First of all, the delivery can take some time but nothing too different than delivery from any other good food place. If you’re looking for a quick burger go to McDonalds. If you want food right away order Jimmy Johns. These are great unique burgers and they take a little time to get to you. Second, for the summer in Syracuse this place has a great little place to sit outdoors. Now most importantly, I love the burgers. They are BIG and you will not feel the price is too high for the amount of food you get. I get the fried pickles every time because they are great. I’ve had the Blues Burger, Empire, and Hot Mama. I’ve also tried the Urban. They are all very good but my favorite was the Empire… never thought I would enjoy apples on a burger but it was the perfect combo. Can’t wait to get back to Syracuse and have another.

I made the mistake of ordering the night that SU was playing basketball… everyone on gods green earth order too! The gentleman that makes the orders told me when I called to check to see where my order was, that he took care of SU hill orders first. he said he didnt want my food to go cold. I couldnt argue with his logic and I thank him ever so much. My burger was hot, juicy and delicious. Always number 1 in my book.

It is with a heavy heart that I update this review to a single star. I was a regular at the Burger Joint and got take out from here almost every day. But a year ago, it was sold and it has never been the same. Last fall, I went in thinking the new owner, who had worked for the old owners would have his act together. I tried twice and both times, left with no food after being told it would be a long wait and that I should«call ahead». We managed to get food one night and it was ok but not great but I’d taken them out of lunch rotation. I decided to give them another shot today and ordered the«Shot Clock». The«roasted chicken» came out of the freezer and got zapped to thaw it out. The owner threw a few bits of cheese, one red pepper strip and some very brown lettuce into my wrap, grilled it for about 30 seconds and with a bare hand grabbed it off the grill. I should have refused it right then and there but I’m usually willing to make the best of things and rarely complain about my food. When I got home, I found the inside of the wrap was ice cold, the guac was gray and the pasta salad was so slimy I didn’t dare taste it. I nibbled on a bite of cold rubbery chicken and pitched the whole thing into the trashcan and went to McDonald’s for a grilled chicken wrap. Maybe the burgers are still good but I won’t be back anytime soon to try one.

Ordered delivery, it took an hour and 45 minutes to arrive. When the driver arrived(campus building) they were unable to follow the directions I had provided, which another delivery driver from another place had previously had no trouble with whatsoever. When calling for clarification, the driver was rude to me on the phone. Additionally, the cheddar cheese option for burgers is squeeze cheese. No thank you. Go to Five Guys.

We have not visited since Oct and decided to visit yesterday 3÷2÷13. The place was filled with smoke from the grill. Not a hello, only the owner and guy on the grill and kind of expected. We ordered a Chick panini and a Chick burger. The prices on Unilocal are not reflecting the prices at time of ordering. Order take, 15 – 20 mins, no problem. I got a hot mess of a sandwich with the turkey looking like it came out of a package. It was not pressed long enough, so of course there was a mess that was tasteless and very bland, despite the supposed cranberry mayo for flavor. I only ate half. Sweet potato fries were small, short stubbles, still crispy. My husband burger was just okay. We had to ask for his bacon as they forgot. No sides offered as they come with the sandwiches. What a disappointment! One guy behind the grill that apparently was slammed with phone orders don’t work and food preparation, flavor, quality, presentation suffer… Big Time!!! We will look for a burger some place else next time. Reviewed on 10÷16÷12 A fan of this place! My husband was craving a burger and I found this joint right here on Unilocal.A tiny place, few tables, the counter and plenty of outside seating. We sat on the counter and grabbed a menu. They offer burgers, panini sandwiches, soup, salads and smoothies. The Chick caught my attention. I didnt even look at the rest of the menu but the nice delivery guy pointed out that they also have the Chick as a panini with sliced turkey. I was so happy because I really would have loved w turkey instead of a turkey burger. My husband decided to have the SunnyCrest after he wanted a burger. Roasted chicken, bacon, provolone, lettuce, tomato and Ranch dressing? ah, yum! We got sweet potato fries, and onion rings, which were awesome. I love the cranberry mayo on my Chick was to die for… Friendly staff, owner. We loved it liked it and will be back often. PS the panini bread bread was awesome nice, toasted to perfection, a crunch in every bite. =)

So hearing so many positive reviews about this place i ordered the following: 2 Orange Creamsicle $ 7.40 1 Power Punch Smoothie $ 3.70 1 Urban Cowgirl Burger $ 7.94 2 Urban Cowgirl Burger $ 23.82 — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — TOTAL $ 39.72 Now let me start out by saying im usually one to have an open wallet when it comes to fast food however in this case i found there burgers wayyy too pricey for my taste but thinking i would be impressed i went ahead and ordered everything. One thing i must admit the delivery was unusually fast it arrived within 10mins or order, which is impressive for a local burger joint. However once i received the burgers i figured for almost $ 40 i would be expecting a quarter pounder or something unfortunately that wasn’t the case. The Creamsicle shake smelled like a ‘orange & cream’ ice-cream bar however it tastes as it was artificial flavoring and very bland, no noticeable taste and little to no sugar so it wasnt even sweet it sort of remind me of taking vanilla ice cream and crushing it with ice-cubes in the blender. The burgers, well as i stated above i was not impressed at all, for that price the burger could have been much bigger, perhaps even stacked instead i received a sloppy burger with the basic bacon, lettuce & tomatoes and some ranch dressing it also included crushed beans which was a plus on my part however upon delivery the sauces were smeared all over the place. Needless to say out of $ 40 which i could have spent on 2 large pizzas that would have lasted for 2-days i was stuck with a burger the size of a $ 1 McChicken from mickey-deez and some really good mustard, im not kidding there homemade mustard dip was the best other than that def. not worth it also the sweet-potato fries were okay but could have been better. I will definitely not be ordering again, apart from the fast delivery all i enjoyed was the ‘mustard-dip’. next time id rather go to BK or any other burger joint.

Had the Blue Burger, which has blue cheese, carmelized onions, lettuce, and tomato. It wasn’t the greatest burger in the world, but it wasn’t bad. I don’t know if you can request the doneness of your burger, but mine was pretty overcooked. Had it been less dried out, it would have been pretty good I imagine. The fries were good. Hot and crispy, but not burned. They may need a little salt, but a little less salt won’t kill you(it might have the opposite effect actually). $ 7 for a half pound burger and a good amount of fries is pretty good. I’ll be back to try a couple different burgers. It’s nice that they deliver, but the 4PM close on Saturdays is tough.

This business is no longer owned by the people who operated it as Laci’s Burger Joint. I ate there a few days ago and, although the burgers were very good, the supposed«Crab Bisque» did not have the flavor or texture of a real bisque and was made with fake crab. The soup was so mediocre(had almost no flavor) that neither my GF or I made it past a few spoonfuls. When the burgers arrived we asked the counter server to remove that uneaten soup and suggested they might mention to the owner what our problem with the soup was — why we didn’t eat it. The server did speak to the owner — who was operating the grill. He shrugged his shoulders and went back to work. I was not looking for a refund or a replacement — but would have appreciated the courtesy of an acknowledgment. None was forthcoming and when I stopped on our way out to POLITELY tell the owner that we would not be returning and why… his response was a flippant«I’ll keep that in mind.» There are plenty of places in Syracuse where i can spend my $ 25(or less) on two burgers, some sweet potato fries, two cups of soup and a couple of diet Cokes. The Burger Joint will not be one of them until or unless they change owners. I wish Unilocal offered the option to rate a place with zero stars.
