Go to the ER on a Wednesday at 4pm. I was whisked in straight away and taken very good care of by my nurse and the attending PA. They were both very friendly, did a great job, and did their best to get me taken care of in short order. I was pleasantly surprised by my experience at the St. Joe’s ER.

This is certainly my favorite hospital(If I had to pick one). This is where my son was born and where I always go. The nurses/doctors are top notch and the café isn’t too shappy either!

What a joke of an ER! Vitals, registration and six hours waiting. Wasted time. No thank you!

The Emergency Room at St. Josephs is run like a delicatessan — take a number and wait your turn — for hours. After they get your billing information they have no interest in providing any patient care. The staff were like robots — no eye contact, no empathy and no compassion whatsoever. Their treatment of me borderlined negligience. I was brought in by a friend and waited for hours in severe pain while they took people on what looked like first come first serve basis. I have had just had gastric bypass surgery and had been having severe abdominal pain already for a few hours. I was not seen for 4 hours — 2 in the general wating room and 2 in a «triage» room. After a phlebotimist took a blood sample I was ignored for hours. Not one nurse even turned her head to look in on me. Appalling care and certainly not what I expected from St. Josephs. It turned out to be a kidney stone but I feel that given the area of pain and the recent bypass I should have received care much sooner than I did. When a nurse and then a doctor finally did see me I was given a cursory exam and sent on my way. It looks like I have another kidney stone but if urgent care is necessary I won’t going back to St. Joseph’s. Unfortunately this is not the first time this has happened. I went once before 10 years ago for a kidney stone and was left unforgotten for hours in a back room. I know I was forgotten because the nurse who happened upon me said so. My mother also waited in the ER for hours having a heart attack so this seems to be there general standard of care.
