Southern homestyle or soul food… it doesn’t matter what you want to call it, it’s just yummy. My mom was from the south so I grew up eating collards, cornbread, fried okra, fried chicken, etc. And I’ve tried a couple of so-called soul food restaurants in my life. I’ve never been that impressed. Sharon’s food is good, real and homemade. Her collards are wonderful. Really, I would have been content to have a huge bowl of collards with a hunk of cornbread to soak up the juice. I brought a friend for lunch, and the next day I went back with my husband for dinner. So far we’ve tried the cornbread, fried okra(very yummy), black-eyed peas, collards(excellent), string beans, fried fish, and smothered chicken dinner in a wonderful onion gravy. We loved it all and want to go back to try more. Sharon’s daughter is the waitress, and she’s really delightful, personable and attentive. Sharon takes the time to come out of the kitchen to meet her customers and chit-chat. Please make the trip, you won’t be disappointed.
