This restaurant is pretty tasty and the service was ok. We went two times here recently. One time for a standard dinner and the other time for Korean bbq. The first time i had a standard chicken teriyaki which wasn’t too shabby and my wife had chambong(mispelled). She said hers was great. As for the Korean bbq… i was beyond disappointed. While the meat was good quality and had zero flavor or seasoning. Other than just meat. That may be their thing but for 70 $ for two people i want more. In NYC the beef always has some sort of flavoring such as subtle sweetness or spiced. I would give this place a 3 star on taste but since the waiter was so great with the Korean bbq it gets a 4.

It’s a «Korean-Japanese» restaurant that also serves Thai and Korean/Chinese food… I guess up here there’s no niche so they have to try to cater to everyone to stay afloat. With that grind said I think it would be extremely difficult to truly be absolutely great at everything and therefore just eh. Parking can be difficult but you have the next lot over for overspill. It’s located next to the Korean supermarket which just has the basics.(Don’t expect HMART from NYC/NJ) Wait time– went on Saturday night seemed like few tables were empty but they weren’t cleaned right away so we were left standing there waiting till someone was able to clean off the tables. Convenient they had a bucket of $ 15 wines which some I think maybe valued more than that which was a nice offering. Once seated the waiters brought water and hot tea with utensils and side dishes which were quite basic. Menu: extremely extensive they even had loose laminated pages… Like stated earlier… Korean. Japanese. Chinese. Thai food. It was just too much but lucky for me in this instance since I had a major craving for Beef Tang Soo Yuk and JaJangMyun(Chinese) and my husband had JamPoong– the beef tang soo yuk wasn’t as «pineapple» like as I would have preferred, the jajangmyun was almost just bland. The JamPoong though was super flavorful and spicy just the way my husband and I prefer it! I had to ask the waiter for yellow radish to go along with my meal. The price is avg for a Korean restaurant in this area, but they have signs up saying ½ price sushi on Mon and Wed. We’ll be back again and hopefully we can find something that blows us away!

My wife, kids and I are always treated well and the food is amazing! As stated by other Unilocalers, the Japanese and Thai cuisine is good, but the Korean cuisine is top notch! We always receive our food in a timely manner and always have waitstaff stopping by to see if we need anything else, but not doing so too often. Admittedly, the place was not that great on our first visit, but after some adjustments were made, it is now one of favorite go-to places.

This place is great. I really enjoyed everything. The sweet pickled daikon they put on the table is fantastic. The people working there were particularly friendly to us. The layout is very comfortable and it was easy to find seating at around 7 pm. Overall I recommend the place. The grocery next door was owned by the same people and they were particularly friendly too.

They do a decent job, there is even vegetarian options! I appreciate that they do not over-sweeten their dishes(like some other Asian restaurants do). I like their vegetable tempura, fried calamari, spring rolls, soups, and tofu dishes. Haven’t tried their sushi yet!

Went for lunch on Veteran’s Day, which was also half-price sushi day. It was a mob scene. We sat and waited for a long while after being seated, when a harried, sweaty waiter came to take our order. Midway while speaking with us, he ran off, unexpectedly to speak to the chef. when he returned had to start our order all over again, kind of like Groundhog Day. I should have taken the advice of a fellow Unilocaler who advised against having the sushi. The food was mediocre but plentifull. I had a sushi bento box which included a large helping of salad, Edamame in the pods, two dumplings, A few slices of an interesting fruit or vegetable, not sure what it was, and tasteless sushi. The staff was noisy and inattentive. While we were eating a woman came to the next table to clear it with a cart full of dirty dishes. She proceeded to loudly throw the dirty dishes into the cart from the table. The place could use a sprucing up. I don’t think I’ll be returning.

Absolutely the best spot for half price Sushi on Monday and Wednesdays! Huge portions and great prices. As for the rest of the menu, the Korean is great! My Bi Bim Bap is always delicious and is basically two full meals. The KBBQ is awesome, too. Service can be slow if it’s busy, so I wouldn’t go in a rush, but it’s totally worth it!

I probably come here at least a Monday or Wednesday every week for the half priced sushi. Great Korean food and the sushi is fresh and delicious. And $ 5.99 soju? You can’t beat that! Make sure when ordering sushi to ask for the bon chon or they won’t bring it to you.

Half price sushi! OMG — they don’t skimp on the sale days of Wed & Monday– It was wonderful. AND the sale encompasses a huge menu of goodies. The tuna & squid were exceptional!!!

Outstanding in every way. Generous portions, piping hot so that you know it has been freshly cooked, varied menu, moderately priced. My first of what I am sure will be many visits to this amazingly understated but delicious restaurant !

This place was wonderful. I loooove Korean food, I love spicy food and ddeokbokki is one of my favorite Korean street foods. Their ddeokbokki hit my craving right on the spot! I ordered it for an appetizer for my friends and I, it was their first time eating Korean food. They all enjoyed it and it was fun watching them truly enjoy eating it! A couple of us ordered bibimbap for our meal and a couple ordered jabchae for their meal. While waiting for our food they brought miso soup! It was honestly one of the best miso soups I’ve had. Better than my moms almost ha. My bibimbap came and I got it in the hot bowl and it made it extra delicious honestly. Not only was the food delicious but the atmosphere is awesome there. I enjoyed being with my friends there and introducing them to Korean food there!

Just returned from having dinner at Secret Garden. I wasn’t aware that tonight was half-off sushi day(available on Mondays and Wednesdays). I entered and the place was poppin’! Since it was only me, I was seated at the bar. Despite being so busy, my food didn’t take too much time(about 10 minutes for a rice cake app and three sushi rolls). I usually don’t eat much Korean food, so I wasn’t sure what to expect when I ordered the rice cake. The rice cake is sauteed with bell peppers, scallions, and onions in a spicy red sauce. It was delicious, however it was fucking spicy. Like real spicy(but of course I don’t have much tolerance for spicy Korean food). I drank the entire cup of water before my sushi came out. By then, I was nearly full(don’t you hate when that happens!!!). Moving onto the sushi, I had ordered the Bikini, Dragon, and Spicy Tuna. The Dragon was my favorite of the three, simply because the other two had spicy mayo on top(and this mothereffin mayo was spicy like nobody else’s business). So I drank a couple more glasses of water, and bloated up like a blowfish. I would definitely come back here and try some more sushi and the Korean cuisine. If don’t like spicy food, don’t get the freakin’ spicy mayo!

Suffering from a bit of an identity crisis, this is a Korean /Japanese /Thai restaurant, with a huge menu encompassing the cuisine of three countries. So it’s a bit of a hit or miss depending upon what you order. The Korean dishes that I’ve tried are good and some of the Thai dishes as well, but are not really authentic. My biggest complaint is the price. $ 15 for Kim chi fried rice is expensive, especially considering the looks of the restaurant(slightly better than a whole in the wall) and the portion size… tasty but expensive. So good for an occasional visit.

I couldn’t tell you what I ate since my best friend ordered for me, but it was outstanding. Some small dish with lots of veggies and rice with an egg on top(bibimbap I think?). It was still cooking when it came out! She said that the veggies in the dish change with whats available each season. I couldn’t have been more impressed and the staff was very friendly. My only complaint is the atmosphere. It’s very dark, unnecessarily so, and they are playing the local pop station quite loudly. I’ve heard good things about their half priced sushi, but I haven’t really tried it for myself. I’ll let you know the next time I go back ;)

I don’t have much experience with Korean food aside from what I have had in Syracuse so this 4-star rating may change in the future. This is my go to Korean place in Syracuse. Overall, the prices and portions are great especially if you come for lunch specials Mon-Fri. The food, I almost always get Bi Bim Bop is really good especially with their sauce. The service is lacking sometimes. Overall a nice restaurant to bring family and friends to. My recommendation: COMEHEREFORTHEBESTKOREAN in Syracuse.

This is a great Korean restaurant. Great vegetarian selection. The restaurant is very popular with Korean tour buses on the way to/from Niagara Falls. Excellent tofu dishes.

3 ½ stars. Being from the Washington DC area, I’m a bit spoiled when it comes to Korean restaurants, with so many good places. In Syracuse, there seems to be just two Korean restaurants. This place is where we go when we come up to Syracuse. Seems this area is home to more ethnic restaurants(we go to this really good Szechuan Chinese restaurant across the street) in Syracuse. I really like their gam ja tang and their yuk kwe jung soups. Their banchan is very limited though. They don’t do grill your own barbq(that’s offered in the other Korean restaurant) but their meats do come out well, even though it’s cooked in the kitchen. But the main star dish that tastes great is their beef fried rice. My young nieces just love it and is so tasty. Yum! The service when busy is almost nonexistent though and have to grabbed or go get waiters attention. When it’s not busy, service is much better of course. I recommend this restaurant for Korean cuisine as well as their sushi(they have a sushi bar too)!

Although you can’t beat half-price sushi, this place is really solid on the authentic Korean food. I’ve had a spicy seafood stew which was full of flavor and very filling, but I can’t stop ordering the bibimbap. They call it something else on the menu here, but it’s the hot stone pot with rice and mixed vegetables. It’s never failed to satisfy. Their banchan, although limited, is also delicious. I would love to see a wider variety of banchan!

I’ve been here a couple times and had lunch and sushi here. The atmosphere and décor here is average. Both times the service here was just plain awkward. There’s a language barrier and the servers don’t seem to be experienced much at all with casual dining. They’re nice and all, but need to be trained better. The food I received the first time, some orange chicken and rice, nothing fancy, was all right and tasted the same as a take out place. But whatever you do, dont order the sushi here. The sushi is terribly put together and sometimes falls apart when you pick it up. Also, the menu for half off Wednesdays is barely legible. Overall, the service is severely lacking and the food needs work, especially the sushi.
