So I got my snows put on here last year. I just now got a flat tire. First of all they didn’t put the tool to take off the plastic caps back in the car. Luckily I got them off with my car key. Then it took all of my strength to loosen four of the five lug nuts. The fifth has a locking lug nut on it. I used the key attachment for this lug nut, and it stripped. I tried this a couple time and couldn’t loosen it. The key is busted.
Why did this happen? Because they didn’t check the torque when they put the nuts back on. It’s a pretty basic thing. If I can’t trust them to do this then I can’t trust them to do anything more important.

I had a problem with one coil needing to be replaced. I had already taken it two different auto care places — one a big chain place and another private owner– both suggesting two different problems ranging from $ 650 – 780.
Here, the fixed the problem for $ 260 and it took only a few hours for them to figure out what was wrong and fix it. Kim, the manager, was extremely helpful!
They also replaced tires that I needed (and went in asking for) and showed me a variety of tire options in MY price range.
Being a younger woman, these places think they can rip me off because they believe I know nothing about cars. Its ridiculously sexist.
They broke down the price for me and worked with me on the price. I was not in a hurry, so I was not affected by the wait. Looking at previous reviews — I wonder if management has changed?
I will be going there from now on for everything.

Took my car to this Goodyear due to its convenient location. My car misfired and needed someone to check the spark plugs and ignition coil. Goodyear charged $ 110 just for the diagnosis. Then two hour later Goodyear called to tell me the «diagnosis» will cost an additional $ 464… bringing the total «diagnosis» cost to $ 611.70 (including taxes). This is just for the tech to figure out that one of my cylinder misfired. Goodyear had the car at 9am and was only available to release the car at 11:28am. It just doesn’t seem ethical to charge so much for the tech to figure out what I’ve told him was wrong with the car. (I have a diagnostic scanner)
So… convenience be damn… I ended up taking the car to a dealer 15 miles away. Brought the car in at noon, had a diagnostic at 12:45pm, and FIXED by 1:30pm. All for less than $ 100. The issues was with the ignition coil (as I’ve told Goodyear from the very beginning).
In the end, my car was fixed and I was out the superfluous $ 110 Goodyear initially charged but an entire day was wasted. For those reading this, if you have engine troubles… don’t come here. And by all means get a second opinion should they require you to pay for «further diagnosis»

I know exactly jack and squat about cars, so any time I have to take it into a shop there is a symphony of anxiety, inadequacy, and ignorance that plays in my head. I have had some of the worst customer service experiences in auto shops and I procrastinate remedying even simple issues for this reason.
Having recently moved to Syracuse, I asked a friend for her recommendation so that I could have a blown tail light fixed. Without hesitation, she told me to make an appointment at Goodyear and to ask for Paul, the GM. When I went in the next day, I was the first car that was dealt with in the morning. It was a fairly easy repair, so they were able to send me on my way in about a half hour.
The staff I interacted with were kind, professional, and not condescending (a common characteristic I have found in past mechanics). When it comes time for my next oil change, or any repair work, I know where I’ll be taking my car.

I took my car in for an oil change and general checkup a while ago. The staff was very courteous, got the work done quickly and everything was great. So today, when I pulled into a gas station and physically couldn’t put my car in park, first I freaked out a little, then I headed down to the Goodyear shop again. I called from my car and a couple guys came out and got under the hood to check my transmission and make sure nothing was wrong there, figured out that something was wrong with the gear shifter, and showed me how to get around the problem until I can get it to the dealership since my car’s still under warranty. Then they sent me on my way and didn’t charge me a cent. This has not been my typical experience with mechanics, they could have taken my car and tried to charge a bunch of money, but they were nothing but honest and helpful. I definitely recommend this place if you need your car serviced.

never going back again. awful customer service, repairs take forever, it’s expensive, and they always seem like they’re being shady. the only thing convenient about this place is the fact that it’s 2 blocks away from where i live. other than that, i would highly recommend going somewhere else.
