Cafe Kubal

I ordered the sweet potato with poached egg. It’s description sounds amazing, a sweet potato baked with poached egg inside. Topped with pico de gallo, Greek yogurt, and garnished with guac… Granted, I got this to go, but it was nothing like the description. I had a semi warm potato, HARD boiled egg, not poached whatsoever, and the guac was runny. I’ve had several opportunities to have the coffee here while traveling and it’s pretty good, but I don’t know why this was such a huge miss on the food.

Don’t understand why people go nuts over this company and their coffee. Actually got sick off of one. Could have just been an off day for someone there, but I will certainly give my patronage elsewhere lest I get sick again.
Other locations too have been very «meh», and almost never consistent in the products I have received. Several locations look like they are minutes away from closing and haven’t been cleaned or properly maintained in ages.

The best coffee/​espresso drinks in Syracuse. Literally the best. Very well made almond milk cappuccino and lattes. Baristas make drinks with care and attention. The drinks are almost better than Syracuse deserves.
Try the almond milk cappuccino and he almond latte. Also a great turmeric ginger tea.
This location of Kubal has the best drinks and is the smallest: nice but small and few tables.
A few overly loud customers make it hard to stick around for a 2^nd drink.
4 to 5 stars: all other cafes in central New York take note.

Excellent coffee and spot to take a break from the weather!

Super corner location, and great service. BUT… would you believe there is a La Marzocco high end espresso machine (impressive) just sitting on the counter that is just used only to warm cups and froth milk? Really? They pull shots from a $ 499 home Breville Machine from Williams and Sonoma that sits on another back counter. Next time I would just get a pour over.
So guys, spend the money to either get the machine fixed, or invest in a new one.

I was in Syracuse for a wedding and stopped in for some caffeine. The atmosphere was very welcoming, and my order was taken promptly.
I ordered a Caramel Latte with Almond Milk– really appreciate that non-​dairy alternatives were offered! The taste was great, not too sweet with a subtle hint of caramel.
I’m giving 4 stars because it was a bit pricey– close to six dollars for a small, but I don’t mind supporting a local business.

This is the original location. Local roaster. Yummy coffee. Cool atmosphere. The croissants are decent too.

A nice smallish coffee shop where I picked up an Americano and another coffee for someone else. I liked that I could add almond milk as an option. It was strong and perfect!

Great café in the Eastwood neighborhood. Friendly and engaging staff that consistently serves up great espresso when I’m at the end of my bike rides. Cozy interior and some outdoor seating make it a great stop.

I stop here on my way to work about 3:30 pm. Coffee is delicious, I grab a cup of dark. They offer a variety of both dairy and non dairy creamer, along with a full slate of hand crafted drinks.
All coffee is roasted locally, and beats the big box coffee place by miles (and flavor).
They serve a variety of food from breakfast items, energy bites, avocado cookies, and my fav– chocolate chip banana bread. Today’s amazing soup (among many veg/​vegan options) vegan kale white bean soup. Amazing every day.
Staff is awesome! Love these guys!

In Syracuse for an interview and stumbled upon Café Kubal. Super cute spot. I loved that they served lunch sandwiches for breakfast. That made me really happy and that they had tables and good service.
I would go back for sure.

My boyfriend is from Cali and I wanted to bring him to a nice cozy place where we could get some good coffee and hang out for Xmas eve. As we got there the line was long, but I heard there were a lot of good reviews about this place so we patiently waited. My boyfriend told me to grab seats since a couple decided to leave. I grabbed the seats while he waited in line. Eventually my boyfriend put our orders in. I ordered a small mocha and he ordered a small iced caramel latte. He stood over where you pick up the coffees but leaned against the wall since there were so many people coming back and forth grabbing napkins and their coffee. 15 mins had passed and everyone that ordered after him received their orders. I thought maybe the mocha was just taking really long to make!!! My boyfriend comes back and sits down and said maybe the lady is just making some food for the customer that was in front of us and will get to us soon. We waited for another 10 minutes and still nothing! I told my boyfriend they probably forgot about us and to go wait again. One of the random ladies that didn’t take our order asked us if we ordered anything?! Of course, the other lady who was taking care of us forgot to tell her associate about us. She was in the back working on something and totally forgot we ordered. We waited another 5 minutes to just get drinks. The mocha was alright. It had some nice heart design on it. The latte we ordered tasted decent. Nothing spectacular that should’ve taken over 30 mins to make. If you’re asking if I wold come back? Nope. I take costumer service very seriously and I felt that we were ignored. I understand they were busy, but not one of the three girls working bothered to even ask him if he needed help or if he ordered something. They just smiled and kept serving their other guests. Of course I love to support local areas with their business, but after my experience here I will never go back to café kubal. I’m giving them two stars because their service was terrible, although it was Christmas Eve. The design on the mocha was pretty but the taste of the coffees were not anything special. I shall search for other local coffee shops and try them out. In the meantime, Starbucks shall fulfill my coffee cravings for now.

Friendly service, great baked goods and excellent coffee. A delight and treasure in an otherwise grey syracuse.
The scent of roasted coffee wafts through the air as your eyes are drawn to the very inviting display of panini, cold drinks and baked goods.
I opted for the cappuccino which was rich and luxurious, with a delightful foam fern design that brought a smile to my face

My job requires me to travel the country. I’m always exploring different coffee shops throughout America. Café Kubal stands out. From service to quality product, I couldn’t be happier to stumble upon this gem. Found out about them during the Taste of Syracuse. I was working the event and their truck kept me caffeinated throughout both days. Today I decided to check out their physical location and they didn’t disappoint. The only thing I’m disappointed in is the fact that they don’t have a location in my hometown, Los Angeles.

Okay, if there is a perfect latte, then this is it. The taste was incredible, the presentation was stunning, and the barista was both friendly and efficient. If I lived in Syracuse, I’d start every morning here.

Drink:
The best coffee. This is why you go. Everytime I order a latte, the pleasant flavors of the volatile compounds in the beans are easily detectable. It is always fresh.
Service:
(SU) fairly absent. The skill of the baristas is impressive, with fancy latte pours. I’ve never noticed much friendly treatment, but that maybe the culture of traffic at SU.
Food:
Avoid. Or at least, be very careful. My mother-​in-​law ordered quiche, which was tossed in a microwave and served tepid.
Environment:
Furniture is made from pallets and coffee crates. While it is aesthetically and thematically pleasing, it is awful to sit on. Splintery cracked dry pine at odd angles. Fuel the roaster with this shit and get some proper furniture.
Price:
Quality must be considered. This is excellent quality coffee.
