I went to Asti with 11 other people and had a great time, the food was delicious and overall a nice fun dinner but the service was horrific. We waited almost 2.5 hours to get our main course and almost 20 minutes to get bread. But if you thought that was it you’re wrong. Since they’re were 12 of us they couldn’t do separate checks. Not only did they not let us do that but they made us figure out how much everyone owed so we spent 30 minutes figuring out what everyone had to pay. Overall we were here for over 3 hours. I would definitely come back it was great but not with large groups!!!

Never had a bad meal here. The food is superb. The cold calamari salad is the best in Syracuse. No equal.

Was at Asti’s last weekend with a group of 8. The food was fabulous. My veal saltimbocca was amazing. The best I have had in years. Everyone in the party raved about their meal. Had reservations and was promptly sat. As stated in other reviews this is a place for a leisurely meal which is what we wanted! You could actually enjoy your entrée after having some appetizers. I am so tired of restaurants that are bringing your entrée within minutes of the appetizer. If you need fast, pass. If you want great Italian food and enjoy your meal and company, this is not to be missed!

Best Italian in town. Everything I’ve had there has been phenomenal. Pricey, but absolutely worth it.

First of all, it’s parents weekend in Syracuse and every restaurant is swamped with reservations. Still they managed to find a table for us. The food was fantastic. Service was superb. Very nice folks.

This is a place worth visiting again. We had the minestrone soup, which was excellent. Not the red broth and pasts like you see most place, this was more like an Italian vegetable soup. Nice clear broth with a variety of fresh vegetables. A different take on minestrone that I really enjoyed. Salads were definitely above average, with lots of little extras(carrot, radish, olive, peppers). I had the veal Asti(house specialty) which was veal in a Marsala sauce with slices of eggplant. A combination I have never had before but really enjoyed. My friend had the veal parmigiana which was also excellent. Very good food at reasonable prices. Definitely worth another visit to sample more of the menu.

The two stars are for the server who try to give us good service and for the lady that seated us and asked us on our way out about our experience. We said it was ok, apparently she saw the disappointment on our face an insisted for us to share with her, which we reluctantly did. After reading all the great reviews about this restaurant I was very excited about this dinner. My tortellini carbonara was definitely not carbonara, take a look at my pic and you be the judge. I can’t remember my husband’s dish name, it was one of their house specialty and it was extremely sweet and my son’s chicken piccata was beyond lemony to extremely sour. Not sure if we will give this place a second chance. I just hope they get it together and other patrons have a better experience than we did.

our favorite for italian! the garlic dipping oil is greati i love the lasagna! the salads are wonderful. i recently added tuna to a side salad and it must have been 5 ounces of tuna, if not more!!! wholey fishey bulwinkle! the meatballs drew a penalty flag here. they were not in line with everything else in the place. they were overdone and lacked taste !!! we spent too much here, but it won’t stop us from coming back fairly soon!

Beautiful weather had us on the sidewalk patio enjoying the outdoors here in Syracuse’s «Little Italy» on N. Salina St. Service was friendly and 5 star from beginning to end. We started with salads and the tomato red pepper bisque for me. Flavor and consistency were excellent. My companions left none of their fresh salad on their plates. I chose the grilled eggplant with ricotta and penne, which was tender with good flavor in a delectable red sauce and perfectly cooked pasta. The fettucini alfredo with added shrimp came with many large shrimp and the sauce was commented as being creamy and the best he has ever had. The pasta with chicken also came with red sauce and a choice of pasta, which was chosen as a standard spaghetti. Chicken was commented as tasty and tender. Did I mention the tasty fresh bread with dipping oil we ate while waiting for our meals? None of us came close to finishing, but happily took home leftovers for another enjoyable experience. The Italian music playing certainly set the mood for a great experience. We will be back.

Asti is excellent, classic Italian dining. Located just outside downtown Syracuse, Asti is one of several classic dining establishments in Little Italy. In a category where environments are often overdone with Tuscan paraphernalia, Asti takes a more modern approach. With the stylized lighting fixtures, dark wood trim, and pressed ceiling, the interior exhumes an understated luxury. The menu is classic. You’ll find traditional Italian courses, and their associated dishes: antipasti, zuppe, insalata, pesce, secondi etc. And you’re certain to find a great wine to pair the meal with, thanks to their extensive list. The food is the sum of its quality ingredients. They start you with bread baked fresh, paired with their Italian garlic dipping sauce(gently balanced). The salads are crisp, accented by a flavorful homemade dressing. Best of all, the meats are choice: juicy steaks, fresh fish/shellfish, and flavorful cuts of chicken. The service has always been good, but a little slow — not a big deal if you’re up for a leisurely meal. The prices aren’t the cheapest in town, but fair for what you get. In all, if you’re looking for some of the best Italian food in Syracuse, Asti is a must. You get gourmet food, in a classy atmosphere, without the stuffiness of a fine dining establishment. Salute!

We had a private party at Asti and the food and service couldn’t be better! Chris, the owner was delight to deal with. My favorite was the Haddock Francese, lightly breaded with butter, wine and lemon. The pastas were delicious and the calamari just perfect. Don’t miss this place!

Expensive? Yeah, and they could double their prices and it would be worth every penny. Girl friend and I went here and I was knocked on my backside. I am a better than decent cook and am frequently disappointed by restaurant’s fare. Asti was a recommendation from a friend. I had high expectations based on my respect for her opinion on local restaurants. However Asti far exceeded even those elevated expectations. Than you for a great meal and night out!

I’ve been to this restaurant a few times and the food and service have always been excellent. The only poor experience I’ve had was around Christmas time after I made a reservation on a Monday for the coming Saturday, and received a call Thursday that they had over booked and would be unable to accommodate our party unless we came two hours earlier. This was our second failed reservation for the same event, and we were supposed to be going in two days which left much less time to find another place to go that wouldn’t already be booked up. I’m in the service industry so I’m a firm believer in that it’s not about the mistake, it’s how it’s handled. I believe the woman who called to let me know about the mishap was a manager and she apologized and offered other times for our reservation. I explained to her we were pretty set on that time and that I was just disappointed because it really defeated the entire point of making reservations if they can be cancelled last minute. She was genuine and probably wasn’t the person who made the mistake in the first place. She went out of her way to fix it and offered us a $ 25 gift card towards the next time we came in. I thought this was really good service considering she could have just said sorry and moved on, but didn’t want to leave a customer disgruntled. Anyway, the food is always fantastic but it is a little pricey(worth it though) so just be prepared. It’s also a really nice environment. I would definitely recommend it, even given the reservation issue we had.

Hello my name is Chris owner of Asti. Just want Unilocal users to be familiar with reviews that aren’t currently being used. Good or bad, look below on every est. There are 21 more reviews that are posted on Asti’s that Unilocal considers not useable. Idk, I don’t get it. Just want the consumer to be aware. This applies to every business. I don’t know how Unilocal determines what reviews get posted, but I feel that EVERYPERSON has a voice and should be heard. Thank you everyone for your reviews.

Awesome dinner for five last night at Asti. The calamari was perfect with a great side of marinara sauce. The yummy lobster risotto was perfection on a plate with definitely enough for lunch the next day. The lasagna was a hit with my husband who loves Italian food. The wine was excellent and we really enjoyed the atmosphere and service. Enjoyed sitting in front of the kitchen although I worry how hot it gets when the weather heats up. We saw the bruchetta bread being delivered to many tables and wow did we miss an opportunity to eat something AWESOME. Definitely get that — you may even eat that and skip dinner!

How did I not discover this place earlier!!! I am a fan of italian food and this restaurant just brings italian food to another level. The pasta and the risottos were cooked perfectly. and each entrée came with a soup or salad. The portion was so big that I barely touched my food. We also did order the calamari after reading the Unilocal reviews and it was amazing. The servers pay attention to details and make sure you get everything you need: from pouring the water, to packaging your to go box. I think its the best restaurant experience i had in Syracuse.

The garlic cheese bread was some of the best I’ve ever had. It had a perfect amount of cheese and sprinkled with fresh basil. Crunchy crust and soft in the middle. The marinara that came with it was perfectly chunky and tomatoey. My dinner came with the option of house salad or soup — I chose the salad with blue cheese dressing. It was a simple but delicious salad and it was delicious. Lettuce with a couple grape tomatoes cut in half, a few pieces of white onion, and two orange sections. I narrowed down my main course selection to three dishes and asked the waitress for her suggestion. She suggested the Pasta Milano. I got it and it was excellent. It had an excellent garlic cream sauce, with pieces of chicken breast, mushrooms, sun-dried tomatoes, and the penne was perfectly al dente. Excellent recommendation! Overalriendly staff, great food, comfortable atmosphere.
