I’ve had sandwiches from here many times, and it is always great. The sandwich selection is well-varied and creative. My favorites are the Albakurkey Turkey(a hot sandwich with turkey, bacon, avocado, cheddar, geen chile mayo on stretch bread) and the Turkey Club without mustard(a hot sandwich with turkey, bacon, swiss, may and mustard on marble rye). The bread is always fresh and tasty, and the meats are high quality. However, sometimes the avocado isn’t ripe or isn’t fresh. As you can tell from the description, the turkey club isn’t a traditional turkey club, which surprised me at first. It comes hot, so the cheese is melted and the whole sandwich is warm. No veggies on this one either. However, it is really, really good. The staff here are friendly, and my food has always been made quickly. The sandwiches are also consistently good. Overall, I like stopping by here to pick up some hot sandwiches when I’m too lazy to make dinner.

They use bread from Pastabilities. This is good. Sandwiches here are mainly just standard cold cuts, but the bread elevates everything. The turkey with avocado and Italian with fresh mozz are good choices. Even a half-decent bacon, egg, and cheese on a bagel is tough to find around these parts, so these guys get a bonus star for that — it’s not great, but it’s way better than bad. Friendly staff, decent turnaround times on food(except when it’s packed with undergraduates looking for breakfast at noon on Saturdays). I think the house mac and cheese is the frozen stuff from a box, which is lazy, but who doesn’t like the frozen stuff?

First you have to understand that the last time I was here about 2 years ago I couldn’t shovel the sandwich in my face fast enough. That being said. This time around was bad. And I do mean bad. we ordered a turkey club assuming that asking for lettyce and tomato that it would be cold. We asked for a box and asked for them to make another one because we ordered fried pickles and after paying were told they didnt have them. rhey then brought out a turkey club*Ish type sandwich with way WAY to much mayonnaise and dressing and a lack of tomatoes and lettuice.(Seriously) But lastly, my sandwich… I ordered the exact same sandwich that I ordered 2 years prior(the Tuscan chicken panini)… I was sooo disappointed. I was as barely a shadow of its former self. To the point where I began to lose my appitite… but first it never came out and when I asked they forgot about it and burned it. The staff did everything they could to fix the issued with our order, however the disappointment still stands. As excellent as the staff may be, the food must also meet the same standard.

Took way too long to get a milkshake and bowl of mac and cheese. The girls had attitudes. The milkshake was made wrong. I could tell that the Mac and cheese wasn’t home made. It reminded me of what you’d pick up at Maines. This is my first visit. I’m not sure I’ll be back.

Sandwiches. Get the sandwiches. Get them toasted, because the sandwich I got was on ciabatta bread and had turkey and avocados. The cheese melted in your mouth and the crust was so noticeable at first bite. The price was very fair. I I’m usually someone who eats a lot, but with the sandwich I got, I was only able to eat half of it. I had to get a box and eat it for leftovers the next day, which was just as good. 7⁄10

I caved and have given A La Mode another chance. I have to say it seems they have stepped up their game and are doing a good job. Ordered the chicken salad and no issues so I hope they continue to do well! I love their food and as long as they keep up the good work I’ll be back. Glad I gave them another try!

Horrible Service. Ordered ahead of time for a sandwich because I have a short lunch break. I stood at the cash register for 10 minutes with my sandwich sitting there wrapped up next to me waiting for someone to cash me out. Very inefficient service with no one working the register. There is no point ordering ahead of time. Had to go back to work before eating my sandwich. Don’t bother. Go somewhere else.

This is one of my favorite sandwich places. Any Subway or deli chain can make a turkey club or a BLT, but it’s the specialty sandwiches that make a place awesome. And any sandwich place that has chicken cutlet sandwiches regularly earns a special place in my heart. The employees have always been accommodating when I wanted to tweak the ingredients(I like lots of heat). The atmosphere is friendly and there’s always the chance of bumping into an SU athlete or two there. And they have ice cream. A+ in my book.

Great sandwiches. Love their salads. Got to try their spring turkey sandwich! Sometimes staff are busy making sandwiches and don’t look up to greet you. But overall they are pleasant and very helpful.

Their food is consistently well-prepared and delicious. I highly recommend you try their chili was divine(and spicy), the tuna is perfection(with the right mix of mayo, tuna and spices), and finally, the Cure which is their essential breakfast sandwich with egg, sausage, and has brown on a bagel(AMAZING!). And you can never go wrong with their build your own sandwich. The ice cream tops it off – especially with the Lucky Charms topping(genius). This place is EXCELLENT.

Meh. The food here is just meh. The bread is bland. The sandwich list is long and looks inspired, but the reality is maybe a step above Subway. Maybe. If you live near this sandwich shop, the location is convenient(why we went). Otherwise, there are much better options out there. I have no idea why anyone would give this place 5 stars unless perhaps they work for it.

A great place for sandwiches. When I go here the sandwiches always taste delicious and are well made. However, there are some important things to note. 1) some of the employees are really nice and will actually hold a conversation; most are pretty awful and won’t even make eye contact. Customer service could definitely improve. 2) they are out of core ingredients at times. It’s not the worst because there’s always something to substitute it with but I still prefer the real thing. 3) I HATE that you can’t see over the counter to watch them make your sandwiches. There’s been a few times that my sandwiches are missing ingredients, like avocado which is usually the only reason I get that sandwich. 4) never get the paninis. They are small, over priced, and not all that great.

So I never realized that this place existed… Until just now my girlfriend suggested we eat here. I ordered the«hot Italian» and it was so so good! I would reccomend this place any time, for any lover of amazing sandwiches!

On the constant request of many friends i finally made the 10 mile, 20 minute drive from Clay to a la mode. I am an extremely picky eater so immediately all the specialty sandwiches and paninis were eliminated(this is also why i only have 1 selection at panera bread.) Building my owe sandwich, the girl behind the counter made informative(if not a bit teasing) suggestions to my sandwich. Focaccia bread, regular turkey was better than roasted and toasting the sandwich is always a good idea. I had a great experience, the food was great, the service perfect and overall a good place to grab lunch.

Went this past wednesday, and ordered the Italian on «stretch bread». They put this tomato bruschetta /salsa on the sandwich, then put mayonnaise, and finally their sandwich oil. Needless to say, the sandwich was soaked in oil. my thumb went right through the bread, split the sandwich and it was then on my lap. Not a good experience. Lastly, the service wasn’t overly friendly, in fact, they realized a woman forgot her soup on the counter and the staff went back and forth on if they should bring it over to her table she was eating already. Made me think they could not care less about their customers. not impressed. Whole sandwich and soda $ 11.

You don’t deserve even one star, A La Mode. During my time in Syracuse, I had to go here almost everyday despite how much I hated it. Believe me, I had no choice; it was the only place I could go for lunch when I didn’t have time to make the longer drive to Wegman’s. Just know that your patience is going to be severely tested and you’re going to be there a while because they move at a snail’s pace. Good luck getting anyone to acknowledge you for the first ten minutes that you’re standing awkwardly at the counter waiting to place your order. Be prepared to wait up to 30 minutes for a mediocre salad, even if you’re one of just three patrons there at 2:30 in the afternoon. Get ready to wait another ten minutes for someone to ring up your order once you receive said salad. Good luck not wanting to punch someone in the face by the time you leave. Ugh, I’m so glad I never have to go back there again.

The service CONTINUES to be horrendous. Today I stopped by to grab a quick bit and one of the servers actually turned her back on me, refusing to wait on me. My only suggestions to A La Mode are: train you servers, terminate those that are disgruntled and pray Groupons keep customers coming back. I for one will never return.

A La Mode is your basic sandwich shop kicked up a notch. Its sandwiches are enormous to say the least and very tasty. The picture on the left is the Albakurkey Turkey, consisting of hot roasted turkey, bacon, avocado, melted cheddar cheese and homemade green chile mayo. I was glad to see a departure from your typical deli sandwiches and some unique combinations that had my taste buds happy.

I’ve only been here once when my friend insisted on taking me here because he knew how much of a sandwich person I am. Well, honestly, it was amazing. The decorations inside really helped up the whole«50’s vibe» of the shop as a whole and the sandwiches were so scrumptious. It’s not a typical sandwich joint with the usual boring sides, but the owners somehow gave the sandwiches their own refreshing spin. . PS, bring a friend to share.
