This upscale store is recently remodeled. Great meat counter; very nice cold bar(prepared foods) with olives, anipasto etc; stupendous cheese selection. However the star of the show is the excellent beer and wine section. They stock many special brands of both, and generally get the hottest seasonal beers in on the day they are released for the state. They will special order stuff for you if you want, and are great with recommendations. The staff in all departments are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. On Saturdays they have a beer tasting that is a great value and you can talk to the beer person for as long as you want. Great place.

Is it kind of strange to drive a hour just to get to a grocery store? Yes. Is it strange when that grocery store is the Andersons Market. Heck no. I felt like a road trip and had read so many good reviews about The Andersons I had to check it out. It is a great spot if you want to find gourmet cheeses, meats, prepared foods, and prepared desserts. They have a wonderful selection. I really liked the meat counter. They had a great selection of beef and pork items, but a lot of really interesting marinated chicken. You could find anything you wanted garlic butter, mesquite, bbq, cajun, etc, etc, etc. The produce section was also very nice. A large selection of fruits and vegetables as well as store made salad mixes and fruit salads. The selling point for me(and many others) was the wine and beer selection. I was like a kid in an adult candy store. They had beer from almost any state and country that brews it. They sold cases/six packs and you can create your own six pack. I ended up creating my own and getting a hard cider from Uncle Johns, MI a bottle of «Cheap Date» from Arcadia(I had never heard of that beer), one from the Maumee Brewing Co., a couple from Chicago and one from California. While they have an extensive selection, I was disappointed I couldn’t try one from Capitol Brewing out of Columbus, Oh. They have great beer! I didn’t look at the wine selection as thoroughly as I checked out the beer, but they appeared to have a wide range of types from various countries and price ranges. The only let down is the fact I would say this is more of a specialty store than anything else. I wanted to pick up some paper towels and some juice while I was there and they didn’t much of a selection on those items. Thankfully there is a Kroger across the street for such items. Overall, it’s a great place to shop! I would recommend if you were in the area!

My Ohio store away from home. Every time i visit here from out of state I have to stop here at least once. There are samples galore and things I can’t get in Virginia. Example: Tony Packo’s and cheaper produce and fruits. The parking lot can get full but a little bit of a walk is good if you fill up on samples. The beer and wine selection is HUGE!!!

We consider ourselves lucky & privileged to have the Andersons Market located within a mile from our house. Shopping at mega stores like Kroger or Meijer takes patience and planning, because they seem to stock every possible product. The Andersons focuses on just a few items in each category making shopping far less confusing reducing the time & effort much less stressful. Add to this a very impressive wine, beer, meat, produce, bakery & deli departments, has made the Andersons Market our«go to first» store. When I need help finding something it’s easy to find a staff member that is more than willing to help. I’ve seldom experienced a long wait at the checkout or a shortage of close to the door parking spaces.

I hate having to give a positive review to a store in Ohio but this place is worth a drive. Awesome selection of specialty food, fine wine and beer selection. They even sell growlers and howlers(glass hugs of draught beer to go). I recently had an overcharge situation here that I didn’t catch until getting home. These guys took care of it remotely and were super cool about it. Plus store manager Mike Lennox and his crew are friendly and knowledgeable. I only knock them a star because I had the overcharge to begin with.

I’m going to start this review with a positive review. I do like the quaint and home town feel this store has, and the beer and wine selection is amazing! The wine guy is very knowledgeable and always willing to help you find whatever it is you’re looking for(even if you don’t know what it is you’re looking for!) But here’s my pet peeve with this place, there are a lot of senior citizens working there. Which is great, I have no problem with that; but don’t give them the job as the cashier. There are about three of them I’ve had over the past couple months check me out, and they are so slow. They don’t know how to work the register, counting change takes forever, and they have no concept of time management. I stood in line for well over 20 minutes today with older lady as the cashier, there were only three people ahead of me. She had to have help twice by management, she couldn’t figure out the scale for the produce. About 10 other people came and went at the other registers, I should have moved I know… but seems like every time I do that I end up waiting longer. So if you’re going to hire senior citizens, Andersons, have them stock or work in the back. Please get some faster cashiers that know how to use a cash register.

Love! This is the only place I go to get produce and meat. They have a great selection of baked foods and prepared foods to make dinner quick and easy. The new cheese section is huge and they have a ton of specialty items. Their wine selection is fabulous. They always have discounted wines and the staff is so knowledgable and helpful. They are a bit more expensive than Kroger so I don’t do all my shopping here.

This place has ruined me. How am I supposed to shop for food in Chicago, knowing that this place is far away(ish) in Sylvania, OH? How will I ever eat a non-Anderson’s market spinach dip again? With a frown on my face, that’s how. I stopped in while in town to perure their adult beverages section. The selection is still stunning — nice to see many Chicago craft breweries represented among a glorious selection of domestic and imported craft beers, many of which fly solo on the shelf, so you can curate the world’s best 6-pack. The victor of the trip though, was a little treat I picked up for myself. After having only pie at the Thanksgiving table(I know, boohoo, right? #firstworldproblems), I was really craving cake. I found a manageable square in their refrigerated desserts section — it was a tuxedo truffle cake — alternating layers of yellow cake with vanilla and chocolate mousse with a chocolate ganache topping. It looked great — so great in fact, that some guy stopped me in the beer section and ogled my cake, saying how good it looked. I know sir, I picked it out. Anyway, after my first bite of the cake — I realized how stupid I was to not have bought a bigger piece, or maybe the whole cake, and was instantly stuck with sadness knowing I couldn’t get it all the time. I even checked online to see if their bakery department shipped out of state. This is one of the best cakes I have ever had — moist, dense, rich(but not too heavy), the perfect marriage of vanilla and chocolate flavors. I may have to return soon just to get my fix. ;)

Fresh produce, freshly made food, amazing butcher area. I love everything about the anderson’s. Try the shrimp bar, the rajun cajun is my favorite. Peruse their variety of gourmet foods, cheeses, and wines. Try some kobe beef(yes they have that in the back) or some ground buffalo burgers. Oh, did I mention the HUGE selection of beer from around the world(all of which you can buy individual bottles of so you can try). You can literally buy single bottles and try a different bottle each day for a year.

This place is great! I love the variety of food they offer — fresh fruit and vegetables in the summer. Home made guacamole, fine wines and cheeses. Great garden center. And the service is excellent. Staff is always very helpful.

The best addition to our neighborhood grocery racket! Top notch produce from local growers some of the time. Excellent service meat counter-will make special cuts any time for me. All this is in addition to all the other reviewers positive comments that I totally agree with. I missed Whole Foods terribly when I moved here, but not any more!

There are other people who have reviewed this store-I highly agree with them. This is probably the best gourmet/specialty food store in the area. They have a good sized produce section, wonderful bakery & deli, a large House of Meats counter & a great beer & wine selection. They also have the largest coffee selection of any Anderson’s, or any grocery store in the area! If you’re not sure of what coffee flavor you might like, they have one pot packs for a $ 1 in just about all of the flavors they carry in bulk. Their staff is highly knowledgeable of the products they carry & are always happy to recommend something. The store is not cheap, so be prepared. However, if you’re just looking to pick up something different for dinner or lunch, give them a try!

This is one of the nicest gourmet food stores I have seen. It is not pretentious at all, but it has one of the best selections of high quality products I have ever seen. I bought a lot of sauces and condiments. Also, it had many unusual beers, often available in singles(such as white beer from Japan). Definitely will visit each time I go to Toledo.

Many of you are familiar with the name Andersons, as they own six retail stores in Columbus and Northwest Ohio. Their new venture in Sylvania, Ohio is called The Andersons Market and is … «here to provide you with the finest quality, fresh, natural, organic and whole foods, nutritional products, and health information in a fun comfortable clean, safe environment.» Some highlights of the store include: * A large fresh fruit and vegetable area upon entering the store. Samples are available at each row end and often in between. Everything looks fresh and is deliciously displayed. * The deli area is stocked with unique salads, an olive bar, and a salad bar. If samples aren’t already available, they are easily obtained just by asking. * The meat department is also impressive with a wide array of meats and seafood, many of them pre-seasoned or pre-marinated for your convenience.(Try the mango coconut talapia. It’s delicious!) * The wine area is impressive with a wine Tasting Bar for daily samples or try their Wine Tasting Event every Wednesday from 6 – 8 p.m. The rest of the store stocks a wide variety of common and not-so-common brands, especially from local manufacturers and growers. In each of my visits there, the workers have always been helpful and knowledgeable about their respective departments.
