I took my family to the Memphis Pearl this Sunday(3÷6÷16) to celebrate my father’s 70th birthday Only to find a note on the door stating that they are closed on Sunday’s except for special occasions(3÷13÷16) and Easter Sunday. Well my father’s birthday is a special occasion so why weren’t they open on this Sunday? Their hours sign says open 3 to 9. We had been there on a previous Sunday and they were open. I did some checking and their website says they are open on Sundays from 3:30 to 9. Their FB page says they are open from 3:30 to 8:30. When I called their store the lady on the recording there said that they are open from 5 to 9 on Sundays. Well none of them are correct! If you are going to start being closed on Sunday’s shouldn’t you warn your customers and at least update your sign, message, website and Face Book pages? Needless to say we were very disappointed. Fortunately we were able to salvage the day and went to the Seafood restaurant and had a wonderful experience. This will be our first choice from now on. It will be a while before we go back to the Memphis Pearl if at all.

There were 7 of us for dinner. Had very prompt service. I had the best Perch I’ve ever had! Nice plump filets with a dusted batter. Also the salad 55 has spinach and lettuce plus bacon onion blue cheese with red French dressing. Very good indeed!!! Great gal singing with guitar in lounge area, nice to see couples dancing again! Bar area was busy with people coming and going. Great deserts too!

Overall experience on Friday 2÷19÷16 was good EXCEPT for the beer, the free dessert and the manager. It was my first time there and we met another couple who are regulars and they told me that they have an excellent selection of craft beers on draught, as they know how much I love a good draught. Our server Rob(who was excellent!), when I asked him for the selection of beers on tap he gave me four selections, Maumee Bay Blitzen, Great lakes Christmas Ale, Latitude 42 Powerline Porter and Maumee Bay Total Eclipse. Two of the four are Christmas beers, I’m sorry but it’s the middle of February how long have these beers been sitting around? I like a nice porter so I ordered the Powerline. Rob came back and informed me that the keg had just blown, so I ordered the Total Eclipse. The manager then came to the table to let me know that the keg had blown on that beer too. She offered Me bottled beer and I explained to her that I could get bottled beer at home and when I went out I enjoyed a nice craft draught. After 10 minutes from ordering my first beer I ended up disappointingly getting the bottle beer which sufficed. Christy the manager offered us a free dessert for our problem with the beers. We chose the chocolate cake which was disappointing; it tasted dry, old and had a funny taste(the only issue with our food). However we weren’t going to complain about a free dessert, what would they do give us another free dessert? You would think if you are giving a customer something to make up for a problem you would make sure that it was fresh. After dinner I took a stroll through the bar to check out their draught issues and counted at least ten drought taps with only four handles. Why do you have a draught system and only keep two old Christmas beers in stock? Rob was very informing and provided us a fun and entertaining evening with great suggestions for our dinners. The food and service were excellent and saved the evening for us. Thank you Rob and compliments to the Chef(just keep a little better eye on your desserts). The Memphis has plenty of potential but due to the lack of…

Went here for a family birthday celebration. We were a larger group but the service was fantastic! Everyone was pleased with their food. There was a variety of salads that you could get with entrees. Personally, I had a 55 salad which was a mixture of a spinach and tossed salad with lots of delicious toppings. For my entrée I had meatloaf and green beans. Both were excellent. It might have been the best meatloaf one ever had. I no longer live in the area but needles to say if I’m in the area and have a taste for comfort food I will know where to go from now on.

Food is ok but not great. Prices are reasonable. This was our third try and the service is still horrible. Our waiter was running everywhere, partially delivering orders but because he was in such a hurry, forgot stuff so he kept having to backtrack. No one else ever offered to help. Our friends asked for a second drink but the bartender was too busy talking to the regulars to be concerned about filling our order. No 4th chance from us. Waste of $ 50!
