Charlie’s is absolutely terrible! Horrible ice cream and very expensive! The food is greasy and not home cooked at all! It’s frozen crap they throw on a grill! Yuck yuck and more yuck!!! Plus very dirty and out dated! I wouldn’t go back, or ever let me kids eat there again!

We’ve been fans of Charlie’s for years. Fast and friendly service and the food is always fresh and tasty. This is a great lunch destination as well as a convenient dinner option with excellent ice cream. I visit here often and I am always amazed at the consistency of the food and service.

Super ice cream. Have the best mint chocolate chip ice cream I have ever had, but they have this chocolate raspberry swirl that is amazing and their strawberry ice cream has chunks of fresh strawberries in it… so, so, good. What is great, is they truly cater to the customer. Their ice cream sandwiches are the best, and they will make them on the spot for you with any ice cream you want, wrap them up in plastic, and bag them so you can go home with them and put them right in the freezer for later. For the savory side, their fries are very, very good, as are their burgers. Wonderful little spot, pretty plaza, pretty area. The staff is always incredibly friendly.

The ice cream here is tasty(though not as good as Graeter’s *ahem*), and it’s a fun place to meet up with friends or go out with families. A solid ice cream choice in Toledo.

First off, this is hands down the best ice cream for miles. It’s homemade, and the quality is top-notch. The chocolate almond is rich and LOADED with almonds! Their pumpkin is to die for. They make seasonal favorites that easily beat out all other local competition. As an avid traveler and ice cream lover, I think theirs is on par with some of the best in the country. It’s a local treasure.(And the burgers, loaded, are«crave-a-licious»!) This friendly neighborhood joint is a win-win.

The homemade ice cream at this place is as good as it gets. I have yet to taste a chocolate ice cream that compares. The prices are good, especially for an small business owned by one guy. Charlie is often there, smiling, and ready to ask about your day and prepare your favorite treat.

For a place that I’ve gone to my entire life, literally every year of my life, I have to give it 5 stars. Charlie’s is a staple for Sylvania, if a suburb can have staples. It’s the place where every kid went to after a day at the pool, every little league team went to for ice cream after games, and every parent took the kids to for dinner when the other parent wasn’t around. I feel like I grew up with Charlie himself. He was always behind the counter with his little white hat on and a smile across his face. Ok, enough of the nostalgia and onto the food. Charlie’s is a grease pit — you are guaranteed to leave there smelling like french fries but is that necessarily a bad thing? The food is what it is. Don’t expect gourmet burgers ’cause they’re not. My dad always gets the fish sandwich, my mom gets the grilled chicken salad with honey mustard, and I get the 3-way chili. And as always, ice cream. This stuff is homemade and it is daaaaammn good! In the fall, they have my favorite flavor — pumpkin. Normally, I go for the mocha chip. Mmmmmmm…

Slightly pricey for ice cream, but you get what you pay for!
