If you want standard large menu diner affair, this place is the best in the area. The décor is very nostalgic and the seating is geared around large amounts of people, in fact a lot of it is family style(long tables) but there are also booths. I’ve only come here once and I have no complaints but I either want something more quick grab(pizza) or more restaurant style but this place is insanely popular and if that’s the experience you want, they excel at that.

We went to the Sylvan Beach area for the Monday sunset celebration, expecting craft and vendor booths and activities but there was only 3 tents with garage sale items. It seems a lot of places are closed on Monday and Tuesday in the area as well so we decided since we were there we would grab some food. There were a handful of places to choose from and Eddie’s was the closest to where we parked so that was the winner by default. The menu is pretty extensive so it took a while for us to decide. The homemade pasta sauce was a feature item and you could purchase it to bring home as well so I wanted to try it. I ordered the eggplant rollatini but sadly, I was pretty disappointed. All but 1 piece of the eggplant was bitter and the sauce wasn’t that great much to my surprise since it seemed like a big deal there. However, my daughter ordered the kids meal chicken tenders. Those things were DELICIOUS! Had I know I would have ordered that instead– they were definitely some of the best chicken tenders ever. So based on my limited experience is say go for the tenders! They did have pies in the case but they only had cream based pies at the time– banana cream, coconut cream, and pineapple cream. I’m an apple pie kinda girl so I passed but if you’re into all that cream it may be worth a shot.

That had great food but the service was terrible, took forever for my meal. The place was sort of clean and was very old looking, needs a renovation. If your looking for a meal than skip this place.

Great old fashioned dinner with great food. Party of four and everything was very good. Hot Ham Sandwich, pork BBQ sandwich, Eddie’s famous steak sandwich and homemade«red» clam chowder. Home made chips with sandwiches were also very good. They also have bottled Saranac 1888 soft drinks. Since we were at the factory a few days ago we surely going to get another taste. You have to save room for dessert! The Chocolate Cream and Coconut Cream pies were to die for! Each piece is big enough to share. Also the hot fudge Sundae was excellent. Very creamy ice cream and good hot fudge. This was our first time here but won’t be the last!

I had the chicken ceaser wrap and it came out with a small portion of sweet potato chip that were bland. The ceaser wrap was also something that I could have made at home and was also not very appetizing the lettuce wasn’t fresh. I also had a peace of hair on my wrap and I’m pretty sure I didn’t order that. The silver wear had crumbs of old food on it and the place had a fish smell to it. Also they don’t do refills on soda. The waitress wasn’t great at all and the other took a while to come out when there wasn’t even that many people in the place. Even though I did consider preparation time it shouldn’t take that long from a wrap.

To start off the environment is filled with old people which was fine because I was like«hey this must be the spot to eat» But I soon found that the chicken tenders were very poorly made also the waitress said«there are no free refills this year» this was a huge loss to the meal because usually you can drink as much as you want. Save your money and time cuz service is not acceptable.

First time customer at Eddie’s. I had the corn beef on rye. The sandwich was good not exceptional. The sandwich was over priced for quality of the corn beef and rye bread. The restaurant was clean and the waitress was very attentive for our dining party. Sylvan Beach is resort area of Oneida Lake New York and I believe it’s reflects tourists wants and somewhat reflects the price and the quality of food served.

A quaint sylvan beach diner. I think we came for the wrong meal because the deserts looked the best! Friendly staff and good for families. Food ok.

I grew up with this place. It was always exciting news to hear that Eddie’s had opened for the season. The fish fry, the hot ham sandwich, and the spaghetti(their sauce is excellent) are my faves. It is like a huge diner from a bygone age that never closed. The pies are a must have. The coconut cream pie is a DREAM. Go eat here, then walk around the honky tonk amusement park or by the water. This place is SUMMER to me. Great for families and large groups too!

Eddie’s is a Sylvan Beach institution. It has been in business for over 77 years and it is a favorite amongst the locals and the tourists. For those of you that are old enough to remember, Eddie’s has a throwback vibe to those old family restaurants your parents used to take you back in the early seventies. The menu features a vast array of traditional american fare. It doesn’t feature much on the«creative» side overall, but what they do offer, they do quite well.(Their chicken & biscuits are a favorite of mine). If you are looking for something a little different, try either the Hot Ham or the FiFi’s special. Both are quite good. The portions are pretty big, if not enormous so make sure you arrive hungry. But most of all, make sure you leave room for dessert… Eddie’s features some of the best desserts on the beach, including some of the best home made pies in the area. If you go to Eddies and don’t at least split a piece of pie, you haven’t had the full Eddies experience. BTW… Eddie’s should not be confused with Harpoon Eddie’s. They are two different places on the beach.

Eddie’s is a Sylvan Beach tradition — in business for 70+ years, they still serve up some great food. We stopped by for lunch today and had a great time. I ordered the roast beast… oops…I mean roast beef sandwich and got enough beef for about 4 people. The chef salad that my husband had was huge as well and very tasty. We didn’t have dessert but they looked awesome!
