WOW! Is all I can say. We worked with Kate and her presence with the horses was so beautiful. I was so blown away by the presence and Loving and Knowing of these majestic creatures. I would recommend this to ANYONE. I learned so much about myself being in the presence of these gorgeous animals. The ranch is very accommodating and the environment is warm and welcoming. Treat yourself to a day of being with the horses and getting to know yourself better.

I’ve had the best experiences volunteering at Saffyre Sanctuary. Esta is a wonderfully intuitive woman with an inspiring connection to horses. The backgrounds of some of these sweet horses are sometimes very difficult to hear about but you can’t beat the feeling you get from knowing you are helping these loving creatures!

I volunteer at this horse rescue four days a week. It’s location is listed on their website, not just their PO Box. They currently are boarding at Summer Hawk in Sylmar. They do wonderful work and the horses are well taken care of. There are 6 rescues to take care of for now. I LOVE working there, the horses are wonderful and Esta and John are great. I started volunteering with Saffyre Sanctuary last July and have loved my time spent working with the horses. The founder, Esta, is a very nurturing and caring individual, who gladly welcomes all volunteers that come her way. Whether or not you have previous experience working around horses doesn’t matter, all are welcome. Esta and John both work diligently to teach and guide their volunteers and guests through all the learning phases. Plus, you are given hands-​on experiences playing with the horses, cleaning the stalls, grooming, and preparing food. The entire experience is very enjoyable!
The horses are so gentle and well-​loved. Their happy demeanor tells you so. :) I’ve learned so much from my time spent here and highly recommend you check it out. If you have trouble with the address, refer to Karen’s earlier post and check out Saffyre Sanctuary’s website. Thanks!
