These tacos were great… I got off at 10pm and was craving some food Mexican tacos. This place did not disappoint. I’m not a fan of salsa but this place has two really bomb ones. The guac and green salsa. The red one is super spicy but then again I don’t do spicy well. But I’m glad I found this joint and will come again.

Bomb tacos!!! love all three sauces but their not spicy. I just wish they had buche. This spot reminds me of tacos don Cucos down the street, when they were good. Not a lot meat selection, but the meat they carry are good. Since they aren’t that big yet I never had to wait for a long time.

Great place for tacos. The tortillas are made«a mano!» So far I’ve had their tacos de asada and al pastor and they are awesome. Their sauce is good too! If you’re looking for some good tacos and are in the neighborhood this is the place to be.

This trucks tacos taste way better than King Taco or Tacos El Gavilan. Everything made from scratch and cooked fresh, including the salsas. It’s Michoacan style — no guacamole like Baja style, but that’s alright because the homemade flavors make up for it. My new favorite truck in the SFV. They take cash only, have plenty of street parking and are open until 11.

Don’t complain that it took you 30 minutes to get your tacos. Sit your ass down on the lawn and wait. This spot is fuckin’ amazing. The tortillas are soft, fluffy and fresh. Watched Tia press them on the spot. Watched them throw the asada on the grill and chop it on the spot. Took the time to bag each lime and radish bag. These tacos are fuckin delicious and worth the wait! Got 6 carne asadas and 2 cabezas — flavorful and tender. And on top of that the three salsas they have are so fuckin fresh and delicious. I’ve never complimented any Mexican restaurant solely on their salsas but this one’s worth the mention. Verde you can taste the fresh chopped lime, the red one is really savory, the darker peppery green has that smoked flavor. Most of the time these are all watered down at other spots but it tastes like they really took time to put these salsas together. There’s so many taco trucks on Foothill but you have to hit this one for sure.

This might honestly be the best taco truck in the Los Angeles area. Everything is made fresh(salsas, tortillas, handmade flautas), and everything is seasoned so perfectly. Incredibly nice staff and owner as well. Highly recommend the flautas, and taco de cabeza and adobada. We live in Santa Monica, are both busy chefs, and without a doubt we would make the trip just to eat at Mi Ranchito. Hope this place has amazing success!

The tacos here are delicious. The hand made tortillas are, too. What really stands out for me is the service. These people really care about what they do. I have no problem with preparing my own salsa and stuff, but I called in an order to go one day, and they had all my fixings ready to go! They gave me a little bag of radishes and lemons, some grilled onions in foil, and my choice of salsas in little cups ready to jam. I was in and out, which works out perfectly when I am on a timed work break. I, also, have to mention that I was there to see them close one day. After packing up, the guy came out and scrubbed his sidewalk down with some degreaser and water. I don’t know if this is a common practice with food truck keepers, but I have never seen that before and thought it showed a lot of character. Keep up the great work guys!

So far so good, hand made tortillas had asada tacos. The red salsa which I think is habanero is bomb. I hope they keep up the quality of tacos.

Awesome taco truck! Less than 10 minute wait for an order of 30 tacos… Food and customer service is amazing… Their 7pm to 12pm hours are just perfect. they stay much later though as long as they have customers and food — I would much rather eat from their menu now then even consider to go to Mickie D’s/Jack in the Box… Late night tacos after a long shift. Tasty salsas and large helpings of cilantro/onions/limes are always appreciated where as other trucks may charge or fail to include them in your bag simply because you didnt ask. I appreciate the freshness and value(tacos for only a $ 1)… They set up on Foothill Blvd right before Maclay in a well lit area every night. .I went searching one afternoon for this specific truck hoping to find them … I didnt, so I settled for another truck(numerous trucks parled upawith great disappointment in the first bite(loaded with fat rubbery pieces), Taqueria Mi Ranchita uses quality meat for everything… This couple won’t disappoint… Great job guys. you love what you do and it shows…

Definitely best Tacos around, specially their salsas, I use to frequent the truck on opposite end of Foothill where they also have hand made tacos, but this place by far blows them away. But dont take my word for it try em for your self :) You wont be disappointed.

Great tacos, great salsas and great service. Come to get the tacos with hand made tortillas. Might not be as good as Tijuana’s tacos, but one of the best if not the best in the SF valley.

I live locally so I’ve been to many of the foothill trucks and surrounding taquerias. Mi Ranchito definitely ranks highly on my list as one of the finest. When tasting a new taqueria, I typically eat with onion/cilantro and w/out salsa for the first few bites, just to get an understanding of their tortilla and meat quality. I typically order 5 – 6 different meats, but tonight I only had 3 tacos. 1) Hand Made Corn Tortillas-Sweet and supple, with a very clean and delicate flavor, not entirely rustic as some handmade tortillas, but much less gritty than typical packaged tortilla. It’s like a palate cleanser and food delivery system in one. Moist, slightly toasted and carefully prepared. 2) Carne Asada-Consistency is of fine thin slices of meat, as opposed to the more common«pebbled» cut beef. Well braised and simply seasoned, and what it lacks in juiciness, it shines with a depth of flavor similar to an aged meat, or lightly marinated craft jerky. The marination is basic, but the dense pack of finely diced meat chews very softly and is equally satisfying. No hard boulders or toughness. 3) Al Pastor-Marinated and seasoned with a bright and vibrant sauce crafted from scratch, this Al Pastor was cut into small ground chunks with every bite a mix of tender meat and chewy fat. Extremely juicy and punchy, the balance of flavors from this taco made me feel wrong for even thinking of dressing it with salsa. The balance between the mild tortilla and al pastor was perfection. Wasn’t overly sweet or fruity like other pineapple ladened al pastor I’ve eaten. Great balance and good showcase of meat flavor. 4) Cabeza-Everything that makes me love cabeza; soft, melty, and gluttonous, but the flavoring was more developed than the typical boiled/steam profile of other taquerias. I noticed some pieces of the cabeza showing braising which brought out more of the meaty notes, without the addition of extra seasoning that could take away some of the gaminess that these cuts are known for. Extremely moist and well prepared. 5) Salsas-Aguacate Blend was creamy with a slightly whipped mouthfeel. Chef explained he doesn’t add any water to cut the volume, just straight Avocado+Seasoning. Garlic/Citrus/Salt/Well balanced. Green Tomatillo, slightly toasty notes with mild brightness. Garlic/Citrus/Salt/Well balanced. Red Salsa was a blended sauce, opaque and creamy with a similar consistency as the Aguacate. Tasted of toasted dry chile, with a sweet honey start, quickly into a garlic salty finish. Fantastic. Chile Arbol Dressing, is a «chile-oil» with great toasted chile skin notes and sensation of warm oil. As with any chile-oil, this is great if you want to add heat and smokey aroma without the addition of salt/acidity/garlic of a typical salsa, which could get in the way of more delicate tasting meats. Conclusion-Passionate people making hand crafted passionate food. Would easily pay double if they doubled their décor and marketing budget, but that’s obviously not what makes the business of food trucks work. My point is, i’ve had much worse food/value from much more«upscale» dining in LA. Renee Redzepi is fascinated by Mexican Cuisine because it is often criticized and analyzed without the proper«lens». I do agree, and I tend to forget about price point, forget about what a restaurant should be, and think about how connected a food is to its origin, not necessarily by memory or authenticity, but how affected I feel it is by commerce, trend, and location. I’m not a foodie or an avid taco eater, so I’m not going to claim«best or worst» in this category, but many tacos can taste very generic and utility out here, which Mi Ranchita does NOT. Have I had better/worse? As an angeleno and husband of a mexican woman, of course. But, I think if any establishment can serve food good enough to result in this much retrospection, in a category saturated by hundreds, it deserves a try. Keep up the good work.

Amazing tacos, excellent service and delicious salsas. What else do you need? And you can trust me when it comes to tacos, being that I’ve lived in the valley 23 years and have a crazy obsession for tacos. Must go here for some great tacos, friendly staff and great service. Oh and how could I forget, they’re only $ 1 dollar! You also have the option to get hand made tortillas for a couple cents more, that’s up to you.
