Food was just OK but the restaurant was a bit dumpy. The service was a bit slow. The owner needs to try a bit harder. We got the asada burrito and fish tacos. They offer goat and birria which looks very interesting but I probably won’t be back because of the run down nature of the restaurant and the long amount of time for food to come out of the kitchen. I drained my super-jumbo horchata while waiting for crying out loud.

Stopped by when I saw the sign Pupusas and Mexican food, I am so glad I did. The restaurant is old but very clean including the bathrooms. There is parking and a patio if you prefer alfresco dinning. Two of us ordered the Pupusas, they were the best I had ever eaten. They were made fresh, you could hear the lady making them by hand. The dough was light, the stuffing was awesome. The curtido wasn’t typical«Salvadorean», it was seasoned more for the Mexican palate, a little spicy but delicious. The typical tomato salsa was influenced by a Mexican palate and good. The Pupusas were so outstanding there was no need for the condiments. We also ordered tacos al pastor, excellent choice again. They had a nice selection of Mexican soda pop, which is always nice. They were not too busy, our food was quick, the service outstanding. I can’t wait to stop by when I am in the area.

Salsa was good. Service was good. Food was terrible. So disappointed. Looks like a hole in wall but food is average. I prefer Los Equipales.

This place looks a bit sketchy but I got to admit they know how to make good food. There burritos are bigger than one would expect. If they took the time to fix up the place then it will become really popular no doubt that is my only recommendation overall really good food!

Be prepared to wait a bit for your food. They make everything fresh. We mostly have ordered burritos here but also like ordering their Albondigas soup. I like that they offer a chicken version and not just beef.

Had some pupusas. $ 1 on Wednesdays. Was so good and filling. 4 stars because of the wait. I appreciate them making it fresh for me but I was the only customer and it took like 15 – 20 min. Definitely plan on being a regular. Calling my order in ahead next time though.

The best salsa! My boyfriend always tells me you know a place is going to be good when they have good salsa! The food was good and the price was even better ;) we kept the server running around with extra orders and refills and he was very on top of everything we needed! The only reason I didn’t give a 5 star was the fact that every table was filthy when we got there and there was only about 3 or 4 other family’s eating! Other then the mess it was great

Tacos de Carne asada with the handmade corn tortillas, bomb! I also love the asada nachos, and their huarache. Service is a tad slow, but worth the wait. And the servers are very polite.

It was a let down. We waited a while to get the menus, but we kept thinking if it was good it was worth it. We ordered, and they took for ever with our food, I tried to be understanding; it was pretty full and they were under staff but when I finally got my order was when the full disappointment settled. I ordered enchiladas and they were cold! The cheese inside wasn’t even a little bit melted. It was hard to swallow, I had to dip them in the beans that were warm so it wouldn’t feel so bad. Nope, I’m not going back.

Have to give El Vaquero a solid 3, came here on a business lunch and its a pretty much a hole in the wall kind of place with 2 small televisions playing soccer and miniature Mexican flags adorning the place, would have been perfect if I could have had a Tecate in a can with my meal. The Salsa and Chips were pretty great, nice big bowl of salsa with lots of taste and fresh chips. I originally went there for Mocajete but they said it would take about 45 minutes to make; so I went with the the birra de res(beef) which was pretty solid, served properly with onions and a lime. I asked for a spicier salsa which they brought out and was not spicy enough, but I have problems. Loved the fresh corn tortillas, our customer got the fajitas… they came out on a plate instead of a hot skillet. So will definitely come back to try the Mocajete.
