Food. was horrible prime rib was under cooked they
more and had a few bites before I spit it out in my napkin. Steaks were frozen and tastless. Should have know better when there were only one other couple in the place.

The ONLY reason I didn’t give it 5 rating was really because the wait staff is overwhelming tasked and, as a result can’t possibly give all the sections the attention they basically require.
Really, only two waitresses to cover the bar area and three other sections? You have such great food and the potential to turn this gem into a diamond and you fail to manage your staff properly?
Why do waitresses bus tables?
We were waited on right away, gave our orders for the 14oz Prime Rib meal, Sweet Tea with two glasses of water, mashed potatoes with gravy and a side of Broccoli.
15 minutes passed, then 20. By the time nearly 30 minutes passed, my Wife was dying of dehydration. It was like our waitress forgot we had asked for water.
She was in another section busting tables, waiting on customers who had come after us and apparently forgot the basics of waitressing… BRING THE DRINKS.
We went to the buffet for the soups, Chicken noodle and Italian Wedding, both delicious. Upon finishing at the buffet and still not seeing our waitress, I asked the other waitress if she could send ours over to us,… Poof, now she’s gone too.
Finally, upon seeing the loss of skin tone in my Wife’s face as dehydration was setting in, I got up to find water, anywhere and I think maybe I stumbled upon a manager who, upon asking me if she could help me with something, brought us both some water. Oh, did I forget to mention our Prime Rib, mashed potatoes with gravy and broccoli had been brought out over 10 minutes BEFORE we got a drink?
To make a long story,… well, can’t make it short anymore, our meal was beyond reproach.
The Prime Rib melted in our mouths, the potatoes were perfect and the Broccoli was, by far, the most perfectly steamed vegetable delight we can recall ever having at any restaurant.
Yes, it was STILL worth the inconvenience for the quality of the food.
I only wish I COULD give it 5 Stars.

Me and my fiancé were on vacation and decided to try a local place. This was not good. Our first sign should have been the smell of the place. While I was at the salad bar, I overheard the manager doing a job interview (at the front door of the place) of a young man and the qualifications to work here? Can you work weekends, holidays, and after 12am. And that basically is the quality of service you get. We sat for ever waiting for our waitress to bring us drinks then to come back and give us our check. She was a nice girl, but the food was bad, salad bar had flies, the beer was warm, and the place smelled.

Best steaks in town at a great price. Drinks are reasonable and a nice salad bar. Sorry but this is the mountains and there are flies… hard to control but I’ve been going there for years and only one fly in the salad.

Filthy pig pen… Had 2 bad things in one night that would tell you never walk through the door. One was the long hair of the waitress melted into a cheeseburger and the other was vomit all over the bathroom. The place was the best years ago. Our favorite dining place as kids. Downhill fast!!! Vacationers beware.

Go elsewhere. We went in and ordered our food and drinks then went to the salad bar and seen bugs in the lettuce. We told the manager and she prompted us to leave asap.

This place should close down the food sucks and so does the service are Watier rose should be working in a barn. The salad bar had nets flying all around this place it filthy the big fat guy who cleans off tables walks around dragging he feet he look like a pig he really doesn’t want to work it is quite obvious steaks must have bin frozen then cook. The people who have written and gave them a good review must not know anything about a good steak house I should have left when I felt my feet sliding on the floor what a filthy dirty place stay away

Good music– Bartender makes great drinks, I love the food it coming out fast, hot and cooked to order. Cheesesteaks are awesome. All you can eat salad bar that had cheese burger soup «I mean come on». Serve wine right out of the box right at your table, no lie. Good crowd and had a dining room.

Steak was juicy and flavorful and guess what? Real mash potatoes although salad bar could use work

We passed this place many times but never tried it due to some negative reviews. We decided to try it and we were pleasantly surprised. Our hostess and waitress were both very pleasant. When we took a look at the menu we were surprised at the very reasonable pricing which is included the salad bar with entrees and $ 1.99 extra if you ordered a burger. The salad bar was very good and the homemade soup was very good. I ordered stuffed flounder which was very good. The flounder was stuffed with crab meat and small shrimp. My wife ordered the patty melt and added the salad bar. She also substituted onion rings in place of French fries for $ 1 more. Her patty melt was cooked to perfection medium rare just as she requested and the onion rings were very good. The staff was attentive coming over to us at least three times to make sure everything was ok. We will be coming back many times.

For great food and a great old fashioned atmosphere, this place is perfect! The prices are very reasonable, and the food is delicious! The staff are all very friendly and courteous and are there to help you!

I went here with my girlfriend while on vacation, I had stuffed pork chops and they couldn’t have been any better, love it here! Also our waitress was an awesome out going person and new exactly what she was doing, definitely will be on my list next time I visit!

The family was out at the Great Wolf Lodge for an overnight and we wanted to go «off campus» for some reasonably priced good food. We searched around and found this place. It doesn’t look like much from the outside, but the meal was excellent. The wife got the prime rib and I got the stuffed pork chops, both were delicious. Even the kid’s meals were tasty. The Kelly’s fries on the appetizers menu was awesome. The prices are very reasonable. We ate like little piggies for with apps for about $ 50 and were so stuffed, no one wanted dessert, even the kids. The place itself is very homey and reminds me of places that just are not around anymore. The log cabin type feel with the fireplace in the dining room and the salad bar made me think of the old-​time places I would go with my grandfather back in the day. Definitely worth venturing out to if you are in the area. Good food, great prices, cozy feel.

I’ve gone here a couple of more times.
What made my star rating go even higher was the cost/​value ratio.
I could literally eat and drink here up to 4 times for the price it would cost to eat and drink at just about any other good independent restaurant bar in the area one time.
4 times here vs. 1 time at another Poconos restaurant.
Not a hard choice. I pick here. Especially Tu/W/Th’s.
At that ratio, and just recently trying the French onion soup – which was VERY good– This place truly does deserve 5 stars!

I’ve been going to the Amber ever since I rented a cabin/​house from the owner 10 years ago when I use to drop my rent off there. If you are anything close to a restaurant snob do not go there. If you love GREAT prices and pretty good food its the place for you! Service can be good to ok depending on who is working. I have had dinner with my gf there and we both had the steak special and spent 20 dollars total! That was with a steak, side, salad bar, and two beers each! Cannot buy it for cheaper. Once again if you are a restaurant critique you will hate it, if you like good deals and a chill atmosphere you will love it.

This place is my favorite place to go after spending the weekend in the Poconos! We go here every time we visit. Its the perfect atmosphere after a long weekend of skiing/​snowboarding. Its mellow, warm, and inviting. We are always greeted by a wonderful hostess who is friendly seats us at our table, and always gives us great recommendations.
I love the salad bar, it comes with the meal and the soups are to die for. In terms of appetizers, me and my boyfriend always go for the buffalo wings. They are AMAZING. If your not a meat person but like the spice then definitely the devil fries. Usually we just get both! LOL
In terms of Entrees, you can’t go wrong with the steaks here. I’ve never gotten one but my dad and boyfriend rave about them. The meatloaf is a good choice as well. But my favorite has to be the chicken parm! The prices are AMAZING for what they give you.
The thing that I love about the amber is its a relaxed environment. Its a place to go chill by the fire, enjoy a great meal, and spend time with the people you love after an amazing day at the poconos. I’ve been here many many times over the course of my life and have never had a bad experience.

Diamond in the rough. Good food for good prices. The service was nice and friendly.
Homemade soups were excellent. The wings, chicken fingers and steaks were tasty.

Local place. Chill as shit. If you’ve got some buddies and want some beer and burgers this is a great place. Out of towners can suck mah dick on the bad reviews. Go back to your city hipster bars please.
