I’m sad to only give this restaurant one star. This has been an establishment I’ve frequented many times however, today I was highly disappointed. After placing a to go order and receiving the meal, I was not only told it was my fault for calling it in wrong but had to pay for both the incorrect and correct order! It wasn’t like I called in a hamburger but got a cheeseburger– it was more of an apples to oranges type of thing. Poor customer service, Especially to a loyal customer that orders from there at least once a week. I was highly disappointed.

Very nice café, with excellent bakery. The chicken salad is very good, and the sweet potato fries are fresh and hot.

Our lunch was very good. Beautiful fresh ingredients, high quality ingredients and tasty plates for all of us. The French fries reminded us of the fresh fries we had at a restaurant when we were growing up and were really great. Ditto for the sweet potato fries. Normally we don’t get dessert but they got us good with the scrumptious looking items in the charming antique display cabinet in the entry to the dining area. We chose the butterfinger bar. It was so good and not overly sweet but just right. It’s five star on the food. My four star rating is because the service was incredibly slow at a time when there were only three other tables seated. When you go to this restaurant, don’t be in a rush and enjoy the old time atmosphere.

Today we met our daughter on her lunch break at this charming, little restaurant in Sweetwater. As you walk in you see this incredible case of desserts that are hard to walk past! HUGE cookies, bars, and various cakes and cupcakes and they all look so good you are temped to just eat cake and skip lunch! We were amazed at the size of the menu and everything sounded so good, but when the server said they had French Onion soup today, my mind was made up — Soup and Salad. The soup was delicious and not too salty as some are. They mixed in the cheese with the soup and croutons making it much easier to eat. Paired with a Greek Salad with heavenly dressing, I was pleasantly filled. My daughter and husband both opted for the Club Sandwich… one with Steak Fries and the other with Potato Soup and again, both were very pleased. The sandwiches were large and full of meats, the fries were tasty with just the right amount of salt and the Potato Soup was praised by one who makes homemade, so that is a good review! The place was very busy with a large table of about 12 and at least 7 – 8 smaller tables and only one server taking care of everyone. Still, we were served refills on our drinks and the meals were not extremely delayed considering. Our server was very nice and cordial and did not act the least bit frazzled with all the tables she was responsible to serve. All in all, this was a great find and we WILL be back again to try something else on the menu. And BTW, I did not get past the dessert case on the way out… you have to pay up front, so while I am waiting my turn to pay, I am looking and just had to take home a Neiman Marcus bar and a HUGE Oatmeal Raisin cookie! Yep, they get you coming in and going out… calling your name! Had a bite after we got home and the desserts ARE delicious!

I’ve been to Hunters a few times now, and even though the service was always unfriendly, the food was always great. My kids got the grilled chicken tenders and I can say that that was some of the best chicken I have ever tasted! I can deal with rude servers when the food is good.

I came here for lunch today and was delighted by this charming little place. The staff was very friendly and were quick to keep all the glasses full. I just went with the special which was a turkey club with bacon and pepper jack cheese and a side of sweet potato fries. I thought that even though the sandwich was a little messy(that’s what napkins are for) that it was really good, and that the sweet potato fries were nice and crisp with the right amount of salt on them. The bakery items also looked extremely delicious, but I had to skip those or I’d have been in a food coma after lunch. Maybe next time I’ll just stop in for cookies and coffee. This place was a nice surprise for an out of towner.

The place is absolutely adorable! It’s located in the heart of historic downtown sweetwater, and simply very cute! The food is mediocre. They need another vegetarian option. They are pretty slow and often get orders wrong, but I think it has a lot of potential.

Looks as if it is only open for lunch. The building is very old and quaint however smells a bit musty. The food was just ok for the price. Not a favorite.

We had a fun time here. The service was very friendly and it was a great local hometown place. I had the reuben sandwich. I enjoyed it but it could use a little help. The bread was a little anemic for the sandwich. I’d suggest a more sturdy bread. The beef was cut a little thick which made the sandwich a little difficult to eat as it took an effort to bite through it and not just yank it out of the sandwich. Overall an enjoyable sandwich. The service was excellent and so friendly. We did take a nice slab of their apple cake home for a desert and it was absolutely delicious! They also had some baked goods for sale the oatmeal raisin cookies looked amazing although I didn’t try them. They also had cards etc. from local artists available for purchase as well. All in all it was a nice little lunch stop!

Compared to other places in the small town of Sweetwater, this place is outstanding. I love the way the restaurant looks, definitely taking advantage of being located in a historical building, lots of character. Food is acceptable, pretty good for Sweetwater. Service has been okay, nothing to write home about, but generally efficient. They get the high rating for the cool building, and being by far the best option in that town that I know of.

This place has potential to be better. 1) Turn off the nasty elevator music. They had Kenny G-ish music blaring the whole time. Yuck. 2) It smelled like old woman perfume in there. We thought maybe it was someone sitting near us, but when everyone left around us, it still was just an over-powering aroma. We realized that it may have been an air freshener of some sort because it never went away. A bakery/restaurant should smell like food, not a nasty, dead floral bouquet. 3) the atmosphere is supposed to quaint, but looks really 1980’s in there with hunter green and burgundy walls. Yes, I realize the name is Hunter’s and probably the reason for that color of walls… but it doesn’t look quaint in there at all, just like an outdated Shoney’s. 4) The food and the service was decent. Both could be better, but not bad. Our server was really nice but I think the kitchen was holding her up from being better… I got the black bean & cheddar wrap, it wasn’t awful but a couple of tweaks & it could’ve been really good. It looked great, black beans, cilantro, cheddar in a wrap. But it was really dry(as black beans usually are)…it needed something to moisten it up. I asked for a side of sour cream but it still needed more. I suggest a an avocado ranch spread of some sort on it or a side of salsa? Just something to liven it up a bit. Also, it came with one of their regular sides of either steak fries, sweet potato fries, or baked potato. C’mon! Be a little creative, serve a black bean wrap with some blue corn tortilla chips and a side of home made salsa! Ugh. I got the sweet potato fries which were very good but just not a good compliment to the wrap. My boyfriend got the cheeseburger & steak fries. He said the fries were good but the burger was just average and a little dry. Nothing special. My son got the lunch portion of the New York strip. It was good, but very very small. I understand it was a lunch portion, but where’s the beef?!? Lol. It was maybe 3 – 4 oz. It came with a baked potato & vegetables. My son didn’t like the vegetables at all, I tasted them & thought they were decent. Again, nothing special. Bottom line, it’s ho hum place with the potential to be great :(

I truly wanted to like this place but all I really got was ehh I’ve had better out of it. If I could seperate the bakery from the restaurant I totally would but since I can’t it’s getting lumped in with it. Ok so let me start by say the whole historic area of downtown sweetwater is amazingly cute and everyone that is on here needs to check it out. The restaurant is located in a beautiful corner building with tons of charm and character. Once inside it took 5 minutes to have our drink orders taken. I ordered the ny strip with a loaded baked potato and vegetable medley. What came from the kitchen was definitely not a strip! It was probably a half in thick and fatty. It looked like a piece of carne asada. Flavor was ok but the meat wasn’t worth what you pay. The potato seemed microwaved and had cheap cheese on it. I loooooved the chocolate chip cookies though. So if I was you maybe just grab something from the bakery and a cup of coffee.

The thing to do here is get a salad. They are delicious and that way you have room for dessert. Every time we go, my dad literally(wish I was lying) clears out the bakery counter. And then between two couples we clear out half of the box on the way home. They have some disturbingly good, buttery, large sweets that are the opposite of the food, which is on the lighter side. For our next trip to Tennessee in a month, we already have plans to go to Hunter’s on the way from the airport. Even an hour after landing is too long to wait.

This place was kind of a disappointment. The pictures online made it look nice, but once I was sitting I was shocked at how plain it was. One wall looked like it had been patched over with plaster ten years ago and left that way. Now the food… was just ok. I decided to go for the soup and half sandwich. Tomato soup and the reuben. The soup was alright, but the sandwich was completely disappointing. It was the size of a large cracker!!! Service was slow and didn’t seem to know much about the place. I would try this place one more time, but if I leave hungry again… then never.
