Swan Chinese & American Food

If I could update to zero stars I would. Went to Swans — a usual favorite — tonight 10÷10÷15. Just wanted a shrimp appetizer and large bowl of hot and sour soup. The waitress (not the owner) was surly from the moment we ordered. Guess she thought she would get a crappy tip for our small order. At this point, everything would have been okay — I can deal with surly, sometimes folks have a bad day. I noticed another customer complaining about this same waitress while we waited for our food. The shrimp arrived — wonderful as always. Then I over heard a convo between the owner and the waitress — they were out of the soup we ordered. No one came to ask if we wanted a replacement, etc. Next thing, waitress beings egg flower soup — not what we ordered so we refused it. The waitress proceeded to become confrontational. Come to find out, she wrote our order down wrong — we ordered TWO items and she got one wrong? Her attitude was we wouldn’t have gotten what we ordered anyway, so what’s the problem? She asked if we wanted a different soup. I asked what was still available and she began to get REALLY condescending. At this point I had enough of the attitude and put my hand up and told her to stop and step away. The owner finally came over and asked if we wanted anything else and I told her what happened. We received the bill dropped $ 11 on the table and left. Guess we are on the search for a new Chinese restaurant.

This is, by far, easily one of the best Chinese restaurants in the Mid-​valley. The service is great, the food is hot and delicious. Their chicken dishes are fantastic. I love the General Tao’s. You can ask for more heat and they amp it up. Make the trip, it’s worth coming here.

Nice place. Tasty food, but we were charged for a second cup of rice. They serve complimentary tea there, which is a nice touch. We ordered Kung Pao Chicken and Broccoli Beef. The service is quick and our food was out fast. I thought the staff were decent.

My family & I just moved to sweet home oregon, I pass this restaurant every day on my way to work & today finally got to chance to stop in. The staff is super friendly and we were settled fast. The food was amazing everything is hand made down to the sauces on the top. I’ve had the chance to eat real home made Chinese food cooked at home by Chinese American family’s. This is as real as it comes. We were blown away by their food & would recommend to stop in. If your looking for out of a can Panda Express style food garbage just keep driving to Albany.

Absolutely love this place, by far my favorite restaurant in Sweet Home. The portions are large and the service is always fast and friendly. The red sauce that is on the table is unbelievable and tastes good on everything!

I walked in and placed a to-​go order. I got their house special combination. Which is the most expensive combination plate. I had one item replaced and they charged me 4.50 extra. I would understand a few bucks but 4.50 is half the cost of getting a whole new entrée. Anyways. So I am trying to pay and they don’t take American Express. So I have to take another card out and pay for it. Super annoying… I asked if I could have the hot and sour soup while I wait and she said it’s only for the people who eat in the restaurant. So I paid extra and didn’t get any soup. She was so kind to let me know about this after I left the tip on the receipt. Will not be going here ever again. Terrible service and kinda a rip off.

Love all the dishes here. The price is reasonable and the sizes of the dishes are large. Service is always great here from the family that owns it. Make sure you put some of the red sauce that is on the table in the food. The combination plates are a home run here.

Blown away by how good this place was. Huge plates and decent prices. Hey have a special sauce that comes on the tables that is heavenly. Hope to make it through Sweet Home some time soon to get more dishes here. YUM!
