I haven’t had anything I don’t like there. And. The price is very good. My kids loved the all you can eat sushi special. Will even cook up dinner, gluten free.

Terrific place to sit down for a nice sushi lunch or dinner. I went with a close friend and some of her friends when visiting. I got the 3 rolls and tea for less than twenty dollars, an absolute steal in my mind. It was an excellent meal through and through. My friend got the sashimi and the others got more stir fry items. Cannot argue with any of the flavors. I enjoyed the fact that they refilled my teapot several times as well as provide plenty of wontons and fresh duck sauce. Their menu is extensive and very affordable. Will probably look to go again when in the area in the future.

The customer service here is the worst I have ever received. Food was ok, but will not be coming here again do to the bad service. The man in front for take out was extremely rude and accusatory. Don’t waste your time.

Very disappointed in the my takeout experience today. Picked up food and when I got home noticed that they missed two items. When I called them back, the counterperson’s initial reaction was accusatory and he said he did put them in the bag. I told him to ask the sushi guy and he came back on the phone and said that he couldn’t credit me the missing item unless I came back to the restaurant. I drove back and picked up the items on principle. Probably last time I will ever come to this restaurant. Go to Green Tea down the road instead.

I would say food is great but the service makes it awful. Woman at front was extremely nasty. Honesty wanted to throw the menus on floor. Extremely rude, never going back.

Great sushi, Chinese, and waiter service! Love their fresh fish, tasteful Chinese dishes, and customer service when dining in. The waiter caters to our needs before we even have a chance to ask!

Decent enough to be my go-to when I want sushi close to home. Nothing outstanding, but haven’t had anything bad either. Not worth traveling for, but if you’re in the area, it’s decent asian food. Atmosphere is nice, too. Small, intimate, but casual.

Okay, I had ordered for our office, per a suggestion from a co-worker, the sushi was below par for their spicy tuna, ie spicy CANNED tuna, shrimp tempura wasnt too bad, i had their sesame chicken(strips of chicken) was good, made to specs, the wonton soup was good, not too salty, clearer than most. I do like their little bags of separated soy sauce. Duck & utensils(see enclosed pic)

The restaurant is located in a very nice strip mall. The interior is clean, slightly dark, and very small. The sushi is very creative and flavorful and they have a wide range of meals. I had the kamikaze roll and while the flavors were good the temperature was way off. I noticed the sushi chef never closed the sliding door where the fish was stored. With sushi temperature is key and while shutting and opening the door constantly is a hassle it is necessary. The service was great and the woman who helped me was very accommodating with my take out order. I’m not sure if I will try this place again.

Tokyo Mandarin is just remarkable! It has a cozy asian décor with soft cherry petal music playing. I started with hot green tea and gyoza. They brought me a whole tea kettle! The dipping sauce for the gyoza was good. I also ordered miso soup which had lots of tiny cubes of tofu and lots of seaweed. I think it was the best I have ever had at any sushi restaurant. For my main i had two sushi rolls. A traditional Philly roll with a spicy salmon roll. The salmon roll was excellent with a spicy mayo based sauce on top. The Philly roll was plump and better than most I have tasted. The check came with a complimentary desert of sliced oranges which I call«slice of bunny orange» haha you will see. A nice presentation of orange slices where you would normally get nothing or just a fortune cookie. I did get a fortune cookie too. The staff seems to care bout the customers. I saw the cashier give a ‘cookie’ to a little boy as his dad picked up a to go order. I recommend T M and try to spot by when I am in town so should you.

I come from an area of RI where these kind of restaurants are a-plenty. Not many of them are this good. The General Tso’s chicken was very good, some of the best I’ve had. Sushi was also excellent. Very fresh ingredients, you could taste it. the waiter was a little stuffy but other than that I really can’t complain. It was a great experience all around!

Food is just ok. Nothing special. If anything is labeled spicy do not expect it to ever have any kick to it at all. Seating is also very cramped.

Ever since i have been working in the area we have tried a lot of different asian cusine. This by far of the ones we have gone with is better, Their house rice and miso salad is good, also had their Hunan chicken. That was good. i had it with a little spice kicked into it. They also make sushi there, i tried the spicy salmon and tuna rolls, and a chef special they were making… i can’t remember the name to save my life but it was good .the wasabi they give you is good. i like spicy things, add a little more kick to the meal . The dining area is small. tables are close to each other. not so much privacy, but for this being in a shopping area the places are small and they do make due. The staff is helpfull, the«sushi sensai» i like to call was helpful. Good stuff

Love the alligator roll, and the spicy tuna rolls. Never have been disappointed by any sushi rolls I have ever eaten there. I also enjoyed their chinese dishes, the ginger dinner is by far my favorite. The Glassboro location is bigger but the quality of the meals are equal, and I was happy to see that they opened a location closer to me.

Tokyo Mandarin is an excellent restaurant that serves Japanese and Chinese cuisine. The sushi here is awesome. My wife and I particularly like the spicy tuna roll and the philadelphia roll. We have tried all of the rolls and every one of them was excellent, with the exception of the lobster roll. The specialty rolls can get a little expensive(around $ 12) but are well worth it. The standard rolls are reasonably priced at around $ 5 and are also out of this world. The fish is always fresh. The seafood udon is another great option from the Japanese menu. It is loaded with scallops and shrimp and udon noodles. You have two choices of how to order the udon. I have had both and I recommend ordering it as a soup. It comes in a HUGE bowl and is a ton of food. Well worth the price. The portion seems a little smaller when ordering this for takeout, so you should try and get this one in the restaurant. General Tso’s chicken is my favorite item from the Chinese menu. I have ordered this dish from many different restaurants and this one ranks up there near the top. Other dishes I recommend are the dynamite roll, the godzilla roll, the seaweed salad and the shrimp lo mein. The shrimp lo mein is really good. The dining area is very small(maximum occupancy is 26 chairs) consisting of several tables and a sushi bar that seats about 4 people. This place is always full during lunch and dinner, so you should make reservations. I have only sat in the dining area a few times but found the service to be attentive and courteous. Take-out times average around 15 minutes. They do not deliver. I have never visited any of the other locations besides Swedesboro but would expect to find the same quality at all of their locations. Some of their locations even have a sushi buffet one night a week, but sadly the Swedesboro location is not one of them. I highly recommend this restaurant!

I am a HUGE Tokyo Mandarin fan. I used to go all the time when I was in college because I was always over at my best friend’s house and she lives five minutes away, but I unfortunately haven’t been there lately because I now have a 9 – 5 and am usually not in her area on weekends. I sure do miss it! Most dishes at Tokyo Mandarin are Chinese or Japanese, with a few Thai options thrown in for good measure. Every dish my friend, her parents, and I have tried gets a positive rating because each is well-above average. There are plenty of dishes to choose from. We always leave the restaurant feeling deeply satisfied. The only semi-negative thing about Tokyo Mandarin in Swedesboro is that the dining area is tiny. The dining area at Tokyo Mandarin in Glassboro is double the size of the one in Swedesboro. If you are coming to the restaraunt in Swedesboro to dine on a Friday or Saturday night, be prepared to wait.(I do not know if they take reservations. You’re better off doing take-out on a weekend night if all you are interested in is Asian food and not a dining experience.) There are maybe ten tables, and the quarters can be cramped. If you and your dinner date are planning on having a top secret discussion over a meal, don’t do it here — if the restaurant is busy, your neighbors will be almost on top of you and be able to hear everything if they want. Also, there isn’t a bar, but it is BYOB. With that said, I am still giving Tokyo Mandarin five stars for two reasons . First, you can’t beat their lunch specials. You can get a generously portioned Bento Box(among other things) with soup and salad for under $ 10. Secondly, I have NEVER, and I mean NEVER had Pad Thai that comes anywhere near the deliciousness level of Tokyo Mandarin’s. Pad Thai is one of my all-time favorite dishes. Their spicy chicken Pad Thai is absolutely to die for. If you are a Pad Thai fan and haven’t tried Tokyo Mandarin’s, you have absolutely no idea what you are missing!
