very rude! their open sign was on, so I walked in. apparently they were closed for the day. fine. ok. but he didnt say«sorry, we’re closed for the day. please come back tomorrow at 9»… instead, he yelled«hey! we’re closed!» never again. I live in the same town and will be spreading the word.

I usually float around between different barbers depending on what is convenient or has a seat open. However, I think I will be making Blue Line my default choice for a haircut. I was very impressed both by the cleanliness of the store and the knowledge of the barber. Unlike other barbershops, Elias(sp?), the owner, takes his time to go over your options if you’re looking for something other than the«usual.» He also stands behind his work, so if you don’t like how something came out the next day, he’ll be happy to fix it free of charge. Furthermore, if you have hair like mine which grows back in a week, he will also clean up the neck and trim free of charge so you’re looking sharp until your next major cut. He’s also just a nice guy and makes you feel comfortable. As for convenience, it is across the street from the Swampscott commuter rail stop if you’re commuting home. I wouldn’t be surprised if people took the train up from Boston just to get a great haircut for $ 16.00 that is far superior to the $ 40.00 cuts you get downtown. Definitely check this place out!

I stopped in for a haircut early afternoon this week. New to the area and like to support local businesses when I can. Took his time asking me what kind of cut I wanted and made some suggestions based on what I said. He took his time, and we had a nice chat while he cut. I also appreciate a barber who can talk and cut at the same time. The only thing that would have made the experience better would have been a hot lather straight razor shave on the neck. Can’t have everything, I suppose. The hot towel and scalp massage at the end were worthy substitutes. While he’s not open on Saturday, he caters to commuter traffic by being on Mondays and later than most barber shops(7:00p, I think). Will definitely be back.
