The best place to go in surprise. I have finally found a place the does an awesome job. Great attention to detail.

I just moved to AZ in October and have been trying to find a nail salon. I have been to a few which were okay. I came into Vicky’s Nails today and I was greeted right away. Andy did my nails. He was quick and efficient! Not to mention very kind. I’m happy I have found my nail salon! (They also have a point system which gives you $$ off after so many services!) :-)

Clean salon and reasonable prices. They are quick with services but do a nice job. They’ve offered to fix a nail if I break one at no charge. Customer service is good. Better than at many of the other salons in the area. The location is a little hard to find if you’re not local, but is well worth it once you do. I work close by so I typically stop in right after work on a week day evening. There is always someone having services done, but they are never too busy this time of day.

Went there yesterday with my 14 yr old granddaughter. they totally ripped her off. She has Aspberger’s syndrome. They charged her $ 73 for a mani-​pedi and lip and brow wax. she had art on her two big does and fingers. She had asked for a manicure but they did gels on her. they said they were giving her a $ 7 discount for working in the area. After we realized they overcharged her, they wouldn’t refund her money unless we brought her back and they took her gels off. Well, she never asked for gels and we didn’t want to take her back. They were only going t give her five dollars back. Also, they language of the two men working there was so inappropriate. They were talking about Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinski and the cigar. I was so glad my granddaughter didn’t know what they were talking about. Not professional at all. Very demeaning establishment. This just happened yesterday.

Love the service here! Been here several times, but this time I brought my 2 ½ year old Godson and they were incredible with him!

Although the service was done rather quickly, going in during the week was a good spontaneous decision. I was the only one in there and had two employees working on me at once. One doing my hands the other my feet. Again although it was done quickly, it was beautiful work and they were friendly. While waiting for nails to dry, a mini shoulder massage was given. I will be returning here.

What a terrible experience. I needed a manicure and pedicure so I decided to give this place a try. I was the only customer. The place was dirty, instruments were not sterilized. I saw the woman cleaning out the pedicure tub with a dirty cloth and water. There was so much incense burning I got nauseated. Someone was sleeping in the back and snoring loudly. It was the worse manicure and pedicure. It did not last two days. Stay away from this place.

Worst pedicure ever. Got it at 4:30 this afternoon. Already have one chipped toe. There is nail color on my skin on top of number of my toes… Vicky herself is very nice, but come on. Also, price deceiving. Chart shows $ 10 for «Classic» which I asked for. Callus removal was charted at $ 5…in the end my bill was $ 22 What!!! I even reminder her as she started doing a leg rub that I wanted the first listed pedicure. I should have complained when bill time came, but it was late, I was tired and I didn’t want to appear cheap. My bad.

I’ve driven by this place so many times and kept meaning to give it a try, so I finally stopped in last week. The only two people in the place were the women who work there and they were chatting away when I entered. I just wanted to get a quick eyebrow wax, but I was told the girl who does the waxing had already left for the day (it was only about 1pm at the time). I asked if she’d be back tomorrow and they said yes, so I told them I’d be back at the same time the next day.
When I returned the next day the same two women were the only ones in the store and busy doing each others nails. I asked about getting my eyebrows waxed and they told me the girl who does the waxing was not there. I reminded them I had been in the day before and was told she would be there. Finally the woman I had been talking to said she could wax my eyebrows if I gave her a few minutes so her wax kit could heat up. Why couldn’t she have heated up her wax when I was there the day before?
It took about 10 minutes for the wax to heat and she actually did a very good job on my eyebrows. The cost was reasonable as well — only $ 10. I just wish the service had been better, the two women acted like I (the customer) was interrupting there gossip time.
I might go back to try the $ 17 pedicure because let’s face it — that’s a good deal. To be continued…

As far as nail salons go, I rate VIcky Nails a B-​. I’d much prefer to go to Nail 09 in Mesa (off Southern Ave) but alas, an extra 40 miles for a pedicure and wax is not feasible with today’s gas prices. Check it out:
LOCATION:
right off of Grand Avenue in the Trader Joe/​Goodwill shopping area. Do not park in back and walk through laundry area. Park in front.
DECOR/​AMBIENCE:
lately they have been playing this really awful music. How can I describe it? Vietmanese elevator-​esque show tunes. Pedicure chairs are a little banged up and patched with clear packing tape. Otherwise, your run-​of-​the-​mill nail spa.
APPOINTMENTS:
don’t bother. I’ve seen people (including myself) schedule appointments only to wait another 30 minutes when business starts to pile up. DO walk-​in, but DON’T expect to be in and out of there if having mani/​pedi or fill. My grandma once needed a pedicure and a new set of acrylics put on and we were there over 2 hours.
SERVICES:
pretty average cost, pedicure is $ 17, eyebrow wax is $ 10, fill is $ 16. One woman (can’t recall her name right this moment) gives an excellent eyebrow wax that lasts upward of 3 weeks. Pedicures are nice, no chips, lasts 1 month easily; no smudging, smearing, etc.
My complain comes in my Grandma’s experiences getting her nails done here. I don’t know whether it’s her age or what, but it seems like she doesn’t get the services she wants and the quality is usually well below what I receive. The nail polish is not applied properly, smudged up on the cuticle or not even reaching the edges of her nails. She was charged for a «new set» of acrylic nails, but the actual «nail» tip was not changed out– the acrylic was soaked off and reapplied. At full price.
STAFF:
I really appreciate most of the staff’s efforts to make you comfortable and happy. That being said, I feel like sometimes they take shortcuts to get the job done. I’m surprised that after seeing my lovely face several times that they STILL don’t recognize me as a returning customer…
all in all, I’ll continue to go here as I generally receive A-​OK services. I’ll just be sure to bring a book (or ten) to help pass the time.
