This was mediocre at best. Service was rushed. Food was so so. I had the caramelized salmon. The meat was tough with a hint of fishy smell. The soup came out lukewarm and the salad was uninviting. With four stars I was very disappointed with the menu and service. I plan to stop at McDonald’s for a big Mac.

The phở here was delicious! We came with some friends who eat here regularly, and they did not disappoint. Starters were delicious too, and the tea was on point. Service was solid. Zero complaints about stopping by this tasty place.

The new renovations are great and really add to the experience. The food is great as its always been. Definitely could do with a drink menu now that they have a full bar. And styrofoam take away containers are not good for anyone.

Excellent for the family, a date or dining alone. Clean, friendly and delicious. Great, knowledgeable staff. Unique asian dishes that are made from fresh ingredients. Ask your wait what’s good, they’ll know the whole menu. It’s awesome!

Love this place, especially since they expanded. The wait has changed dramatically! Everything so far has been delicious and tasty. I wish they had more patio seating during the cool time of the year. Owner/manager is awesome and hope he sticks around.

My husband loves the salmon– the house grilled chicken is good too. There’s not a lot on menu for GF– I tried the curry chicken/rice bowl– flavor was amazing, but the chicken, peas and carrots where all previously frozen. Don’t understand why!?! If this dish was made with their house chicken and fresh peas and carrots it would be amazing!

We enjoyed a pleasant meal here. Service was prompt and friendly. Seating was relatively comfortable. We had a table not a booth — the latter looked more comfortable. This is more a «fusion» restaurant rather than traditional Vietnamese. Not a problem; just an observation. We asked for suggestions from our server. She recommended the Filet Mignon Shaken Beef which came with soup and rice and Firecracker Shrimp w/Garlic Noodles. These are two of their best selling entrees. We had an order of shrimp and pork Spring Rolls to start. Everything was tasty. They offered interesting local and regional beers. We chose two and enjoyed them(sorry, forgot what they were). Nice surprise in Surprise.

Yes! Yes there is a Vietnamese fusion restaurant in random as hell Surprise and it is absolutely phenomenal! Definitely wait for a table if this place is packed because it will be well worth your time and patience. I can’t help myself when it comes to their ginger garlic chicken wings. These things are flash fried to absolute crispy perfection. You will want to lick your plate clean after sucking it off your fingers first. My favorite dish to get each and every time I’ve been in is their firecracker shrimp with garlic noodles. This dish is what dreams are made of by far! The noodles are not too strong and are best companion to the crispy shrimp served alongside them. I never have any shrimp left over, because that would be blasphemy, but having the noodles for leftovers the next day is always a treat. This last time I went in, it was packed to the gills… but we waited it out because my gf had never been. The owner recommended his sweet and sour ribs for her and just like the chicken wings… they had this nice crispiness to the outside and juicy on the inside. Your food does take a while to come out, but that is because every thing is made completely fresh and not placed under any of those lame red lamps.

My boyfriend and I have been loyal patrons to Saigon Kitchen for some time now. Each time we go back, it gets better and better. There has not been a single dish we’ve tried that has been anything less than extraordinary. Like another reviewer here, I literally have to force myself to try something new because I like each dish that much, but each time I do I find a brand new favorite. My boyfriend is partial to the Dennis sandwich — a perfect blend of slightly spicy with fresh cilantro — and my favorite is the chicken phở. But recently, we tried the pork tenderloin special atop garlic noodles and it was outta-this-world delicious! Moreover, the staff here is truly spectacular. Personable, attentive, and full of great recommendations on what to try if you just can’t decide. We’ve come multiple times during a lunch or dinner rush and they always seem to handle the hungry masses with ease. If you’ve been debating on going here for the first time, do yourself a big favor and try it! You really can’t go wrong with this place.

We’ve been coming here a while now. What used to be one of Surprise’s best kept dining secret is no longer much of a secret. Why? Because, like many diners, every item I’ve had from the menu becomes a favorite dish. I literally have to force myself to try something different each time. Eventually I reckon I’ll make it all the way through the menu. Here’s the hard part. Chef and owner Denis always puts some new amazing dish on the menu. Tonight’s dish was rack of pork tenderloin with garlic noodles($ 20). The pork was perfectly prepared and quite delicious. Hopefully it will make it onto the menu permanently. More good news is the long awaited expansion is complete. The seating inside and out is easily doubled as is the bar. This place rocks.

The service was great. The food however, had some major flaws. I got the combo Phở and there was nothing but fat intend of steak; also found a hair in mouth my after taking a scoop of soup. Upon finishing, my girlfriends chicken Phở also had a hair strand. Will not go back again for those reasons.

Came here to try their much talked about Phở but settled on something else. Nonetheless, this place was Phở-nomenal! Location & Aesthetics — located on Bell Road(corner of Bell and Litchfield) between Longhorn Steakhouse and Carrabba’s. It might be easy to miss from Bell Road because what you see from Bell Road is the rear of some(not all) of the restaurants as their facades face south. The sign to the restaurant is large enough from Bell Road so I’m thinking you won’t miss it. Even if you miss it while traveling west, it’s not a problem and very easy to make a U-turn on Bell as there are enough U-turn options available on the road. Lots of parking in the rear, and the parking lot was well lit. The interior of the restaurant is well-lit if you’re dining in the evening as we were, and I’m guessing if you’re dining in for lunch too, you won’t have a problem as the restaurant is surrounded with glass windows. There is also the option to dine alfresco at the side of the restaurant. Normally I would minus a point here as the restaurant was on the small side and felt cramped however the owner — Dennis did come around and happened to introduce himself to us, asked how we knew of the place and picked it(told him Unilocal of course!), as well as indulged in some small talk, and did mention that he was expanding the place by taking over the space next door which will be occurring mid-December to sometime in January, and even extended a personal invitation for us to attend the grand re-openinging. The place was also exceptionally clean. The noise level was average as it was a Friday evening but wasn’t overly loud that I couldn’t hear anyone in my party. Despite the place being really busy for a Friday evening, I didn’t notice anyone having to wait for seating. Service/Menus — menus were provided to us as by our waitress soon as we were seated. Very easy to read and understand. Even our questions were answered promptly. Our waitress took our drink orders immediately and gave us time to think about what we wanted to order. Drinks came promptly and our waitress even saved us some money. We came in a minute before happy hour was finished(3 – 6PM). Thankfully our waitress put in our drink and appetizer orders just in time so we ended up paying a little less(Happy Hour prices) for those items. Food/Drinks — For libations, I ordered the orange martini which was delicious and not too tart. For appetizers, we ordered the shrimp & pork spring rolls(2 and its cut in half so you end up having 4 bites) — lettuce, bean sprouts, rice vermicelli, and mint served with a peanut sauce dip — very tasty particularly the ingredients added to the rolls like the mint and bean sprouts which served to enhance the tastiness of the shrimp and pork. The rice vermicelli also gave the rolls a particularly nice transparent appearance. For the main course, I thought I was going to have the Phở but instead settled for the Filet Mignon Shaken Beef — which is seared cubed beef tenderloin marinated in their house special soy, and served on a sizzling skillet with onions. When this part of the dish, came out, it was sizzling and I even had folks who were passing by asking me if I ever had this dish and commenting on how great it is, and it’s the only thing they order when they’re there. By itself, the beef was tender, moist, juicy, and very flavorful. The soy wasn’t overpowering or too salty, and the onions were sautéed beautifully and not burnt at all. They will ask you how you want the beef cooked, and for me it was medium, and it was done exactly like that! It was also recommended by the wait staff to mix the lime and salt and pepper that comes with the dish first, then use that to dip the beef in(as an option) to enhance its flavor. I tried it and they were correct in that it did seem to multiple the flavor(s) tenfold! This dish is also served with jasmine rice which was warm, fresh, sticky(as rice should be in my opinion) and very tasty; a side salad; and a scallion broth which was hot and just the right thing to clear those sinuses(though mine wasn’t in need of clearing). Well, my intentions were to come here to sample their Phở and despite that not happening, I don’t have any regrets coming here at all. As promised to the owner, I will return to try their Phở!

The service is slow and non attentive. If you can get over that the food is delicious. We had the chicken phở, very flavorful and great portions. The marinated pork spring rolls were fresh and served with a delicious peanut sauce. The bun(rice noodles with other delicious items) was great. The pork was some of the best pork I have ever tasted. The fried egg rolls had a great crispy outside and delicious fresh inside.

Wanted a warm bowl of phở on this cold AZ day. Stopped in and order the hot tea to start. Definitely not your traditional tea served at some restaurants that is brewed in kettle and poured into small tea cups. No, this came in a tea bag steeped in a coffee mug. The décor right down to the presentation of the food has an air of modern/chic. The plate of accouterments(hoisin sauce, siracha, bean sprouts, etc) was compartmentalized on a plate and made it difficult to scoop both the sauces from it. The presentation did detract from the normal, heaping portions of hoisin sauce that I dump into my phở. I decided not to ask for more thinking that I may have been overdoing it all of these years, but alas, I could barely taste it. I did order the large phở thai(thin cuts of steak cooked by the broth), but it only came with 5 pieces of meat that were a little larger than a silver dollar. I’d hate to see what I’d get with the small. Overall, the noodles were cooked well and the broth was delicious leaving me thoroughly warmed. This was a nice place to have lunch and a welcome change from the typical caddy of chopsticks and soup spoons at the table with a diner style napkin dispenser.
