Breakfast review– Very pleased with breakfast. We are picky egg eaters and all three orders were very different and were cooked perfectly. Shredded hash browns were yummy. Reasonable prices, quick friendly service.

I am very surprised that this restaurant has not been reviewed more. The food was delicious! We had the gyros both with house salads. I knew it was going to be great when the greek dressing that we requested on the side, had big chunks of feta floating in it. The owner/server told us that his Mother made all the dressings and sauces. the pita, for our gyros were soft and they did something to the onions in it because they were very mild and not too oniony. We finished by sharing a bakalava which was perfect. The food is an A+. My criticism comes from the building exterior and indoor décor. It is an old Tacobell and really still looks that way. The windows have painted words on them and the interior booths are very orange. That is the only reason it took us so long to stop in. That is a mistake I won’t make again. No judging a book by it’s cover. Can’t wait to try the other things on the menu. The check was inexpensive. I would really love for them to stay open past 4. This would be a great place to pick up dinner from on the way home.

The Chicken Pita is delicious! Huge Menu also. You can take an hour to decide if you normally take a while to order at other restaurants.

You will be so glad you stopped in to this little local restaurant owned and operated by a Greek family! The food is freshly prepared and amazingly good. The grilled pork chops were moist and tasted wood grilled. The fried cod was generous and crispy. The homemade soup — delicious! But the Baklava that mama makes is the best I’ve ever tasted. She makes the soup, dressings, Tzatziki sauce and souvlaki too. Very friendly, knowledgeable service. Very modest prices. You have to give it a try!

A Greek family, actually from Greece, converted a Taco Bell into one of the most unique eateries on the Grand Strand. Everything is made from scratch and the Gyros are Mama’s recipe with her family sauce. Does Greek cooking get any better than this? My first visit to Tasty Platter, which, by the name, does not do this place justice, was for breakfast. The owners are a wonderful married Greek couple, who do all the cooking, and their sons work the dining room. George was my server for breakfast and greeted me warmly and asked me what I wanted to drink. I love good service and George nailed it. I ordered from their breakfast menu and was pleased to see that they had«hash brown potatoes». If you frequent Greek Diners, you understand the difference between home fries and commercial hash browns. These are hand cut and sautéed to perfection, not in lard, but in oil. They are spectacular if you ask for them well done, you are going to Potato Heaven. I had three eggs over, and they were perfect. The sausage patties were different but very good. Not your standard pancake house sausage, but freshly made. I opted for toast, but will try a biscuit next time. When you can get food that is prepared by the owners, service by their sons, in one of the cleanest eateries around, you have the makings of a great restaurant. I like to try the breakfast at a new place and if it’s good, know that the lunch and dinner are going to be top notch. I will be back for a Gyro and some other of my favorite Greek specialties, and I am sure I will not be disappointed. Oh yes, and their prices are great. You won’t break the bank here and you will not be disappointed for breakfast. Lots of great Greek here. Next review here will have pictures, for sure. If you’re in Surfside Beach, this is a «must try». Hospitality, great staff and as clean as my mother’s house. Another home run for Tasty Platter. You scored a ten in my book. MacDaddy loves this place. Try it and you will add it to your list. Mac

Our last day here and we try this little diner, what a surprise. You know how you start missing your home cooked meals after traveling for several weeks. Well, this place was just like home, friendly staff and a very clean place, plus very good food. We had the pot roast… it came with soup, cornbread and two sides. My sister had mashed potatoes and I had turnip greens both tasted home made and the roast was so tender with just the right amount of gravy. I’m not sure why they didn’t get better reviews but I’m glad I didn’t read them before I ate there.

Decided to give this place a try after driving by it every day for months since they opened. They really don’t have much curb apeal on the outside to draw you in, and the same can be found on the inside. Very plain. Including the food. The hashbrowns were undercooked, and taste d of cheep cooking oil as did the toast. Not shure why you would use oil in place of butter on toast. Service was excellent and everyone was very friendly, however i don’t think i would go back. Too many other options for breakfast in surfside.
