Smokey’s Bar BQ

When I call to check your hours and you have a recording saying you are open everyday except Tuesday, and show up and you’re closed on a Wednesday — it makes me furious. Luckily Shore Fire Grille was open and is delicious.

I popped into Smokey’s this afternoon after hearing great things and reading the positive reviews. I took home a rack of ribs and sweet Jesus were they ever delicious! I’m generally not a fan of dry rub ribs but these were so moist and delicious that I didn’t even need the BBQ sauce they included on the side (although it was super tasty)! I’ll definitely be going back to try the pulled pork and brisket.

Hands down the best BBQ I have ever had! I grew up on North Carolina BBQ and after 21 years living in NJ– I never thought I would be able to find decent BBQ up here. Smokeys is the leanest, juiciest and best tasting BBQ I have ever had. The ribs are dry rubbed not messy and fall off the bone delicious, the beef brisket perfectly smoked and tender, melt in your mouth, and the pulled pork! Super lean, no fat delicious! You have to try the smoked turkey salad too– barely any mayonnaise and delicious smoked taste. This is my favorite go to place when I have a mob to feed. Sure to please a crowd!

Pretty delicious! I recently had a smoked brisket sandwich from Smokey’s Bar B Q and really enjoyed it. Really moist and juicy sandwich and a choice of a number of sides (Cole slaw is my fave). Five of us ordered a medium-​sized take-​out order recently and got brisket sandwiches, ribs, and pulled pork sandwiches. Nom nom nom! So delicious. A great meal all around. The only reason I’m docking a star is that my fiancé and I had previously visited this place, hoping to get bbq but stood in a very long line that didn’t budge because the only person working that day was in the middle of a lengthy chit chat session with the customers in front of us. We didn’t get any bbq and just left that day, but I’m glad we were finally able to visit again and get some delicious bbq! I definitely recommend it if you’re on LBI.

Best baby back ribs we’ve had in a long time!!! They just melt in your mouth! Pulled pork sandwich was superb! Way to go Smokey’s! We will most certainly be back!!!

OMG!!! Might be the best BBQ I’ve ever had. I got the pulled pork sandwich with a side of close slaw. Both were fantastic but when I actually put the cole slaw on the sandwich all bets were off! I will definitely be back and bringing others to enjoy with me. I really liked that the pork wasn’t drowned in BBQ sauce so I could taste the flavor of the meat. And the two gentlemen working there were super friendly and even made suggestions on what sides would pair nicely with which meats. The only thing I wish is that there was a table or two inside to eat at. The food is all to go and we are at a picnic table across the street. Even with the no tables I still give them 5 stars bc of the food and the service!!!

Wow! Just wow! The beef brisket is incredible! My GF picked the pulled pork which was equally as fantastic! The smell as soon as you walked in is very titillating and the friendly Customer service from the staff is very welcoming.
My only complaint is that there wasn’t any real seating areas but across the street there was a picnic table setup that I sat at. Best bbq at the Jersey Shore without question!

A great place to go if you’re on the island and want tender and flavorful ribs and brisket! Both are products of an equal focus on meat and sauce quality. I went back a second time and tried the hand pulled pork and happily ate a moist and tender sandwich with a distinct, smoky flavor– good balancing act there! The place is very clean– service quick and with smiles all around! I’ve tried BBQ in many states in the south and Smokeys could open up down there and ride the bull with the best of them! I will go back– and so should you!

First off, I know if your reading this your wondering if the food was worth it. Well let me get right to the point, I can say that eating at Smokey’s Bar BQ was well worth it. Head over there now! Given how delicious and reasonably priced the food is, you’ll leave feeling like you looted the place. Also, the staff is very friendly and accommodating.
I stopped into this LBI BBQ palace on vacation. The moment you walk into this place you know you are in for a treat. As you open the door, you are treated to a wonderful smokey BBQ smell that will be sure to get your mouth watering and bring back nostalgic memories of summer!
There were a number of different options to choose from; pulled pork, ribs, brisket, turkey breast, and turkey salad to name a few. I went with a pulled pork sandwich and turkey salad. The pulled pork very was very good. The pork was moist, tender, juicy, and very flavorful. The turkey salad was also really amazing. I am not sure you can find anything as good as Smokey’s turkey salad on either side of the Mississippi. Simply put, both my food choices were phenomenal.

No chewing necessary– this brisket melts in your mouth! I got a «sandwich combo» with a side of smokey’s beans and a classic root beer. I was so surprised to get a taste of the pulled pork in the side of beans! The shop may be small but the flavor coming from this place is outta this world!

I have eaten here two times. Have had the pulled pork, beans and ribs. The food is very good, as is the service. Also, the place is immaculate and the owner takes great pride in his product.
The only thing that I was not in love with were the beans — a little runny and I would have loved some meat in there. With that said, they were still pretty good.

Delicious!!! Ordered a smörgåsbord of BBQ tonight to bring home for the family, and the conclusion was that this place is a home run! The smoked turkey in particular was my favorite paired with the baked beans and potato salad. The best part is that Smokeys gives great flavor without being overly salty. Definitely will return!

Simply said, by far the best, most meticulously prepared food on LBI. Brian doesn’t skimp on his product. Only the best ingredients are used. Could eat his food, every day.

We had a barbeque on LBI and we didn’t feel like cooking so we decided to call Smokies BBQ. wow was it a huge hit All of our guests demanded they knew where the food came from. we also had two trays of pulled pork which was out of this world. perfectly cooked, tender It stayed very well throughout the day. I also ordered 10 racks of ribs which was smoked and dry rubbed beyond to perfection. I t was just out of this world. Can’t wait to go back.
