Beach Glass Cafe

We are early risers and wanted breakfast before the buffet opened so we came down here after eyeballing the menu. I had my heart set on fried chicken and biscuits, but unfortunately they had taken them off the menu. Second choice: ham, cheddar and mushroom omelet, hasbrowns and a biscuit. BF got the meatlover omelet, hashbrowns and toast. Omelets were generously filled (why do they cut the ham in to such tiny squares though??), and the hashbrowns were a perfectly round patty, and golden on both sides. I ate half of everything on my plate and brought it all home to enjoy the next day. Server was super friendly and prices were great. A good alternative if you don’t want to stuff yourself at the buffet.

Service was friendly during our three visits here. Occasionally AWOL, but still friendly. This café has an advantage over other dining options at Clearwater, if you’re a nonsmoker: it’s smoke-​free. Lovely views of the resort grounds and Agate Pass are had on two sides of the dining room.
There were annoyances with each meal, though. First, I never got a satisfactorily-​cooked strip of bacon out of these people, in two breakfasts with them. The first breakfast, I ordered a side of bacon that they didn’t deliver, and I had to reorder it after my breakfast arrived. While a fine, meaty, smoky, quality bacon, it was limp and pink. Nope. (I like my bacon like my men: dark and firm.) The second breakfast, French toast, came with bacon… so I made very sure to ask for that bacon to be cooked «crisp, almost burnt.» Denied. The bacon again arrived pink and flaccid. It was… it was… college Homecoming Week all over again.
At dinner, they did to my steak what they should’ve done to my bacon: cooked the s*** out of it. I ordered a steak salad, steak medium. I got about four to five ounces of well-​done steak over two grilled hearts of romaine with some chopped tomatoes. This salad really could’ve used some thinly-​sliced red onions, and maybe some cucumbers, carrots, or mushrooms, as these are great complements to the blue cheese dressing that came with the salad. As it was, with no flavor beyond tomatoes, and the steak overcooked, it was a bit dull.
The drip coffee was impressive, as it happens. I tried to order a decaf latte, but though they have decaf coffee, they can’t make you espresso with it, just drip. I’m assuming that’s because the espresso machine takes only coffee pods.

Terrible service all the way around! I literally had to yell across the hospital like cafeteria just to get a refill of my coffee, no joke. I ordered the smoked salmon egg Benedict. The salmon was super dry but that’s not the worst part. A bird ate half my meal as I was taking a picture of the water. They refused to replace my meal! I can not believe it! Never coming back!

We are spending a couple days at the resort casino here, decided to skip the usual buffet run most people do and try and them out. It has beautiful views of the bay and great outdoor seating. We chose to sit outside and ordered hot wings to start with– 13 came in an order for around $ 10. Food comes out quickly, service is good. They have limited all day breakfast menu, which I didn’t bother reading the limited part and lead my husband astray and said sure go for the omelet at noon, which is not on the limited menu. The waitress was nice enough to go ask if they would make it for him anyway and they did, so that was cool of them. I ordered the prime rib sandwich which was one the best ones I have ever had, the bread looked like it was going to be hard but was really soft and complimented the meat well. It comes with a side of fries. The Only negative was I ordered a side salad and never got it, we were so busy diving into the wings I spaced it until the check came and it wasn’t on there so that’s ok.
They are open til midnight and have a pretty extensive menu. They are part of the new addition to the Clearwater casino. If you are in the area it would be worth a good lunch and view even if you aren’t gambling. This place is small and easy to get around.
