Great pizza… horrible customer service. **update below** I’ve been a loyal customer of Sal’s pizza for years now and I’m just baffled with how they treated me in this situation. I visited a friends home and was bragging about how delicious Sal’s pizza was. After about 30 mins of me ranting and raving about this pizza, he reluctantly decided to give it a try. My friend lives 5 mins east of me on the same main road(Oakland park) so I didn’t think twice when I called and asked for delivery. The associate kindly placed my order and I ended the call. 5 mins later the manager calls me explaining that the associate had made a mistake, that my friends address was outside their delivery range but she had a driver willing to drop it off to us because he just so happened to be getting off of work and lived in the area. Awesome! We tipped the driver well and thanked him to coming out of his way to drop our pizza off. ONE week later, I called to place an order, this time to my apartment, which they’ve delivered to TENS of times, only to be told that I live too far!!! I requested to speak to a manager that proceeded to ask me for my address AGAIN to confirm, place me on hold, only to come back and say that they could indeed deliver to my address miraculously(Sans an apology for the confusion, might I add) but it will take over an hour to arrive(all saying this with a tone of voice like he’s doing me a FAVOR by delivering to me). I kindly declined his offer and made a note to never give them any of my business again. Don’t get me wrong, their pizza is amazing but for me, if you’re wrong or mistaken, own up to it, apologize and go out your way to make the customer happy. Thats what I THOUGHT customer service was all about. That’s how you’ll get continual business and pull in MORE customers. When customers have a bad experience, especially over simple customer service, it doesn’t reflect well on the establishment OR future customers that consumer may influence. Hence this review :/ ***Update: The manager that helped me the first night when they delivered to my friends address called and apologized which I appreciated tremendously. For her to go out her way and do that on behalf of Sal’s pizza makes me love them even more!!***

Ordered a pepperoni pizza, they advised wait was an one 1:15 which I was fine with. Pizza came, guy was paid and tipped, open pizza it was the wrong pizza. Still really didn’t care. Called them up to let them know I just paid $ 26.00 for the wrong order and they simply said sorry and didn’t care. So here is the review. Stick to Disalvos or Mineos for future orders.

The smell every time that front door opens outside Panera urged me to stop by here and try it out. Super friendly staff and great décor inside. Came by for lunch & lunch deals were happening from 11−4pm. They had pages & pages of dishes, I didn’t know where to start. Salads, Pizza combos, pasta, anti-pasta or soups… hmmm I ordered the Lasagna and had a choice of soup or Salad; soup choice was Tomato Basil and came with(3) garlic rolls, not bad! Lasagna came out bubbly and steaming hot, very meaty and saucy… made to perfection My coworker ordered a pizza&salad combo with garlic rolls to start that came in a batch of(6) thats alot!!! Super garlicy and fresh! My boss then ordered(10) hot wings and slice of pizza, super hot and fresh! Not bad for an Italian Restaurant for lunch. next team meeting will be here! Yes! ;0)

Amazing! The food was great and the service was just as amazing. Our waitress was great, she was so attentive and extremely friendly. The food was great, everything fresh and delicious! Glad we stopped here for dinner.

It was only my first time eating there so I don’t want to make a big deal… But I LOVE chicken franchese… I REALLYREALLYDO… And I offered it here. 1st they put it on the wrong type of noodles. I wanted linguini and they used fettuccini. The type of noodle can make or break a dish. Then they didn’t even give me any plasticware for my take-out lunch. Thank goodness I had an extra at work. The pasta fagioli was horrible. It tasted like Chef Boyardee from a can. Okay, I lie. ITWASWORSE! Eww. So disappointed. Oh and before I had a chance to eat the meal, and was still excited, I brought a menu with me to the office to share because I like promoting good food. I read the takeout menu and the $ 10 meal I ordered which I pod $ 12 for was listed at 18.99. WHODOESTHAT? Talk about serious disappointment. And don’t even get me started on the garlic rolls. Okay so here is a photo of my elegant meal which was a disaster.

Always get pizza here and it’s always good. Yea I can go cheaper with Pizza hut, Dominos or papa John’s but their pizza sucks. Like it nice and thin with fresh toppings. I’ll be back!

I always come here for the 7.99 lunch special. it is a bargain for the price. I always get the salad with the Italian dressing and the Italian sub and cheese pizza. the pizza is soo good, the crust is thin, cheese perfectly melted, the salad toppings are always fresh and sub is topped with plenty of meat and fills me up everytime. I love coming here for that special alone, I’ve never had the opportunity to try the rest of the menu but I’m definitely going to come back to try something else.

I love the service, the ease in and out. Sal’s gives back to the community too! I have only had great food from this place.

When you are so hungry and your food comes raw, I liked this place but this time even the meatballs came red in the middle what a disappointment, this is how people get E. coli

Really great place for lunch as the portion sizes are pretty substantial and the staff is very friendly.

My wife and I came here for lunch and were greeted quickly. This place is an eat in or take out hybrid. We chose our seats and ordered a few items off the menu. The service was fine and attentive. The first two items we ordered were the parmesan chicken wings. The window said they were voted best wings. I would argue… We also ordered some bruccetta*. Now I enjoyed the wings just fine however my wife thought they were dry. These wings were medium size and the crispiness was even. There were a few over cooked wings but they still had some good flavor. I did enjoy their homemade blue cheese. Well maybe not homemade but it wasn’t the cheap stuff that most places use. The bruccetta was ok. Nice flavor but lots of bread. This item came out looking very nice. I ordered two slices of white pizza while my wife ordered some onion soup. Her soup was very bland. Not sure if it was a bad batch of what but every other item we tried had a strong taste. My pizza had an over powering flavor of garlic. I thought it was good but I desperately needed to brush my teeth after this one. All of the above was only $ 29. So good prices. We were stuffed. Sure we would go back again. But only out of convenience.

I have to say, this place has to have the worst customer service. I purchased a coupon book that Sals advertises in. Buy one pizza get one free. Well I ordered a pizza and they said I have to order 3 toppings 26 dollars later I got a cheese pizza free! Plus they charged for delivery. I could have ordered 3 pizzas anywhere else for the Same price. Very rude on the phones as well. Had to do multiple orders to get more than 1 pizza delivered to the same place and they charged a second delivery fee as well. Fool me once. Shame on you!!! Never again!

Have dined in and ordered delivery a few times. Nice inside. Staff seems a little inexperienced, but nice. The food is good, but a little pricey. My son orders a kids pasta, which isn’t much, that costs $ 9. He enjoys it, but I’m still not getting my money’s worth. Pizza is priced great and tasted great! Overall the food is pretty good, just some menu items are overpriced. Will continue to go.

First few times we ordered we loved the food. Last 2 times, terrible. Last time we ordered it was delivered cold and the salmon bruschetta had NO bruschetta. They re delivered only the salmon, we had to reheat everything else. Against my better judgement, we ordered again tonight. $ 78 worth of food. The chicken florentine had NO flavor and the pasta it came with had no sauce, not that it would’ve mattered, I added butter and garlic it still had no flavor. Just threw away all their menus. Will NOT order from this place again. I’d order mediocre Italian over this any day.

Really, 3.5 I have eaten in the restaurant 2x… both times at lunch having a special. First time had the ‘world famous’ lunch special. It is a slice of pizza, ½ sub and salad or soup. I tried the eggplant parm. It was a little mushy… but I am very picky about eggplant parm. Salad was good… loved the balsamic vinaigrette. Pizza was pretty good. I like that they serve pizza by the slice. Reasonably priced for lunch and for the amount of food… plus they have a buy 9 get 10th meal free(double punches on Mondays)…service was a little weird and we never were able to figure out who our server actually was, since 3 people took care of is and the person who took our order never came back… even after she offered us rolls(which we never received). 2nd time went by myself. Service was on point. Had the Sicilian and salad special. It was okay. Wouldn’t really order again. It wasn’t bad… just not the best. Salad was nice and fresh. In between visits we had a catering order. Everything was DELICIOUS! Food arrived hot and on time. They did forget a few things(minor things) and gave us a penne instead of linguine. We called. They returned in 10 minutes with 2 large linguine servings and the missing red pepper & parm cheese. Great service! Would definitely order catering from them again.

Lasagna was excellent prepared with fresh ingredients and tasty flavor, but mantains that home-made touch. Service is good and the ambiance really nice.

Sitting at the table right now! They close in two hours and they told me they stopped serving pizza by the slice. How does a Italian joint stop selling pizza by the slice? Salads are $ 10+ and pastas $ 15+! My friend wasn’t even close to be done eating when the waiter gave him a to go box and the check(we were going to get desert)! Then he apologized that I didn’t get my food, TOMYFRIEND, didn’t even look at me when he apologized! My friends calzone was not good, the fried mozzarella tasted worse than bowling alley mozzarella sticks. Absolutely ridiculous, will never come back and will never recommend this place to anyone.

Good food at a great price. The ambiance is laid back and the service is fast and friendly. We ordered the garlic roll. They were ok, but nothing out of this world. Missing more kick. The tomato soup was creamy and warm and really hit the spot. Flavors werent overpowering and mixed in a really yummy way. The pizza was great. The cheese was good quality and the sauce was just right. Great place to hit up before a concert!

Unilocal, you come through again! Moving into a new area it is tough when you don’t know where to grab a bite to eat. I whip out the Unilocal app, see Sal’s and say…“You know what, I can do Italian tonight.” At my old place we found this awesome Italian place that made amazing dishes but even better canolis. Now that that location is 45 miles away, we won’t be going there anymore… but thank god we got Sal’s! I ordered over the phone for a pick up. The guy on the phone was so polite(I see that’s how it’s done up here) and told me it would be ready in 15 minutes. I live 2 minutes away. Got there, picked it up and for $ 26 we got: 2 Soups — Broccoli cheese and eggplant. Eggplant a little salty but they were both good. 2 orders of bread — got garlic and non-garlic rolls. GARLIC is the way to go! 1 Lasagna — Large dish that I almost couldn’t finish — but the combo of being hungry and it being SO good was enough to make me scrape the aluminum container. 1 Stuffed Raviolis — About 6 large raviolis stuffed with riccotta in a delicious red sauce(and I hate red sauce, but this was goooood.) 2 Canolis — they were HUGE! Had a subtle hint of cinnamon. They were good… not convinced they were GREAT — but I am willing to try them again to make sure… Oh, the things I do for Unilocal! Overall it was a great Italian meal and will be our go to spot when ordering Italian. Looking forward to trying other dishes.
