Oh dear. I walked in super excited to get my hands on all my favorite Korean items. Right when I walked in I knew this place was not for me. The Banchan selection was slim… I’m talking like 5 items that where all packaged a month before… I found my favorite(fish cake) but with a closer look I saw that it had MOLD! Commeeeee on… do they not look at their refrigerated items? Ever? The store wasn’t clean, the isles were messy… and overall the selection was slim. The guy at the counter was plenty nice… but that’s not gunna help when you got the mega amazing Oriental Market about a mile up the road! Come on guys get it together.

I am really surprised at the positive reviews this place has received perhaps it was nice when it first opened but their quality has declined since. I came here on a weekend on a whim as we passed by it heading somewhere as I am always on the lookout for good oriental grocers or restaurants. We went in, and we were the only customers around the small shop. Their air condition was on very low, I guess to save money on electricity. But the fridges were not cold enough either. The shelves were poorly stocked and the pre-made stuff seemed like they were sitting there for awhile. The Kimbap(korean sushi) was all dried up, you can clearly tell it has been sitting there probably for the entire day. I got some rice cakes, they were decent. But I probably would never come back to this place in fear of food poisoning. I suggest people go to this cleaner/better stocked/larger korean grocers here: They usually give you a free yogurt drink with purchase too.

I ususally come here for the meat because Oriental Mart’s meat section is lacking. I wish I knew the names of all the cuts of the cow because it would be cheaper to go to Penn Dutch and ask the butcher to cut up the meat in the galbi and bulgogi style. Although Namkane is much smaller, they have all the essential Korean items I’m looking for. They have a good selection of pre-made items.

I ordered some food from this market for my daughter’s Baek-il and the jap chae, mandu, and galbi were excellent! We needed enough for 30 people and they had everything prepared for us to pick up as scheduled. The food was fresh and very tasty, all of my guests LOVED it! My mom was impressed with the taste and quality of their prepared foods, and she is a hard one to please! I will definitely return to this market to get my Korean fix!

Very nice selection of tteok, jook and other banchan. Namkane is more expensive than Oriental Mart but Oriental Mart lacks the selection of tteok and jook. At Oriental Mart I only saw one kind of tteok and yukgaejang(no actual jook though). Any other foods(especially frozen) can probably be found for the same price and almost more often than not cheaper at Oriental Mart.

This is a great spot for getting Asian specialties to make at home. Lots of great value & interesting snacks to try. Premade dishes & bakery items too. Frozen edamame, mochi ice cream, pork buns are some of our faves. Also the ingredients for kimchee, bibimbab & pajun. I think I spelled tjat all correctly, but they are some of our favorite dishes we order at Gabose Korean restaurant & can make them at home. To clarify: my hubby makes them, he’s the cook, not me!

Came here today and loaded up on banchan and soft tofu. All of their banchan look fresh and are all dated, better than Oriental Mart! I would definitely do regular 40 mile drives up here to stock my fridge.

For all your Korean(and maybe Japanese) cuisine needs, this place is IT. And it may be the only place. Coming from Southern California, land of huge Ethnic super shopping markets, Namgane is a little on the small side. Given the not-so-huge South Florida Korean population, this place suffices. The banchan(Korean side dishes) sold here is superb because it’s got that home made taste. You can’t get the same taste from bigger markets that like to mass-produce their banchan. Overall, not a bad place to shop… because it’s one of the few places to shop for Korean groceries.

a smaller version of the Oriental Mart a mile away… mostly korean(and some japanese goods) it’s the Korean lady local market, you might see a few there on shopping dates… they have bakery stuff, shrink-wrapped pre-made stuff, rice cakes(dok), etc. nice banchan, including kimchee in various states of fermentation got all the frozen meats available for cooking your own kalbi good variety of frozen stuff — stock up on dumplings, noodles, pancake mix, etc.
