Great service. Great food. Buffet was $ 11.95. Love the fact that the server working there was a foodie! If you download their app, you get a free dessert. Would highly recommend!

It was the worst Mediterranean food I’ve ever had. It seems like they use imitation meat. I was so disappointed.

The worst place ever to eat, don’t even think to eat from this place, go to McDonald’s much better, they take for ever to bring the food, the service is so bad. If you decide to go eat before you come.

I had seen this establishment on the TV show«Check Please». I know absolutely nothing about Persian food and I rarely go out West, but while out there for business, I decided to give it a try I got there about 530 and sat at the bar to eat. The bartender was very sweet and she tried to direct me through the menu. A gentleman came by to also assist me with the menu and made suggestions I followed Service was attentive I started with the Crispy Rice which was discussed at length on the TV broadcast. They have 2 different toppings Beef and Green Herb & Yellow Split Pea Pomegranate for $ 1 extra. Both very tasty and the crispy rice is a must try For dinner I had a combination of the beef and chicken kabob over their special white and green rice I’m not a big rice fan but loved this. The beef was so tender I could have had another one. The chicken had an interesting Peruvian flavor that I enjoyed You can’t leave here without dessert. I had the vanilla Rollet. It’s obviously fresh and melts in your mouth The décor is nice, giving you an outdoorsy courtyard feel by the bar area. Very cute. If you haven’t tried this place it’s worth the effort. I heard the lunch buffet is a good way to get an idea of much of what they have to offer. Prices reasonable

Do yourself a favor and get the crispy rice with the beef stew for an app. It was one of the favorite things I’ve had in awhile. Our waitress Chelsea was so sweet and attentive. We will definitely add this place to our dinner rotation. Can’t wait to try a rollet.

Delicious food. Crispy rice was fantastic as was the hummus. The kitchen was slow but the food was well worth the wait. Wine was yummy and $ 4.00 for the Cabernet Sauvignon. Music was delightful.

I dont get it. Sorry. I eat a lot of middle-eastern food and I love it. This was just a very mediocre and poorly run buffet and at $ 16 a head theres no value. My biggest gripe is the selection. More than a third of the choices are taken up by lettuce and salad. The only real entrees they provided were beef and chicken kababs which were juicy but no real pazaz. I didn’t crave more. Then there was a green sauce and brown sauce meat dish both were good, not great. The bread isnt fresh or interesting it appears to be store bought flat bread. Not warm or anything special. The hot sauce is siracha(no homemade hot sauce) and the desert was a chocolate flavored store bought wafer. Thats it. That’s the buffet. Unfortunately not one interesting dish. Maybe they have given up? Nice people but Theres better ways to spend money. Especially at $ 16 a person.

Went for the highly recommended lunch buffet. It was good food and good value. It was a quiet lunch, only about 5 tables in a large restaurant were occupied. The waitress was helpful to us first timers, explaining the process and t he menu items. THis place is tucked in a corner of a strip center and not very visible from University Drive so be sure to use the GPS. I wanted to take photos and get more specific so I returned with a friend for a friendly Friday lunch. It was closed, I am not sure if it is routinely closed at Friday lunch, the hours of operation were not posted and I did not see closed Fridays anywhere. Needless to say I was disappointed and that is why I took so long to do this write up, I wanted that second visit under my belt. So it is a good place for lunch but double check before you go.

Decided I wanted real food for a meal and opted for the veggie kabob. Using Unilocal online ordering made everything really simple. I ordered carry out, and everything was packaged nicely. The food was delicious, especially the lavash bread with parsley salad. The inside looks fun, and I would certainly return for a dine in visit.

8⁄10. Dinner. Four(or five) visits and one take-away. I’ve visited this location a number of times now. I used to live nearby. I have consistently been impressed by the quality of the food here. I love Persian food and seek it out wherever I go, so I’m very familiar with the menu. The service here is charming and helpful, and usually quite informative. The food is excellent – they have all of the classics: barg, kubideh, tahdig and all of the rice dishes(polo). They have bellydancing and other entertainment at the weekends. The one thing that irritates me about this place is its location. It’s far away from everything, even for West Broward standards, and it is in a bizarre strip mall across from Hooters on University Drive, just north of Oakland Park. They used to have a much better all be at smaller location on sunrise Boulevard and University Drive and there is an entire story to that. Just ask them what happened to the old location and see if they tell you.

Great venue. Décor was up to standards for this style restaurant. Big TV on one side. Bar on the other. Seated immediately and asked for quick service to catch a movie. Done deal! Full bar with great happy hour specials served well after 7pm. I ordered the falafel sandwich with salad on the side. Falafel sandwich was pretty good, not overcooked/fried so it wasn’t dryed out. Salad dressing was tomato based I believe, and it was good. House wine on HH special was decent for $ 4 per glass. Blue moon $ 4 also. Staff were very friendly and quick on request. I will be back to try other items on the menu. This place has great potential and I’d like to see it in its glory on a Saturday night. Buffet station setup but not sure what the price is for it. Other daily/weekly specials as well.

Came here for dinner on a Saturday with my husband and had a great time. The food was fantastic and service was great and friendly. My husband had the soltani and I ordered the chicken soltani. The chicken chunks were perfectly seasoned and the kabob was so good and juicy. We also had the spinach and yogurt which I didn’t care for too much. The garlic was a bit overwhelming. We ended the evening with a slice of their Swiss cake roll. The hint of rose water really made a difference. I definitely recommend! I do want to come back and try their lunch buffet. Will be back soon!

What a nice place to have a birthday celebration! About 20 of us met here to celebrate with one of of favorite fellow Unilocalers. The interior is nicely done, great colors and quiet enough that you can talk, even in a big group. I’d never been to a Persian restaurant before, so I really didn’t know what to expect. We started with a couple of the yogurt dips and lavosh. The dips were both good, but I preferred the one with the shallots over the one with the cucumbers. The bread was very thin, warm and had a toasty flavor that I really liked. I’ve had kabobs, but not like this. I was expecting the ones with chunks of meat and vegetables, but that’s not what they do here. These were all meat. For my entrée, I ordered the yellow split pea stew. It is a concoction of split peas and beef in a gravy. It had lots of peas, but was pretty short on beef. The beef was not as tender as it could have been, but the flavor of the dish was wonderful. It came with a hefty side of delicious basmati and saffron rice to soak up the gravy. I also tried one of the beef kabobs. Again, this was not what I was expecting. Instead of the beef being in chunks, it was spiced ground beef that had been formed around the skewer to grill. I liked the seasoning, it was kind of like a Swedish meatball. Two skewers made a nice size serving for two meals. There were a couple of people that ordered the falloodeh for dessert and let us try samples of that. This is a really different experience. It’s frozen rice noodles served in a syrup of rosewater. It comes with a side pitcher of lemon juice and another one of cherry syrup. I first tried it plain, which was like slurping up a very sweet, frozen rose. Then I tried it with the lemon and the cherry, which made it a very interesting combination that was deliciously different. My only quibble with Kababi was that the service was very slow… it was just short of two hours when we got our food, and we were about ready to order a pizza. That being said, the wait staff was very nice. They were quite helpful about taking photos of the entire group, taking time to get everyone in the shot. There is also a pastry case that looked very intriguing for another visit. I’d like to sample my way from one end to the other — pastry is my weakness. So, if you’re looking for something totally different and you aren’t in a hurry, this would be a great place to check out. One other bonus… they very frequently have a Groupon offer. That’s always a nice benefit!

I was so excited when Cherine A picked Kababi for her birthday dinner. I really like trying different types of food, and the flavor profiles in Persian food are amazing. We had a large party and arrived to find the table waiting for us. It was a Sunday evening and they weren’t very busy inside(probably a good thing as we were probably a little loud) but the staff was warm and welcoming. On the table were numerous plates of lavash bread(they made sure there was more than enough for all of us). Don’t you dare eat it with the butter provided. Order one of the yogurt sides as a dip. These come in bowls for ~$ 5 and a large enough to share as a dip with a few people. I tried the yogurt and shallot dip and really loved it. Being such a large group we were all talking among each other and deciding what to get. I was ordered a glass of pinot grigio, which was good for a house wine, and the wine prices here are extremely reasonable. At $ 15 a bottle, or $ 4 a glass, you might as well imbibe. As an appetizer I opted for the stuffed grape leaves. I must admit that although I have had them in Greek cuisine many times, I’m usually not a very big fan, but the menu description intrigued me. Served warm with cherry juice and barberries these were way better than any Greek grape leaf I’ve had. For my entrée I opted for the salmon rice special. At ~$ 20 it was well worth the money served with two very large salmon filets, cooked perfectly, and a lovely blend of white and yellow rice with fresh dill, cilantro, and parsley. This dish was easily three meals, and nearly two weeks later I actually had to throw the last of the rice away because I just kept taking bites of it every time I opened the fridge(not good for the diet). Also, I’m not sure it would be the chef’s intention, but if you have any leftover yogurt sauce it would go great with the entrée as well. Since we were celebrating a birthday, and I had never had it before, I decided to try a Persian dessert, opting for the falloodeh which was sort of like a rose slushy with rice noodles in it. The light flavor was great and the noodles were weird to me, but the crunch actually went well. Served with lemon and cherry juices on the side I would call this a Persian snow cone in a bowl. I really loved the lemon and it was a nice blend of sweet and tart. Service here was attentive and they kind of made us feel like part of the family. The food was a little slow to arrive, and though I’m sure our large party played a roll in this, I wouldn’t come if you have a tight schedule. Come to enjoy some unique and delicious food and wine at reasonable prices and you won’t be disappointed.

If it wasn’t for Cherine, I probably would have never gave this place a thought. Persian is usually something I don’t go for, so I decided to give it a try and keep all expectations open. First off, they have bottles of wine for $ 15 and that’s not a bad deal. Most places start at 20 bucks or up. I was a fan of the Moscato and some of my table mates were as well. Our group snacked on the lavash that was brought to our table while we were looking over the menu. The yogurt and cucumber dip is the perfect topping for it. The menu looks really good and I was stuck on deciding between two items. The chicken pomegranate stew was very tempting and I was able to try a bite of it, which it was very good. The Soltani was the selection and it consisted of a beef and a chicken kabob with a huge portion of Basmati white rice. It was grilled and seasoned very well and I came home with leftovers for my husband. He enjoyed it the next day for lunch. I didn’t order dessert since I was full from dinner and had a bite of the falloodeh that was going around our table for sharing. It was light and sweet. The lemon and cherry juice comes on the side if you feel like making it a little sweeter. The rollet cake looked amazing and I had to refrain myself from having a bite of it because I probably would have ate the whole thing. The staff was excellent with accommodating all of us, which consisted of 18 people. We were able to sit together and enjoy each other’s company while we waited for our food. I was surprised that it took about an hour to get our food and the restaurant wasn’t busy at all. All was forgotten when we got our food and started munching away. The checks were split with no problem and we had a fun time celebrating Cherine’s birthday. Thank you for having me be a part of it and to everyone for the great conversations and laughter! :)

Went here on a Saturday night. It is located in a quiet shopping center so you might not ever know it is here. Once inside, you will see how large the restaurant is. They have plenty of tables and décor. Our waiter was very friendly and informative — he knew most answers to our questions. The food was great! We started with some lavash bread, and the crispy rice appetizer! We ordered with one of the dipping sauces and it was delicious! Tastes just like the crispy rice at the bottom of the pan. All of our kebabs were great. Meat, chicken, veggies — all grilled to perfection! The dill rice was recommended by the waiter and it was a great combination of flavors. The portions were huge and we had no room to try the dessert. They had a Groupon special running so I hope more people check them out. We will be back!

Kababi Café By Kuluck moved from their location on Sunrise and University to a much larger location just north of Oakland on University. The new location has much better ambiance, a beautiful bar and lots of tables. The buffet is slightly larger than before, and still the same price of $ 11.95 for lunch which is an amazing deal for the fresh homemade food and excellent quality they offer. The lunch buffer consists of salads with different dressing options, Lavash(thin flatbread), spreads like Hummus, eggplant dip, yogurt and cucumber dip, tabouli, Basmati rice, crispy rice, meat balls, a pasta dish, veggie patties, chicken stew, beef stew, chicken kabobs, ground beef patties, meats, fruit, cookies, small cupcakes, cake, Lentil soup, and a few other items. Everything I have tried is wonderful, especially the chicken kabobs! The items on the buffet aren’t labeled, but when I asked the server who was by the buffet station he was happy to explain all of them. The décor is casual and service is very friendly. Excellent value for the quality and quantity of selection. The only thing that slightly bothers me is that the seating area is too dark for lunch, and has spotlights lighting up the room instead of steady bright lighting, this may work for dinner but it would be a lot better ambiance if it was brighter and they had steady lighting instead of the spotlights, other than the lighting, the place is great.
