I was first introduced to Terra Bella Family Farm at the year round Pleasanton’s Farmer’s Market. I immediately noticed the amazing breadth and quality of their certified organic fruits and vegetables.
Depending on time of year, they have a great variety of heirloom tomatoes, the sweetest strawberries I have ever tasted in my life, crunchy red and green peppers, beautiful eggplants, crispy kale and chard, crunchy carrots, fresh onions, the list goes on and on. And wow, their fragrant and fresh herbs are perfect for seasonal cooking or baking.
I am inspired by the story of Shawn Seufert, the owner and passionate organic farmer of Terra Bella Family Farm. He is committed to ensuring he delivers the best quality organic fruits and vegetables in the area. And has a lot of integrity in everything he does.
They are at the Saturday Pleasanton’s Farmer’s Market year round, but I have also visited them at the Livermore Farmer’s Market on Thursdays during the Summer season. Their CSA has a really nice variety of fresh, quality items and offers a great variety to keep things fun in the kitchen and dining table each week for those who like to cook. This is THE CSA to be part of, if you live in the area.

My family loves Terra Bella Family Farm! We’ve been members of this CSA on and off for years. We used to be members and pick up at the farm. It was fantastic! They have pet goats, chickens and you can see the herbs they grow right from the road. I love the idea of organic food grown right here in our community; we can meet the farmers, we can ask questions, we can be a part of supporting local agriculture. Recently we changed and do a local pick up at Eddie Papas and while the experience is different, it’s so darn convenient and who doesn’t love to stop in at Eddie Papas!?!
About the CSA specifically, I appreciate the benefits and am happy to support them with my business. This program benefits us both in sharing in the risk to produce organic produce so close to home. Some weeks deliver more food, some are less, for me supporting this CSA is not only about receiving delicious local food, but also about supporting the cause. Thank you for your hard to work to produce food I’m proud to serve to my children, family and friends. Keep up the great work Shawn and team!!!

I’ve spent the past few years roaming around looking for CSA veggies to grace my home table. Believe me when I say that it has been a challenge. The grocery stores can say all they want about «farm fresh» food, but in reality the choices are painfully limited, not in season (Where did this fruit come from? South America?), and limited in nutrients.
How troubling it is to find that a store bought banana has as much sugar as candy! You wonder why obesity is a problem in America? It isn’t just because people are dining at fast food establishments, our food producers and sellers have betrayed us!
What is a soul who wants to eat for health to do?

It isn’t that Terra Bella is a cheap alternative… six hundred dollars a year comes across as steep when you’re thinking about veggies. But in hindsight, how much would you pay for good health? Is it any cheaper than that gym membership you have? (Which may or may not be gathering dust, but debiting your account every month!).
No, give me season veggies grown without the herbicides and come with a freshness that is natural! Give my food that comes packed with phytonutrients, that is rich in flavor, in color, and which I don’t have to guess which country it came from!
Do I think I’m worth home grown food? Darn right I do! Try this place and forget about the grocery store!

We have been Terra Bella members one year now and have been very happy with the experience. Great people; great food; great cost. Convenient, quality, organic, seasonal and delicious. Our family of six feel very blessed to have this resource available and encourage others to support our local organic farmers.

I really wish I had read the Unilocal reviews before joining this CSA. To start off, they charged us for 7 weeks, even though there were only 6 weeks of pick ups left in the season. After searching and searching the website for the pick up location, I asked for directions and was given directions as far as East Ave. They failed to tell me that I then had to turn left on Thunderbird lane, then turn right and go to the end of the parking lot. After driving around looking for the spot, I gave up and went home, asked for directions again, but wasn’t given any until days later — and they were still inadequate. They told me to look for the «open space.» Open space refers to an undeveloped area. What they meant was «open campus» which refers to any area accessible without authorization (this is near the Lawrence Livermore Labs). I even called Shawn and asked where he was located, and he told me I had to get onto S Outer Loop, which is in the restricted area and nowhere near the pick up spot. Once I realized they had no idea what an open space was, I drove around the buildings and found it. Then the real disappointment set in. So given that they overcharged me and gave me crap directions, my weekly share with baked goods was now up to $ 33.60 a week. For this amount, I received 5 apples, 3 tangerines, 2 oranges, 4 small limp beets, 1 moldy head of garlic, and 2 bunches of rotten outer bok choy. leaves. They did not provide baked goods. I wasn’t going to take any greens, but Shawn grabbed two bunches of bok choy and gave them to me. They also had a box of «free» items which were supposed to be of lesser quality than the other items in our CSA box, so I was a bit surprised that Shawn then took two bunches of bok choy leaves out of the «free» box and replaced the ones he had given me out of the share boxes. After visiting their table at the farmer’s market, it is apparent that they sell the good produce to customers there, then after it gets rotten, pawn it off on the people who have pledged to support them by purchasing a share in advance.

Love Terra Bella Family Farms mission, products and customer service. I look forward to receiving my box every week. I love how how sometimes I have to research and learn how to prepare something new since I received an item I would not have normally purchased.
