Spartan Van Lines

Today, Chava & his crew Mario and Elbaldo moved our stuff from San Jose for Bethpage. They were handling the items very carefully and were efficient, polite.
I would recommond to all my friends for move out service

Today, we met Chava & his crew Mario and Elbaldo! They moved us from San Mateo to downtown San Jose in between rain showers and a crazy game at the Shark Tank.
They were efficient, polite, extremely hardworking, and easy to communicate with. They got the job done faster than we expected, and refunded the time as agreed.
We only got approved for this lease Tuesday, and signed Wednesday. So packing for a Saturday morning move was extremely taxing. We had maybe 10 boxes packed out of a 2 bedroom 2 bath 1032sq foot apt. And we kept packing, but watched with awe as they worked circles around us! My hubs and our roomie were extra impressed with the closet-​to-​closet transfers. And we were all humbled watching these 3 navigate a 4-​story townhouse double the size of the apartment we left.
If you have the option, pick them ^.
We were also very appreciative of their consideration for our 9mo, after he got brought over. And even more so for his curious and inquisitive toddler friend. Carrying beds and enormous dressers up multiple flights of stairs all the while dodging munchkins and all their toys is no small feat.
But there were no complaints, grumbles, or even frustrated looks.

Afraid I have to revise my review of Spartan Van Lines as I’m getting a completely different perspective on the other end of the move. We didn’t have a house to move to, so we were quoted 6 weeks storage included with our move, and we could schedule delivery after we found a place. We bought a house in Eugene before Thanksgiving and started trying to schedule a delivery while it’s in escrow.
We called and left messages with the rep who booked our move and at the Spartan office before Thanksgiving. We heard nothing until a few days later when we got a call back from someone who said we should send written notice to their dispatcher when we had a firm date. She had indicated we had only four weeks of storage, contrary to our quote and written contract, but said someone would call about our storage bill. We received no phone call or email.
Two weeks after Thanksgiving, we received a bill for storage, dated then but due four weeks after our move. We tried to call and email about that a couple of days ago. Still no response by either phone or email. Now we have a firm date, a storage bill in dispute, and haven’t been able to reach anyone at Spartan. They don’t seem to care as much about finishing the move as they were about starting it.
To be fair, here’s my previous, more positive review:
I accepted a job in Eugene, Oregon, and had a short time to get my house in Sunnyvale sold and moved. Spartan had some good reviews, so I called and in short order, Alex came to our house to give us an estimate. He toured our home and a storage space in Santa Clara and gave us a quote we could live with. He told us what to expect every step in the process and gave us a time to meet the truck at our storage.
Elmer and his crew — Salvador, Antonio, Christofer, and Mario — arrived on time and quickly packed up our storage space. We schlepped over to my house and they set to work, quickly and efficiently loading our household goods into their truck. They wrapped and protected our furniture with some very intriguing and obviously well-​practiced techniques.
We noticed over the course of the day that the guys operated as a tight-​knit team, coordinating their efforts as though reading each others’ minds. And they all seemed to enjoy their work, some singing while they worked, others with a dance in their steps. We were under a great deal of stress to get moved quickly, but their relaxed and professional manner eased our anxiety substantially.
When the truck was all packed, (within 15 minutes of Alex’s estimated time,) Elmer went over the detailed inventory he recorded throughout the operation and explained everything to expect from there until delivery at our home in Eugene. He called the Spartan office to report his final status and Carlos asked to speak to me. Carlos wanted to know how everything went and whether we were satisfied and had any questions.
In short, this is an efficient and professional organization that makes customer satisfaction the highest priority and keeps the customer informed throughout the moving process. Comparing the estimates we’d made of our alternatives, including self-​moving with a rental truck and with a driveway «pod», the flat fee we were charged for this move was reasonably affordable and the moving crew saved us substantial time, effort, and stress. We highly recommend them to anyone faced with the trauma of moving.

On time. Very fast and efficient. Eddy and his crew were all friendly clean and neat appearing. All were dressed in Spartan t shirts.

Elmer and his crew helped us move our house yesterday and I have to say I am extremely happy with the packing and loading services from Spartan! Elmer was very professional, nice to work with, and his crew was very fast and careful with the packing. I would have posted this sooner, but they were so fast I actually left early!
I have not obviously experienced the delivery half of the service yet, but so far If the delivery is anywhere as good as the packing I will have a worry free moving experience!

This is for my experience on the pick-​up end of my move with sales rep Alex and movers John, Juan, and Fred.
Choosing a moving company for a cross-​country move is a nightmare. I was so glad when I found Spartan Van Lines, which had the holy trinity of 1) great Unilocal reviews, 2) a great rating from the BBB, and 3) a great price. They were the only company that insisted they come to my house to look at my things before giving me a quote, which made the chance of a nasty surprise on moving day much less likely. Alex was great throughout the process and I was really happy with the customer service I experienced leading up to moving day. There were a few bumps, but they were handled with grace and generosity, and I really could not ask for anything more.
Moving day itself was a breeze. John, Juan, and Fred showed up exactly when they said they would and they were done in two hours (I had packed all my boxes but they did the furniture and the art on the walls). I saw the way they shrink-​wrapped my furniture, and I have confidence that it will get to its destination in one piece. They were also unfailingly friendly and polite, and they treated my roommate’s stuff (which was staying) respectfully as well. We did several walk-​throughs throughout the process to make sure they were getting everything, and then John’s manager checked in with me over the phone, as well.
One more note: I said the price was great. I really can’t emphasize enough how great the price was. I always knew I’d be going with a moving company, but a colleague of mine who is moving as well compared the price of Spartan Van Lines with a do-​it-​yourself move with the U-​Haul pods and SVL was THE SAME PRICE. Save your back and your sanity and hire Spartan Van Lines. You’ll be glad you did!
