The food is medicore and restaurant feels old. A soup is served before serving food. The soup had way too much tomato which made it difficult to drink. I ordered the pad Thai chicken. It was easily the worst pad Thai I’ve had in my life. There was no flavour, it was very tangy and the chicken was chewy(not fresh). I had to pour hot sauce to mask the horrible tangy flavour. I am never ever eating here.

Average Thai food. And below-average service. We were looking for a place to eat in Sunnyvale and ended up picking Siam Taste. We ordered Pad Thai, Pad See-ewe, and some appetizers. The food was all right, though we’ve had better. The service though definitely needs improvement. A smile or two perhaps? My daughter thought they were angry with us for making them cook for us on a weekend!

Dishes are cheap lots of rice yet almost no meat, yet prices are quite high comparatively. I dont recommend eating here. The taste of food was poor as well, rice was dry stale etc.

Rude customer service. Just awful. Ended up leaving and walking next door for some Italian. Avoid the pain, don’t try it.

We walked into this restaurant for dinner last night. We were seated immediately. From the beginning till the end we seemed to be rushed. They had an hour and fifteen minutes to close and yet they seemed to be in a hurry. We ordered deep fried taro and small coconut soup as appetizers. They were delicious(and hence the two stars). Then came the entrées– veg chow mein and yellow curry powder fried rice. Both the entrées were very bland. Yellow rice tasted like rice and turmeric powder — the potatoes in the rice were boiled without salt and hence tasted like starch. The chow mein was better when compared to the rice but was nothing compared to chow mein in other places. We had also ordered wine as they had their promotion of buy 1 wine and get 1 free. We had a glass of house merlot and white Zinfandel each and both were bad. Towards the end of dinner we were asked if we were ready for our check and when we said we r not done yet, the host just placed his book on our table and said 2 minutes. We left very soon feeling bad about the experience and decided never to come back!

Yesterday I stopped for lunch after 2PM. I scrolled through the menu and I noticed that many of the appetizers are priced like main courses. That, I must admit, is ridiculous and ostentatious. I ordered pad see ew which the menu labels incorrectly as «pad-see-ewe». The course was well presented, the noodles were softer than usual and the meal was decent but not amazing. The server that delivered the plates could avoid touching the inside of the plate(seriously, that’s where I eat). This place advertises the classic«we won’t serve water unless you ask» but while we were eating, since my girlfriend did not order a drink, the lady dropped off a glass of water(that we obviously rejected). Later on the same lady dropped off the check and never even bothered asking if we wanted to get a dessert. I wonder what kind of business wants to kick out out instead of trying to make more money off of you. It just doesn’t make any sense to me. The link to the menu on Unilocal is ridiculous. It only shows 4BBQ selections(the link should definitely be fixed). Also, it’s not spelled«a la cart» but«à la carte» and the music on the website is pretty annoying and repetitive(really … knock it off). Aside from the huge amount of screw-ups and nonsense I encountered, this place has one good thing: I don’t hear Spanish being spoken in the kitchen which means that this place may be truly Thai but I am not qualified to confirm because I don’t speak the Thai language. The folks inside definitely don’t speak Vietnamese, Mandarin, Korean or Japanese.

I didn’t read reviews prior to coming here which is probably good. The food was one of the best Thai we have had. We have a go to Thai place but decided to try this one. It was only my daughter and I so all we had was the fish cake appetizer which was so flavorful. Had to try the larb which is my daughter’s favorite. After one taste, she was sold that this is her new favorite place. She also noticed that the portion is bigger. We also had the Tom Yum with prawns. Very good. The place as very clean. Staff was friendly. I like that they pay attention to detail even down to the dish where your bill comes«served» in. Got home and told my husband that we found a new Thai place!

I’m convinced all the negative reviews are some kind of personal vendetta. Best Tom Yum soup ever. So nicely sour and that unique Thai taste.

This place is your typical thai cuisine restaurant. The food is pretty good however it is extremely expensive for what you are getting. One time, I got the crab fried rice which only contained a piece of crab claw and a few scatter crab meat. It cost me nearly 15 dollars for a togo box that was half full. I haven’t tried their full menu but I have had a few of their other dishes on their menu which were decent but not mind blowing.

Family Sunday lunch there today and two of us are vomiting after using the beef pad Thai. Fly is around the outside tables and bad beef curry. Beef is over cooked probably recycled. Big concerns on the quality of food and kitchen. Never go back again…

I don’t think they know what costumer service means. Asked the server what kind of beer they have and she pointed at a sign and walked alway. Then she threw menus at us. It’s pretty funny when you think about it. Anyway, won’t be eating here. We’re getting gumbas instead.

Randomly chose this place while waiting for the caltrain. We got the combination appetizer and the green curry chicken. The combination appetizer had a good variety(egg rolls, fish cake, angel wing, chicken satay). The egg rolls were ok. The fish cake was different, had a strong lemongrass? taste. The angel wing was pretty good. The chicken satay was cooked well but the sauce for it kind of lacked flavor. The green curry was pretty spicy(we didn’t specify a spiciness so i think they defaulted to medium). Standard green curry so it was good. So the green curry chicken, combo appetizers, and a bowl of white rice came out to about $ 31. Pretty steep to me so if I’m ever in the area, I probably won’t be stopping by again since I can get more affordable and better tasting thai food elsewhere.

I went to Siam Taste about a year ago, and decided to give it another try because I remembered how memorable tasting the Pad Thai was. Similar to the last time, the Pad Thai was delicious! I loved the flavors that this dish had and was able to devour my entire plate by the end of lunch time. Also, the Crab Kuree that my friend ordered was super tasty as well. The crab was deep fried to perfection and tasted great with the sauce that it came with. However, we thought that her dish would contain more«curry» sauce, but it seemed like her entrée contained very little sauce, a couple pieces of deep fried crab, and a lot of stir fried vegetables. What convinced me to rate this place 3 stars was the poor customer service and the disappointment in my Thai Milk Tea. Since it was a hot, sunny day, my friend and I thought that it would be an enjoyable experience to dine outside to enjoy the nice weather. However, I guess dining outside means to the server«out of sight, out of mind». He did not manage to check up on us much, and also looked like he did not want to be there. He was not the nicest or meanest waiter, but he definitely did not look inviting. In fact, he made my friend and I uncomfortable with our dining experience because he totally killed our vibe. Also, my Thai Milk Tea drink tasted very disappointing. It was MUCH too sweet, so sweet that you would make the face of when one eats a lemon when you took a sip. I kindly asked the waiter if he could make my drink less sweet, which he returned without a smile with the same drink altered. He pretty much took out the ice and filled it up with a liquid that made it less sweet but… I think it looks much better to a customer if you give them a newly made drink instead of an altered one. Plus, he filled it up too high where it spilled on our outdoor table and on to the floor, which then I had to request napkins to clean it up. Instead of giving us napkins, he cleaned the table with a washcloth, which was cool, but it didn’t help when my only napkin was soggy from the spill. Not sure if I will be going back here. If I’m in the area, it’s a possibility but I probably will not recommend this place to my friends.

Contrary to what the other reviews are saying, I had a great experience at Siam Taste. I came here for lunch today. It has that homey hole-in-the-wall feel. I ordered their vegetarian Pad Thai from their expansive vegetarian menu. The service and food were speedy and delicious. The prices were right too($ 10 for my entrée). I’ll be back!

dishonest, over priced, too much fat, over salted, not enough vegetables in vegetable dishes. Yes it’s food. that’s about it. If you are starving, maybe stop here. but I might question your sense of well being if you pass up the other restaurants around for this one. Just had lunch here: $ 45 bucks for two people 2 lunches, coconut water, and corn fritters. which wouldnt’ be bad, but that price range usually carries more quality. tasteless corn fritters: mushy not crispy, no real taste fatty, no vegetables ginger veg. tofu: over salted, greasy, no vegetables in sight over salted, no vegetables green curry: very watery, oil slick on top, no vegetables, frozen mix? over priced, dishonest coconut water: brown matured coconut cut open and coconut water from a bottle poured in to give the appearance of a fresh coconut. lol brown coconuts don’t have a center full of water, green ones like in the menu picture, maybe, but they definitely served us a brown one with mature, hard flesh and a spoon as if we were going to rake the sides to get a few bites of coconut flesh. highly recommend taking two seconds to look 10 feet away for better food. my stomach doesn’t feel so good after eating here.

I hate to give small businesses a low rating, but aside from the lovely décor, nothing about this place makes me want to come back there. It did look OK from the outside on a rainy day. Since I just got my hair cut in the area, I was hungry and I wanted soup. Also, one of the fish dishes on the outside menu looked amazing, so I had to try it. I was a bit short on cash that day, so I had to settle for some soup and some other dish. It was a chicken and veggie one Anyways, the waitress that I got was the worst one that I had in awhile. She had the moodiest and most unwelcoming look on her face as if she didn’t want to be there serving me. I get that waitressing sucks since I did that before at a few small places a few times, and although I loathed my job, I was able to suck it up still even with most of the assholes. Most of the time anyways, lol. I wasn’t the least bit bothersome or rude, so I was expecting her to polite to me at best. As for the other guy there, I barely got refills on water, and the place was almost empty too. Well, the soup was OK, but the chicken was a bit dry, and even worse, is that it tasted like it was on the verge of going bad. Ugh! Thankfully lots of hot sauce helped disguise some of the bad taste, but not completely. Thankfully I didn’t get sick from eating it. I was starving, so I ate it anyways. I also asked them to use less oil in the dish and that woman acted like I was making an unreasonable request. She didn’t get what I was trying to say at first maybe? Idk, but hopefully they complied with my wish as I’m trying to loose weight now. Needless to say, I won’t be coming back there again.

Came in for lunch and order the satay chicken, pad thai with shrimp and spicy pan fried thick noodles with chicken. For dessert we had the mango sticky rice. The satay chicken was quite good. Very tender and good flavors. As for the pad thai, it did not taste as good as it looks. Often time caused by the result of substituting granulated sugar with the palm sugar and using inferior tamarind with wrong ratios. One thing that perturbed me a great deal is that the man, not sure if he is owner, was seemingly in a bad mood and was constantly clearing the table. I was still working on the satay chicken when they took away the dipping sauce. Even while I was eating the pad thai, he came over with the check. We weren’t done with the meal as we wanted to order some desserts. When we asked for mango sticky rice, he shouted at the picture of the dessert on the table and kept saying«This one? This one?!». I told him yes three times. He then took away the check he had left earlier. Anyhow, the mango sticky rice was a bit watery but the fresh mangos were sweet and yummy. The whole dining experience was really bizarre to say the least. Not sure if I want to return.

I visited here with a friend who had dined here before, and was delighted to discover a neat little place in a great area of town, with good food and friendly service. The fried squid appetizer started us off, and it was tasty enough, although nothing especially amazing. I definitely enjoyed my House Special(steamed fish in a hollowed out, baked mango shell), although I will try it with chicken or shrimp next time as the fish was a touch bland. The prices are reasonable, especially considering the portion size. I think it is pretty neat that they offer coconuts, whole and fresh and ready for drinking, but not being a huge fan of the flavor, did not partake personally. I can think of no reason at all that I would hesitate to come back and sample other items from the menu.
