After receiving a piano as gift from a relative, I had no idea what it was, what it was worth and how operational it was.
Mark knew right away the answer to all these questions and then some. The piano required an internal rebuild and the repair of several of the ivory keys. After the rebuild Mark tuned the piano. Now the piano works and sounds like new.
Besides being an expert in his field of over 30 years, Mark is a lively, honest guy who will recommend what is really needed to get your piano to where it needs to be. I highly recommend him!

Mark Mendel was recommended to me shortly after I purchased a 1942 Chickering grand. It was in rough shape, but over the course of a major reconditioning and a couple of tunings, he was able to «make my piano sing» as his business card claims.
He appreciates older instruments, a characteristic I have found difficult to find in other piano tuners. My Chickering is now in condition to receive a couple of tunings a year, and I hope that Mark has no plans to retire soon!
I would recommend him to anyone and have already referred him to several friends in search of a professional local piano tuner.
