Major Minor Services

Major MInor saved me again. This is the second time in the last 2 months that I have had to call Major MInor for electrical work for my business. This time was more of an emergency because my lights stopped working and its impossible to conduct business with no lights. The first time I used Major Minor I had called about 15 other electricians and either nobody was available to come out or they didn’t answet their phones. Evan was at my business in about 45 minutes even though he was on another job, he told me that this seemed like it was more of an emergency. A lot of trouble shooting was required to get the job done but it was completed in about 2.5 hours and the price was very reasonable. I hope that I never have to use an electrician again, but if I do, I am definitely calling Evan at Major Minor.

I used Major Minor to clean my backyard, and they did a great and thorough job. We needed a water pressure cleaning on our patio tiles from a few years of built-​up gunk that we couldn’t easily remove. He was a pleasure to work with and I will feel confident booking him again for handyman services.

I recently discontinued service with this company after nine months.
Why? Though I wouldn’t say the cleaning was ever truly bad, I was also never impressed by it and felt like many corners were cut. If I am paying someone to clean the living areas of my house, I don’t expect to come home and feel like there is still a lot of cleaning to be done. Unfortunately, this was the experience after every visit. Blankets on the couch were not folded, tables were not wiped down, surfaces in the kitchen were left with a strange feeling build up…
Service was unreliable (appointments canceled at the last minute or one no-​show without any notice), communication inconsistent, and the owner once insulted my home when he commented that his employees probably hadn’t known what to do in terms of the level of cleaning because they were used to, «beautiful Palo Alto Hills homes…» and, apparently, my house is not in that category and doesn’t deserve the full treatment.
Overall, it wasn’t worth the money. I wouldn’t recommend the company to my friends, and I wouldn’t recommend it to you.
