The worst customer service I’ve ever experienced! Would chose to give zero stars instead if i could. I used to be a regular customer coming in practically every other day either for a meal at the restaurant, picking up groceries at the market, or getting some bread from the bakery. Back on August I when in and ordered a birthday cake. Even thought they had a limited design list I when on an ordered it. Payed the full amount for the cake. The date of pick up I when in and the name was missed spelled on the cake frosting. I was very disappointed and asked if someone could fix it. The baker was off and there was no supervisor on duty. They called the owner and came in 20 minutes later he was complete clue less never apologized and said he could not do anything about it other then call the baker and have him come in to fix it. This was the answer after waiting now 30 mins and never did I get an apology or an offer to get a some money back for the mistake they had made on my cake. At this point I was running late to the party and my guess where waiting for the cake to arrive. I answer a call and mentioned to the person that was on the phone with that I was not coming back to the place again that I was getting bad costumer service. As soon as I said this phrase the owner took the cake I had paid for behind the counter and refused to give it back. He said that he was not going to give it back and that he didn’t care that I had already paid for it. Long story short I was forced to get the police involved in order to get my refund back. I do not recommend this place, the owner acted like a complete jerk and I’ve decide to take my business elsewhere. Would highly recommend Chavez Super Market instead.

Talk about corner market settled right smack in the resedential Sunnyvale area. Between a Mexican taquiria and bread store. This Convenient Mexican store has every thing you may need from a nice selection of produce. I don’t recommend getting any Meat. I just keep that for the large Grocery chains. But the Customer service is been with super nice, with moring smiles.

The Guadalajara Market is next to Ruby’s Taqueria. As grocery stores go, if you’re looking for any type of Latin American ingredients or just the bodega type experience, then this is your place. If you’re looking for groceries in general, probably not the best place to get your goods at the best price.

If you eat at Ruby’s come here for beverages. There’s a wider variety and the stuff that’s the same at both places is usually cheaper. Otherwise, it’s a great little market of all things Mexican grocery

Pretty nice market next to Ruby’s Taqueria… oh and there’s a bakery next door also which has great Pan Dulce! This market has changed since I first came in here. Everything looks cleaner.

Very courteous staff! There was this one time(at Band Camp), my tired and weary Band kids were from practice and were boasting about this tinsy-winsy Mexican supermarket to one of the other kids. This particular day I was picking them up from school, I didn’t expect to be coming out of the car so I didn’t change my skimpy shorts, T-shirt and 6-inch platforms which I just recently bought(just to break it in) which I had been wearing all day. So I drive the kids to this supermarket, Guadalajara Meat and discover that it’s in a little market strip right before Mathilda Avenue and along Ahwanee Blvd. I certainly wanted to stay in the car because of my almost sleazy attire, but since the kids wanted me to go with them, I just hopped out of the car and hope and prayed there won’t be any cholos in the store. The first thing I noticed was the not-so-loud Mexican music being played. The air in the store smelled pleasant(I’m sorry but I was pleasantly surprised) and the store seemed to be full of — ta-da! Mexican stuff. Sodas, spices etc etc. I bought me a couple of mangoes and the kids got a few soda pops and candy. One of the ladies working there asked if we were ready. Oh boy, was I glad she spoke to me in English. Stores like Chavez and Arteaga have staff that always initially communicate with me in Spanish. It gets a little complicated when I respond, «Lo siento pero no habla espanol». Duh. There were people in the store who were looking at me but when I caught their stare, they were smiling at me and not looking at me with disgust(I was with 4 teenager boys and girls and I was wearing this skimpy attire — false eyelashes and a Louis Vuitton Damier Ebene Berkeley handbag — PIMP!). Thank you so much for not giving me dirty looks. Muchos graciases. Anyhoolabaloo, the lady who checked us out was very nice and fluent in English. Their merchandise(specifically the mangoes) are clean and fresh. Parking isn’t difficult at all. I cannot wait to go back here and shop again. This time looking like a more regular human being.

I think my expectations were a little high. I have forever gone to Chavez Super Market for any and all my Mexican products. After having a bite to eat at Ruby’s Taqueria next door, I wanted to check this place out. I gave myself a tour of the store, they did have a lot of produce which was great but I knew I was getting closer to the meat department because the smell was getting stronger and stronger. I am sorry but if I the meat has an odor… Red Flags everyone… don’t buy it. The prices in the meat department were a little bit lower but to me quality is more important than spare change.

I just had to respond to the review here. Guadalajara is a great neighborhood store — and their prices on produce, particularly lemons and limes literally can not be beat. However. Their meat may have a great selection, but Each and Every time I’ve purchased it, I am disappointed with it. Stringy, tough, gristle, overly fatty — one or all of the above. If I buy meat here, each time I swear never to do it again, but then I see the cheap prices while I’m there and think, maybe it’ll be better this time, but like I said — it’s not.

I know everybody is all about Chavez Super Market(and I will have to check that one out someday). But I have been more then happy with Guadalajara since we came accross this place while looking at a house for sale accross the street. Its very very authentic, very clean, large and has all of your south of the border ingredients. The have an well stocked meat market and the pan dulce are good. But truth be told, the main reason I go is to get the somethign from the really nice variety of mexican popsicles they have in the far back left corner… Mexican popsicles are way way better then any weird autopop we have in the states. you MUST try them. Also… right next door to this market is Ruby’s Taqueria, my fav place to fill my Al Pastor tank up. Ruby’s for a burrito and a quick trip to Guadalajara to pick up some stuff on my way out is a perfect monday.
