When I first walked in I thought the decorations were cute and the dim lighting made it feel very romantic but then the workers turned on the TV and it was blaring the whole time we were eating dinner. It was ridiculous. The complimentary bread was hard and their water was a little cloudy… the second cup was better. Their food is actually pretty good. I had their chicken alfredo so I guess it’s hard for them to screw up on that. The worst part is my stomach ache hours after I had their food! I would definitely never go back there. I don’t trust what they put in their food!

I’m afraid I have to knock them down to a 3-star. First, their bread has fallen victim to the«suburban Italian restaurant bread bug» and is the same, boring, twisted up, pre-prepped, popped-in-the-oven-so-it-seems-fresh schtick that seems to have plagued all local, non-chain Italians places. Please. Be creative. I’m afraid that to please the masses, Giulianna’s may be moving toward mainstream, mid-level chain Italian food instead of its true gourmet intentions. Pity.

I’ve driven by this restaurant hundreds of times, all of which the parking lot being empty. I was on my way to a friends house and decided to stop in and check it out to see what it was like since I love italian food. Needless to say my experience was anything but stellar. The restaurants interior is very pretentious considering the quality of food. When I walked in the server said something to me but I couldn’t hear him and asked him what he said, he said to sit anywhere. I sat in a booth and was not offered a drink or any food until later. Once the same person came back he took my drink order and brought me tea with a lime(not lemon)? He came back to take my order, which I ordered the pollo parmigiana. He then asked if I wanted a salad. Come to find out the salad is an additional $ 4 for house(lettuce, cheese and a tomato) or $ 6 for caesar. The pollo parmigiana was rubbery, you could tell the chicken was frozen and fake. The pasta was decent but nothing to write home about. The complimentary bread tasted like the frozen pillsbury doughboy garlic bread you can by at the store. It was cold, hard and flavorless. I also never received a refill on my drink and there were only two other tables occupied in the entire restaurant. As the waiter was giving me my bill, his personal cell phone began ringing, which in my opinion is very unprofessional. Overall, I can now see why the parking lot is always empty. My meal ended up costing over $ 20 and I can honestly say I see why they are doing groupons, so they can get people in the door, but I will not be returning. This place could use some restaurant impossible or kitchen nightmares help…

Very good food. Pleasant atmosphere. This place has a unique flavor profile in the sauces which distinguishes this place from the chains. Great service also. Definitely try this one.

We really enjoyed a late lunch at Giulianna’s. The curled bread in the basket looked interesting and was inoffensive, but nothing special: everything that followed was better. We had the mozzarella and tomato appetizer, which was tasty, the pork tenderloin in gorgonzola sauce, and the eggplant parmesan — the eggplant firm, not soggy, and delicious. Finally, the lemon-marzipan cake was outstanding. We went there hoping they’d have a good dessert, and they did. Service was quick and the bathroom clean. I’d definitely go back.

This is on top of my list for the worst experience EVER! Long story short… we didn’t get any bread and his 18% tip was on my bill all because we had a GROUPON!

This place was awesome! My family and I have been looking for a great, small Italian place. This is it! Fantastic service, food, and ambience!

Awesome food. Great service. A little gem. Don’t miss out on this family restaurant. Better than all the italian chain restaurants. We’ll be back.

Food was okay for having a wood stone oven they really need to work on their crust. A fresh dough would have made a much better pizza. I have traveled all over and ate at many small Italian places the crust is what makes small places different and better than chain pizza. This could be a great place in Sunnyvale. I will try it again as we got a sampling of quite a few things on our visit. The staff is slow for a small place and not real personable which is much needed in a small establishment. I look forward to returning hoping they will mature with time.

Ok, I still love the food, but as a chef if you are putting your own style on something you really shouldn’t use the common name for the dish. Tonight I ordered the veal Saltimboca. Now, Saltimboca translate from Italian to English as «Jump in my mouth». It is traditionally made with veal cutlets, sage and procuitto de parma. The sauce is white wine and lemon juice used to de-glaze the pan then capers are added. What I had was veal, mushrooms and a very tasty Marsala wine sauce, not Saltimboca. With that said, I will most likely order it again, what ever it is. The risotto was creamy and well balanced. The hericot verts were cooked to perfection and the onions and parm made them that much better. While they won’t be wining a James Beard award or earning a Michelin star anytime soon, they have definitely earned a repeat customer.
