I had a appointment with Dr. Nick Froumis for a regular eye check up. He is very friendly and have pleasant personality, he patiently listened to all my queries and gave detailed in depth answers. I needed some external paperwork to be filled out that he did it happily. Also provided his email and contact incase needed. I told him sometime my eyes get dry and my lasik surgeon suggested to use hot towel for 15mins. He suggested me Dry Eye relief mask that they had which cost only $ 20. I hope it will turn out to be good. All the other staff are very efficient. They spent lot of time on me. I would highly suggest them if looking for a professional efficient service. Tip: Go 10 min early to fill out their paperwork.

I had my eye test today and ordered couple of glasses, my overall experience was good the only complain is why only accept visa/mastercard.I know there are cost issues associated but for a business this big I expect more cards to be accepted.

I have been seeing Dr. Froumis for the past three years and have no complaints! He is very patient, knowledgeable and super helpful. Although their frames can be a bit on the pricey side, they are very modern and always have a great selection. I also love how easy it is to reorder my contacts and they always provide swift delivery. Thank you Gold & Associates! :)

Sales staff & assistants are extremely unwelcoming. Very efficient Front Office & really good Doctors. I started with Dr. Gold in 2007(I guess) & switched to Dr. Froumis — both excellent Doctors. Last year I stopped seeing them due to a very unprofessional assistant, who was rude and suggested I see another practice. So, I had all my history emailed — which was a hassle because, as usual the assistants don’t care for your business. This is to show, how one person ruined the years long relationship that I had built up with the Doctors. To be honest, I don’t even remember the assistant’s name — but what struck me more was none of the other assistants cared enough to say, you’ve been with us for so long, I apologize for whoever was rude — can we work it out? Nope! Quite High-horsed & Egotistical!

I would agree with other people here. The exam with the doctor was good. She was nice and answers my questions. But as the other Unilocaler said, I should have left immediately after the exam. The experience with the optometrist was disappointing. He doesn’t seem to be happy working with me and didn’t show much interest in helping me find the frame I wanted. Next time I think I will just go there getting my eye exam. That’s all.

My review is two part 1st i had major problems with 2 pairs of glasses. The VSP lab messed them up so many times I was ready to go on tv about their issues. Missy at Dr Golds office took the issue in hand so many times she is what true customer service is all about. She went above and beyond and resolved the issue to my satisfaction. Thanks Missy 2nd Dr Gold and his staff are top notch and professional. I highly recommend this office!

I’ve had two experiences with Dr. Gold & Associates — originally I was a huge fan of theirs, but my latest visit was really disappointing. I’m not sure if they’ve recently changed sales staff on the floor, but my experience this week was immeasurably worse than my first visit last year. In 2015 my entire end-to-end visit was simple and professional but this year I really wish I left immediately after the exam. The sales person I had was visibly disinterested in being there, seemed reluctant to be working with me and came across as very dismissive and rude. They were extremely unhelpful in explaining the cost breakdown and misquoted my insurance coverage to me. I felt unwelcome and like a burden for the entire time I was trying to find a pair. I actively went to Dr. Gold & Associates with the aim of having the exam and getting new glasses, but left with my prescription and ordered a new pair for a fraction of the price at Costco later that day. Overall the reception staff, doctors and everyone other than the sales team are great to deal with, but the sales experience I had in my most recent visit really wasn’t fun.

I always go to Dr Joan Jen. She is awesome. She explains everything in details. She knows the contact lenses very well as she tries them before recommending them to customers. During my lens trials, she gave me 3 different brands to try, and I found a comfortable one. The staff is friendly. I never had any issues. I never bought glasses through them though as my prescription hasn’t changed for a while. I usually buy my contact lenses online, unless they can match the online price. One thing to improve though: the staff could explain the benefits and insurance process a bit better.

I thought the optometrists were good, but I suspect I didn’t need the eye dilation that they suggested. They were polite though and ran through the eye exam professionally. Buying a frame was not a pleasant experience. Their sales folks are pushy and a bit dishonest. I’ve been wearing glasses for 35+ years, 30 of them in this country. I’ve never had a salesperson or consultant push the highest and most expensive lenses this aggressively. They also sell their Oakley glasses/frames for higher than MSRP which I though was odd. And when I asked them about it — I was did not get a satisfactory answer. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

I’ve been a patient here since 2008. I’m always surprised at how pleasant the experience is. Dr. Jen is excellent at putting people at ease as she examines them, and very thorough with her examination including asking many questions of the patient. They have a wide range of glasses available on display in their large showroom and I easily found 2 or 3 pair that I would be happy with. They are also very clear about finances at each step of the process. No surprises when the bill is due at the end, and they do take all vision insurance policies that I’m aware of.

I had a great experience at Dr. Gary Gold’s office. I met with Dr. Ratra and had a great experience. The woman that did my initial examination before seeing the Dr. was good and thorough, told me exactly why we were completing each step and answered all of my questions. When I met with Dr. Ratra I was very pleased as she was very friendly, personable, and also answered all of my questions. When you’re with her you feel as though you’re the most important person she will see all day which is a good feeling when you’re in an uneasy situation such as the Dr. office. I would definitely recommend this Dr. office if you’re looking for a good optometrist, you’ll receive good service, personable help, and feel less anxious going to the Dr. office. Very nice and clean, professional and I am happy I found them.

Originally came here due to convenience(they are less than half a mile from my home), stayed because of their top quality professional service. To be fair, I don’t wear glasses, so they just do my annual eye exam & scans, but they are prompt, efficient, and transparent in their work and courteously thoughtful to boot! Writing this review now because Rose(practice manager) was a lifesaver for me this morning! A crazy gust of wind blew something into my eye this morning and it would NOT get out! After spending 20 minutes trying to get whatever it is out, I tried driving to work. A few blocks later I had to pull over due to the pain and intense eye watering. Luckily, I was now only two blocks from Dr. Gold’s office! Unfortunately, there was not a doctor available yet to help. However, Rose without pause took me into one of the patient rooms and helped me flood my eye with drops until the darn thing came out. She was patient and understanding despite the abnormal request. She assured me that if it still hurt in a few hours she would be able to arrange for a visit with a doctor same-day to check for any extra damage(e.g. light corneal abrasions). Luckily after 3 – 4 hours my eye went back to feeling normal again, but I am SO thankful Rose helped so that I could get into the office for today’s meetings.

I’ve been going to this place for six years. Dr. Froumis is knowledgable, helpful, and personable. I feel like he’s honest about what I need to do now and what can probably be postponed. The staff also helps you pick out glasses frames, which is great for me because I’m terrible at that kind of stuff.

I’ve been going to Dr. Gold and his staff for over 18 years now. Was originally recommended by a friend, and I’ve been happy ever since. :) My vision was extremely near-sighted — my original prescription was negative 11 and negative 13 diopters in the eyes, making me essentially helpless for anything but general shapes and colors without my glasses, so glasses and contacts were very important to me! Dr. Gold kept me well up with the best shaped contacts for my extreme eyes and the light-weight polycarbs for the glasses. Then, when lasik was developed, I researched it and consulted with them, and finally took that step to have it done. So glad I did! Can’t even describe the difference that it made in my life and the joy of being able to see things without glasses. It reassured me a lot to have Dr. Gold interacting with the surgeon and having regular checkups as my eyes healed. And ever after that as well. Rose keeps the company well on top of modern technology and the advances for eye checks. When they started doing the retina pictures, it was really great. The original prescription on my eyes means I’m at risk for detached retina, and the annual checks to make sure everything is okay is immensely helpful. I know the health of my eyes are in good shape with them! Dr. Nick Froumis keeps a close eye on them(pun notwithstanding ^^) and stores digital photos of my eyes from year to year so he can review them and notice any changes or potential issues immediately. As we all know, eyes change over the years, and after a decade or so, my lovely lasiked 20⁄20 vision started drifting back to mildly near-sighted and I now also have the middle-aged issue of focus, which we all get. So I now have glasses again, primarily for driving. Dr. Froumis is able to pinpoint my prescription to just what I need, and when I started having problems seeing maps while driving, he steered me to the progressive bifocals, which I absolutely adore. I love them so much, last time I also got prescription sunglasses, which I’ve never had and now can’t live without. They’ve made vacations so much easier and delightful. Having lived most of my life with the extreme near-sightedness, being able to see everything in perfect clarity is still a treat and a delight for me — Rose, Dr. Gold, Dr. Froumis, and the entire staff there have kept me in vision for a great many years, and I’m thankful and happy to place my trust and my eyes in their care. :)

Dr. Ratra was very thorough and I am very happy. She provided me with multiple options and let me choose the best one for my needs. They have pretty good selection of frames and they provide excellent customer service. I just wish they had quick turn-around time to finish the whole proecdure

I tried this place off a recommendation from PAMF(Palo Alto Medical Foundation) as I was experiencing puffy eyelids. The office is definitely the fanciest optometrist office I have ever stepped into. They had fancy machines which was perfect for me so I could see what my doctor was seeing and better understand what he was talking about. Service from reception to the actual doctor I had was good. The doctor spent a good amount of time with me explaining the condition and answering all of my questions.

0 stars is more like it. I knew I didn’t like the place from the moment I called to schedule my appointment. I just left their office earlier this afternoon and was not impressed — shocked that PAMF would even refer me here. I probably won’t go back for my follow up. My issues: 1. My biggest issue — they handed me a printed prescription to take to my pharmacy for my medication. Are you kidding me? I wanted to lol. I haven’t received a printout prescription for 10+ years… nice. Therefore, I was unable to pick up my prescription because CVS denied it because they couldn’t tell if the signature was printed or signed. Now that the office is closed, I will have to suffer another day! 2. Not informative 3. I could have googled the diagnosis they gave me AVOID this place if you can! It’s like a drive-thru eye service. P. S. drop the attitude people. These people need to sit through a serious CSR training.

Purpose: getting a new eyeglass prescription and choosing new eyeglass frames. I really wanted to subtract a star for the price, but it really didn’t make sense to do so considering my delightful experience. Physical appeal: I would say it’s a fancier optometrist office than most. Service: I was prepared to be treated as one of the masses. Boy, was I wrong! The young man who led me through all the routine eye tests was very professional and let me know everything that he was doing, including explaining what the tests did. Dr. Froumis was very professional, attentive to my needs, and personable. He understood my contact lens situation and that I am on a budget, so had an employee check if I could be covered by the«medically necessary» clause of my insurance contract to try out a hybrid contact lens.(I have terrible astigmatism). Alas, no dice(!), but I am appreciative and glad he checked. The best part of my visit was meeting the optician Jerry. I was uneasy choosing eyeglass frames without any friends’ second opinion. Those fears were quelled once Jerry decided: «Let’s go for something that works with your eyebrow shape.» _I_don’t even know to go for things that work with my eyebrow shape. Jerry was honest, professional yet hilarious, and endlessly knowledgeable and helpful(even told me the difference between optometrists and ophthalmologists!). We ended up talking about cakes and ice cream. At an eyeglass-choosing session. Now _that’s_ a good visit.
