First Smile Pediatric Dentistry

My daughter has been here for over 8 years and the staff and doctor are great. Great location in Sunnyvale which is convenient, the staff are very friendly and dentist is amazing. What more do I need to say.

Dr. Kao is the best! I been bringing my kids for the last 3 years and they are always looking forward to visit the dentist

I have been taking my children here for the last 18 months. Most of the appts are routine six month check ups, cleaning, and xrays. My son did have a cavity filled (he is 7) and they did a great job. I think I was more nervous than my son. The Dr was gentle yet firm and helped my son relax and focus during the procedure.

My son (almost 4.5) has been getting his teeth cleaned for the past 2 years. Dr. Kao and the staff are great at making the environment comfortable for my son. I couldn’t believe when my son was able to lay still enough for his teeth to be cleaned.

I took my son here for the first time when he was 2 years old (Dec. 2007). The exam was more of a «friendly» visit which included a dental education and checking out his teeth with Dr. Kao. The visit wasn’t a big deal; it was mostly to get him comfortable with dental visits. So, I scheduled his next appt. in 6 months on July 2008…
For this last appt. in July, we waited over 20 minutes for the doctor and had our appt. rushed because another one was scheduled at the same time as ours. So, our appt. lasted about 10 minutes and only because I had a list of about five questions for the doctor (brushing procedures, growth formation of teeth, etc). The exam consisted of him counting my son’s teeth which took about three minutes; no cleaning. He was in such a hurry and answered my questions abuptly. Concern: I expect more from a health professional, esp. one dealing with children. We will definitely be going to another dentist in 6 months!
I am giving them 2 stars though because:
1) the nurses were comforting (although receptionist is rude)
2) décor is child-​friendly
