Elegant Nails

THE WORST possible place, dirty utensils, and they’ve cut me twice. It’s the worst of the worst.
Terrible job (I made the mistake of coming a second time) and recently had a horrific experience.
See the video– I told her I got cut and and the manicure was hurting me; she flipped out and cussed me out.
Terrible job and this place is filthy. There’s a great place across the street– go there and runnnnnn from this place.

I sometimes come here for my acrylics. Today I just wanted to treat myself out and came here. The lady who does my nails does amazing as usual! The two ladies are super sweet. When I do my nails I usually get 2 – 3 of my fingers knicked (every nail salon though). My full set was $ 25 & I asked for coffin. I loved the shape it came out to be & my nails look amazing! I loved how she took her time.

I went in today for a mani/​pedi and had an okay-​ish experience. There were only 3 customers in the shop but the two ladies working seemed quite overwhelmed and kept one woman (who actually had an appointment) waiting for more than 40 minutes.
This is not a place to go if you value cleanliness — they don’t open new packages of clean supplies in front of you and I don’t even want to know how many people had used the same nail file as the woman used on me.
I was looking for an inexpensive mani/​pedi but I think next time I’ll pay a little more for peace of mind that they’re using sanitary materials on me.
The owner is very sweet and welcoming but unfortunately in area like this with so many nail salon options around I wouldn’t return here based upon the lack of cleanliness.

I went in to get a fill for my manicure. It took her 2 hours to completely finish my nails which I find extremely unreasonable. I appreciate that she wanted to make them look nice but there is no reason a fill should take that long. She insisted on taking off a few and put a new nail on which I thought was pretty unnecessary. Turns out they charge an extra dollar for every nail that the add so now it makes sense. My friend came with me and she showed a picture of what she wanted to her lady. she said she could do it exactly like that so she agreed. Her nails came out nothing like how she wanted them to look.
The only reason I gave them two stars instead of one is because we previously went to get pedicures and they turned out fine.

Not a fan. When I stepped up to the tub for my pedicure, I saw residue sitting in the there. Instead of rinsing it out again, she just happily began to fill the tub.
Even so, the mani pedi was ok, but I will not get my brows done here again:
She told me to lay down and started wiping powder on my brow. I tried to say how I wanted it, and she said «I know, I know… close your eyes…» I was wondering, how could she possibly know, since my eyebrows haven’t been done in forever, and I’ve never been here before.” But I closed my eyes because I thought she just wanted to finish with the powder before discussing. Next thing I know, the hottest wax I’ve ever felt is being sloshed onto my face out of nowhere. Out of reflex, I opened my eyes and she said Close your eyes!) and proceeded to pull the hair. No shaping, no discussion, no nothing.
Everyone said I looked fine, and it wasn’t horrible. But it was not like I wanted at all, and I have NEVER experienced someone just waxing without consulting that way. It was certainly the fastest wax job I had ever received. As she guided me off of the table, she flashed the mirror in my face, and said «ok ok?» and I didn’t even get to see it. She pushed me back into the lobby and I felt like crying.
I left angry and confused instead of relaxed and happy.

I got a manicure on a Sunday afternoon by some lady that was super nice. I loved how she gave me a very long hand massage and was very polite. She brought me water and cookies without even asking.
However, the way the workers were dressed and acting made me question their business. One of the ladies was wearing a mini skirt that every time she would stand up you could see she was not wearing anything underneath. Some of them were even wearing headphones and talking on the phone while working… very unprofessional in my opinion.

So, I am torn here. I have been going here for 5 years. Lisa does a very good pedicure and always gives me a good massage.
However, I have ALWAYS brought in my own nail polish. Last night, I left without my nail polish. Lisa basically accused me of trying to take one of her bottles.
I dickered with her and then finally just paid and left. No tip. And, I won’t be back. She lost a customer over a bottle of polish.

I have been going here since the shop opened. I followed Lisa from her other place of work which was near South San Jose. Lisa is awesome, and I would recommend her for anything you need done. She takes her time and is efficient at what she does. Yes there is only two people working but its most likely because the business is not always busy. I would suggest calling to make an apt with her!

I was suspicious of the 2 reviews below bc they seemed to be written from area competition. Not letting them deter me, I stopped in and was pleasantly surprised. THe décor is just OK, but they have a huge wall of OPI polish, plus a few sections of other brands. I had a pedicure and manicure for $ 30 and she added glitter polish on two fingers and each toe for no charge. She was very pleasant and there was a TV on playing Ellen. I was satisfied with how my toes and fingers looked, but smudged a nail on the way to the car. I came back in and they fixed it no problem and without making me feel bad. I also got my eyebrows waxed and felt she did a good job and did not burn me. Overall I wouldn’t mind returning.

People here dont speak or understand english AT ALL, which makes communication impossible !!.No massage in a pedicure? that was ridiculous. and then to top it all they were reusing tools without cleaning. I dont think I am going back here

DO NOT GO to this nail salon! There are only 2 women working here now, it has changed ownership, management and employees far too many times. The 2 who now work there don’t know what they are doing! One drew blood and damaged three of my cuticles. She is the one who barely speaks any english. The other one is ALWAYS on her cell phone, is not at all talkative furthermore, how can one concentrate on doing a client’s nails when she is cradling a cell phone at the same time? Also my nails were already lifting after only 5 weeks having a new set put on! This location is not very busy nor are they very clean. They don’t speak English and their tv is on Asian stations. Also, students from Fremont High School crowd around during their lunch break with their disgusting language, attitudes & disrespect for cars or retail establishments in the small center. Music is blasting from the small pizza place next door. Makes for an unnerving time while having your nails done. This place also re-​uses their wax! Their massage chairs hurt, there is nothing relaxing and soothing about them even on low setting.
I would have given a no star or a half star rating if I could have. There are plenty of much better nail salons in the area. Take your business to them and be happy and satisfied because you wont find satisfaction here. Nothing «elegant» about Elegant Nails.

I have to say this place is great. The ladies are all so nice .They did a good job on my feet
I paid 25 dollars for pedi w/​design .Very resonable
I realy love this place, i will definitely come back.
