I just love this restaurante, excellent food, great services, various options, overall just awesome.

I’m typically not into Mediterranean food, but this is one of my favorite restaurants in the bay area. The place has plenty of seating inside thankfully, since they’re so popular. The interior is dimly lit and set up nicely. The food here is amazing. From my past experiences, my impression of Mediterranean food is that it’s a bit dry, but the dishes here are moist, the Basmati rice is super soft and chewy, and the meat is covered in generous amounts of soupy, flavorful sauce(unless you order something like a kebab of course). I ordered the Beriani Dejaj both times I came here, and I’ll probably order it again next time because I love it that much. It comes with thinly sliced, really tender chicken, Basmati rice, and plump sweet braised grapes. All of that is served on a huge plate with a bunch of soup with thick consistency, so it was almost like a sauce. The soup is slightly creamy and tangy, and the sweetness of the grapes go really well with it. The service here is great as well. They don’t rush their customers despite being so popular, and they were very attentive the whole time even though we were seated in the back corner. Will definitely be back!

I’m just piggybacking on all the positive reviews for DishDash by saying that it definitely deserves the 5 stars! I’ve been here several times already, and each visit has been better than the last. A few of my favorites are: — Hummus: The best hummus I’ve ever eaten, served with a variety of pickled vegetables. I’m so greedy that I ask for more complimentary bread so I can scrape up every last bit of hummus on the plate. — Shish Kebab: Tender, juicy, perfectly seasoned cubes of lamb. Need I say more? I always get it with the Basmati rice(which is just as addicting) and it’s also served with a side of seasonal vegetables. — Mansaf: SO. AMAZING. Chunks of tender lamb, slow-cooked in a yogurt sauce and served on a bed of rice. Drooling just thinking about this now. — Zahra: Basically the same thing as the Mansaf but instead of chunks of lamb, you get the biggest lamb shank EVER. Boyfriend approved. — Baklava: No matter how full I am from dinner, I’ll always order this in a heartbeat. Crispy, warm baklava served with vanilla bean ice cream. How could you not? DishDash has become one of my favorite spots to dine in DT Sunnyvale. The ambiance is intimate, although the restaurant itself is rather spacious, and the service is always fantastic. I’m just counting down the days till my next visit :)

DishDash is the top restaurant that I use almost weekly. I loveeeee their fattoush salads, shish tauk and I especially love the mshakelah vegetarian meal! It’s so yummy with that orange sauce!!! Amit & Allie are so amazing!!! They seriously accomplish the impossible over and over again for my team and I. The service is unexplainable and the food is great!!! However it is not the same without Danny but they are still an amazing team.

Boyfriend and I tried this for lunch during a short visit to Sunnyvale. The restaurant was large and crowded at 2pm on a Monday, which was surprising. We ordered the Sambusak Dajaj(3 triangles of chicken and mushrooms inside a crunchy puff pastry, in some sort of spinach sauce) and the Beriani Dajaj based on Unilocal reviews(chicken with a sort of yogurt-curry sauce). The food came quickly and we found it delicious though quite heavy. I also ordered a mango lassi which I liked — it wasn’t as sweet as some mango lassi’s, and instead had a stronger yogurt flavor. I’d certainly recommend trying it at least once, but I won’t be insisting that I return on my next San Fran visit.

I ordered the Sambusak, which is a fried pocket of dough, filled with nuts, chicken, and mushrooms(think of a Mediterranean empanada)! It is served on a bed of sauce, and it comes with 3 portions. It’s yummy, and my second time trying it, but the dish doesn’t excite my tastebuds, the dish was very«one-note,» hence 3 stars. Note: the restaurant gets pretty packed around lunch, so come early or come after 1pm so you don’t get«hangry!»

We came here for dinner around 7:45pm on a Tuesday and there was a 30 minute wait. Parking was not a problem with the Macy’s across the street. The interior was dark but probably made it romantic for people on dates in my opinion(or not). After we were seated, we decided immediately on what to order. I ordered the Tika Kebob($ 19.95) and my friends both ordered the Shish Kebob($ 19.95). We snacked on some pita bread with the dipping sauce. A little while later, all three of our dishes came out. The Tika Kebob was delicious and the chutney complemented the beef so well. It just made me eat faster because it was so good to me. If you like beef then the Tika Kebob would be for you. I wasn’t feeling lamb which was what the Shish Kebob was. The portion would be enough for one person and not give you a food coma. DishDash was great and I wouldn’t mind coming back!

This place is the bomb! I highly recommend the lamb dishes here especially the lamb leg cooked in the aged yogurt sauce. The starters are quite good as well with the hummus, roasted eggplants, and wrapped leaves being the best ones. Prices are decent but tend to be on the high side with average dish around $ 18. However, this place gives quite an authentic flavor of middle eastern dishes. There are a lot of seats at this restaurant, so coming in groups would not be an issue. Parking is also quite convenient due to the two large parking complexes nearby. Happy eating!

Overall experience:(2.5÷5) Ambiance: Dimly lit, slightly cozy, and romantic casual setting. Service: mediocre. My server was MIA half the time and we saw him walked around aimlessly. The hostess was nice but other then that, the table they sat us in was basically right in the waiting area… Oh and i even had to even order my drink from the manager after waiting 20−30mins for our server to at least pop up or check on us. Food: My friend’s sea bass in tomato sauce was the best dish of the night. My seabass and prawn dish was meh… Each of us had a bite and left it there. The sautéed lamb appetizer we had was ok. I forgot the names… The yogurt and gelato with mixed berry swirl was good. Drinks: The«Lush» cocktail was too sweet and thick. The«very berry» cocktail was like fruit punch. Both had very little alcohol and tasted of mainly sugar. Not sure if i came on a bad night, i had high expectations with all the good reviews, but tonight was not enjoyable at all. I will only rate highly of the sea bass in tomato sauce that my friend had and the dessert we had. The fish was flaky and cooked perfectly and the dessert was refreshing. Would i come back? Maybe.

The food is great! The decoration is busy but you can find some authentic looking anatolian tapestry and artifacts on the walls. A nice spot for a big groups, gets very crowded at lunch time so make a reservation. Limited outdoor space, wish it had a small garden like some of the other restaurants on Murphy street. I especially like starting out with the mezes. The ocra was good and can’t go wrong with the kofte wrap with feta.

I went to this place twice in the two weeks that I was in San Jose and I’m pretty sure if it was completely up to me I would’ve gone many many more times. I don’t think I’ve ever craved a dish more than I’ve craved the Zahra. I would give this place a 4 star for the other dishes that I’ve had(Tabsi and M’Sakhan), but the the Zahra gets a 5 and the lamb shank version of the Zahra gets a bloody 5.5 because I almost cried while I was having it. I heard the mensaf is the same dish without the cauliflower but even as an avid meat eater, I felt that the roasted cauliflowers made the dish all the more fantastic. The place always seems to be packed and service first time was all right, but the second time was wonderful. Highly recommend! Wish this place opened up on the east coast, I would drive miles on miles for it.

I’ve been to the other DishDash location and was very happy with my meal. People have raved about this location and my picky parents who can’t settle on a restaurant they enjoy(or a hair dresser) continually return time and time again. Eats: Falafel wrap — I’m not even a falafel fan but this was tasty, perfectly seasoned and the texture was spot on. There are lots of ways to mess up falafel. Fortunately, DishDash is one of the places that doesn’t. Hummus — Wasn’t the best I’ve had, but it was creamy. Could have used a bit more spice. Baba — Ehh I just wasn’t a fan. Weird texture. Okay pet peeve alert! Some amazing pita or a fresh wrap can take a falafel wrap to the next level. Why wrap such standout falafel in a wrap that honestly was stale and TASTELESS. WHY? Summary, falafel — spot on. Wrap outside and others… not what dreams are made of.

I’m glad the two times I’ve been here we had reservations so didn’t have to wait. My personal favorite dish is the Tabsi(minced beef & lamb, eggplant, onions, tomatoes, peppers, curry, dry lime). My husband’s favorite is the Beriani Dejaj. Portion size is more than enough especially for lunch, even if the prices are a bit on the high end for lunch prices. The mango drink is also very popular amongst my friends. Definitely a different experience from other middle eastern restaurants, and highly recommended.

One of my favorite restaurants to dine at. The ambiance is amazing. The food is amazing. The service is phenomenal. I came here with my huge family of 9 people. We are kind of difficult, but the waiters were extremely patient and extremely friendly. Now for the food. I ordered the M’shakaleh. Instead of getting the yogurt tomato sauce, I just asked for the tomato sauce. So if you don’t eat dairy, that’s always an option. If you love mushrooms, this is the dish to get! I will be coming back here again and again!

Very tasty stuff, I have to say the giro was different than I expected and while very good it wasn’t the best one I have ever had(I have been to Israel I should mention that). The place had great hummus(again not the best but way above average). Overall this place is very good, but way does it get crowded. I didn’t think the food was THAT good to have such a following, but next trip I will try something else. Tip, get there at 11:00 — 11:15, by 11:30 it is packed and by noon there a big wait.

I finally got to try this place while I was in the downtown Sunnyvale area. The place just opened for lunch on Saturday(11) so we were the first customers. The ladies at the front were talking to each other without saying anything to us for a minute, so it was awkward. They did seat us in the bigger side of the restaurant and let us pick our desired seat. Then we ordered the vegetarian platter and a slow roasted lamb and black eyed bean entrée(at the bottom of the lunch menu, forgot the name). The vegetarian platter came with pita bread, which was yummy and warm. I loved this leafy wrap with a sticky pasta/rice, even though it’s a bit odd to eat at first, like peanut butter. The other sampler items were also amazing. My boyfriend enjoyed the lamb, it was very tender. He was quite full and we got a bit Of leftovers at the end. The place is great for Mediterranean food, and I’ll try something different next time I come!

This is a lovely restaurant! We were able to sit outside so that I could watch my car in case anyone tried to give me a parking ticket but also because the weather was so great. My goal was to not eat beef since I just came from temple and it was my poor attempt to try and be a good Hindu at least on Diwali. So just like in My Big Fat Greek Wedding… I went with the lamb :) Tabsi Falafel — The sauce was delicious. The falafel was so green when you opened it. The sauce was spicy and it went perfectly with the Mansaf… speaking of the Mansaf… Mansaf — I simply died. I was sharing with the person next to me and we had a plan, I make him a plate and he makes me a plate. I’m not gonna lie, I wanted to take my plate back. It was so delicious! In fact, I think I did. You should order this with the rice. It was perfect. The slow cooked lamb was just melting in my mouth. We also ordered the Pinot Noir and that was a great pairing as well. I thought we were going to need ToGo boxes but all this food needed to go was in my stomach!

I absolutely loved the inside of the restaurant. The lighting was dim and the seating was really comfortable. The decorations were really nice. The service was really good. Our waiter checked in periodically. And was really informative. I felt like the plates and tables were really clean. The food itself was really good! I ordered a vegetarian dish, the name of it, was really complicated and I don’t remember it. And the portions were perfect. Definitely one of my favorite Mediterranean restaurants

I honestly expected more from dishdash. The food didn’t seem to hit the spot for me… I’m vegan and this is what I ordered: Appetizers: ~Hummus: Very tasty, but small portion size. ~Lentil Soup: Comforting, but not a standout dish. ~Falafel: Standard; nothing exceptional. Entrees: ~M’shakaleh: Too many mushrooms! ~Tabsi Falafel: Ew. Tasted like oily, flavorless wet vegetable manchurian(an indian curry dish made from deep fried vegetable balls that I adore). Although the ambience and service at Dishdash were good, the food was quite mediocre, so I don’t think I’ll be returning.

Back in high school, I remember walking by a classmate in Ms. Bragg’s English class as he was regaling people around him with the story of how his entire basketball team managed to pull an IHOP dine-and-dash. Now, I was a very, very sheltered kid and had to ask him afterward to define«dine-and-dash.» When he did, I think I shot him a withering look(my first job was at a family owned Chinese restaurant, and I definitely wouldn’t have appreciated customers walking out without paying the bill). A decade+ later(my how time flies)!, I couldn’t help but think about that interaction when my good friend, Jacque C., mentioned that she had made dinner reservations for our mutual friend’s surprise birthday party at DishDash. Another thing about me, I’m not very good with surprises — receiving them, planning them, etc. It just messes with my whole control freak streak. To make a long story short, after having to ruin the surprise in order to get our hangry friend from beque to DishDash, we arrived half an hour past our reservation. I called on our drive over and the woman on the phone said that while she had already given up our table, she would try her best to seat us when we arrived. When we finally arrived, the restaurant was packed(what do you expect on a Saturday night?), and I had to wade through a large group of people standing right inside the front door to get to the hostesses. The hostess I spoke to was true to her word, and graciously managed to seat us within 10 minutes of getting there — awesome! At this point, all of us hangry Type A gals had our noses in our menus, fuming a little about being late. Luckily for us, we had a really attentive waiter who seemed to sense impending danger and swooped in with fresh pita bread and an olive oil based dipping sauce. Thank you, thank you. By the time he circled back around to take our order, we had wolfed it all down and a passing busboy came around with another plate. Since my brain had yet to register the wads of pita bread heading down my esophagus, I asked for the maza sampler for 4, confident that we could polish all of that off. Our waiter smiled and talked me down from the 4-person ledge to the 2, reassuring me that it was plenty. For a split second my competitive side reared forward and I heard myself say, «Just because we’re tiny Asian girls doesn’t mean we can’t eat!» Oy vey. As soon as that sentenced actually registered in my brain, I cringed, mumbled my dinner order, and stuck another piece of pita bread in my trap. Ten minutes or so later, pita bread sitting pretty in my tummy, the maza sampler arrived and I was so glad the waiter made the recommendation he did. We BARELY finished everything, and once we did, we regretted ordering an appetizer altogether since our dinner entrée servings were equally as generous. I wanted to cry because I couldn’t finish my plateful of deliciously tender and perfectly seasoned tika kebab over fluffy basmati rice. Maybe some of y’all know that horrible, horrible feeling of being absolutely STUFFED and still wanting to shovel down food. Oh well. I think at that point i knew I would have died and gone to heaven perfectly content. Just thinking about the tika kebab as I type this is making my mouth water. I can’t recommend DishDash enough, and I know it’s a place I’d confidently take my family and friends to.
