I happened to take my car for an inspection yesterday to Charlie, and to describe my experience In a few words «Charlie is honest, extremely polite, explains every bit of information regarding his opinions about your car, best service I have ever had till date »

I can’t believe I’ve never left a review for Charlie. He’s in a word — awesome. Here’s an example of how he helped me even when he didn’t need to: My car door wouldn’t unlock and when I called Charlie for help, he actually went to the trouble to researching and… Even going to the car dealership to get some ideas etc. he did all this so that I wouldn’t have to bring the car in if he couldn’t help anyways. However I appreciate Charlie’s help in going the extra mile.
Additionally, I echo what others have mentioned — he will not use scare tactics like other places do. If something has to be fixed, he will tell you. If something can wait, he will tell you that as well. He’s not one of those mechanics who will give you a laundry list of «things to fix» and then ask you, the customer who has 0 knowledge about cars to choose what you want fixed!
I usually get a 2^nd opinion from Charlie for anything the dealer recommends. The prices are cheap. I highly recommend Charlie.

Didn’t have a great experience her. Charlie is very nice, but it just didn’t work out. There’s was no one there when I went to drop off the car the first time (I guess they were running late that morning), but I dropped it off anyway and left the key in the mail slot. I included a note of things of the things I wanted done, which we’d already discussed on the phone.
Since I live an hour’s walk away I made it clear that I needed lots of warning if I was going to make it there by closing. After hearing nothing all day I called an hour before closing and was told they needed another day because they needed some tools. The next day I had to keep calling for updates and quotes on labor, calls were frequently not returned, or if there was an answer a call back was promised but never happened. I was always friendly and accommodating.
When I finally picked it up, most of the things I’d asked for weren’t done (apparently my note was never read) and to top it off he hadn’t even noticed that the check engine light was on. Totally unimpressed and I do not like being given the run around, so I won’t go back.

I’m honestly convinced that most of these reviews are fake. I got trapped a year ago when Charlie charged me 2x the price of normal labor for the same job: he changed my radiator, which broke down again soon after. when I took it to the other mechanic, I got it changed for half the price. Charlie also tried to play the card of «sorry I underestimated the cost», and tried to charge me another $ 200. As a piece of advice for you who are searching for a good mechanic, try Evelyn avenue. it’s very close by and people there are generally a lot more reliable (I tried 2)

4.5 stars! Charlie is so nice and very fair about the price even I am a girl who knows little about cars. Whenever the dealer recommends any additional service I also consult Charlie and he tells me if it’s necessary or not!!!

Charlie is the best. I’ve been taking my cars here for the past 9 years and he has taken very good care of them. He doesn’t overcharge and recommends only what’s required.

I don’t know what to say. I’m relieved that I can go to a mechanic shop and feel I’m not being taken advantage of. Charlie is just great at his craft. It is a gift to have that type of talent.

This is the first place that I have gone to outside of Pep boys and I am sooo happy with all the hard work Charlie has put into my 14 yr old minivan! He did a huge task in changing the gasket valve cover and changed a lot of tubes and a few more. Also because of an unfortunate event at Terrible towing company he repaired the covering under the front of my vehicle that broke off on the spot. I am glad to have found a trusting mechanic! :D

Charlie is awesome. Does what is necessary and does the job right.

I have been going to Choice auto for about 6 years now. I am so glad to have found this place. Charlie is a very sincere and diligent mechanic. We take all 4 of our cars there from oil changes to timing belts. I know nobody else will care for my vehicles like Choice Auto Repair.

No wonder he got all 5 stars. because Charlie deserves it.
Very honest, (if he says yes, something to be done to your car, thats means it needs to be changed, no overstating) and reliable.
I take my toyota and lexus to Charlie ALL the time. best part is he is very nice to people and try his best to help.

I took Nissan xTerra a few times for tune ups and oil changes. I found he is always reasonable and explains issues in an easier to understand fashion. When I took last time my Xterra for a minor oil leak, he took a look at it and suggested how severe the leak was. In fact, the leak was minor and it came from the back of the engine which needs time to fix. So he asked me to bring the SUV on another day where he can spend time fixing it.
I like his host approach to clients.

Simply the best! I have been going to Charlie for the last 3 years for my Nissan Sentra. He has always been wiling to take a look even if i turn up with out an appointment. Unlike other auto repair centers, he does not scare you by saying that there are so many issues in the car that need to be fixed immediately. Only if absolutely necessary will he ask you to get a part replaced.
He is very professional, honest and will never over charge you for any service. Super friendly and extremely knowledgeable guy, Even the rest of the staff know their job well.

I went here on the recommendation from my friend who is their regular customer. Amazing people. chalie and his team mate Juane (thts his name right ??) he told me to come at a specified time and I went there and he immediately took my car for oil change and regular maintenance.
He inspected my car and showed me that brakes were almost dead and need to be replaced and told me to talk to Charlie and get the estimate… honest guyz and very down to earth…
the oil change was done in 15 – 20 minutes and while doing that Juane was chatting with me like an old friend.
Great people and great work…

I have gone to Charly right from the time his shop opened. I have recommended him to all family and friends and they are his permanent customers now. An honest mechanic is almost impossible to find but I have struck gold here. He has accommodated me whenever I have had tight schedules. Although, I live in Tracy and work in South Bay, I schedule my repair work during the weekdays so that I can have Charly’s service.

Charlie has been taking care of my brother’s cars for over 5 years and I have joined the fleet of his care for my cars.
I got my Honda Accord Timing belt and 90K service done. It came close to $ 1000 all together.
He has given me clear quote of parts and labor. Came to my home early morning. Parked his car in my car’s garage, took my car, did all the work, brought it back to my home in the evening. I have paid the check, he took his car. It has been several months, no issue so far.
I believe that he is honest, for which I pay if he charges more at all.
Update: Some more positive feedback based on my recent work by Charlie.
My Camry timing belt and 90K service was done by «76 Homestead Autocare» on Homestead Rd near Kaiser Hospital few years back. In fact the work was not done, they have just looted $ 700 from me for that, which I never know till the last week. Eventually that timing belt was broken on the way to my office and I never know what was the reason initially (since I have got the timing belt changed 15K miles back). Towed to Charlie’s shop (just a phone call to him that my car is getting towed to him).
He has diagnosed it beyond the timing belt since I have told him that it was changed recently. Eventually it turned out to be timing belt and few other issues inside. Charlie has fixed it in two days (gotta clean the engine from these pieces of timing belt etc). He has explained what has happened, gave the price estimate etc before fixing the issue. I am very happy with his work. I thought it would mess up my engine valves etc for $ 1K-​2K bill. But was nicely handled within few hundreds by Charlie. Even he has given the damaged parts so that I can fight with the previous liar work, but I choose not to do that.
Good work Charlie, I prefer to pay extra for your honesty.

honest and reliable auto mechanic whom we can trust to get regular auto services done.
My experience was that i did get my brakes replaced here for 110 $ instead of the 250 $ i paid at the dealer last time.

Charlie worked on both of my Supercharged NSX and Supercharged GTO and my brother’s RX8 with stellar results.
He is super polite and VERY honest.
The prices are VERY reasonable (not sure how he puts food on the table for his family sometimes).
If he can’t do the work, he’ll let you know.
I NEVER had to look over my back with charlie like I have with many other shops in the past. He’s one of those mechanics that I trust enough so I just hand over the keys and give instructions on what and where on the cars.

There are lots of times I forget to call ahead and I drive in hoping Charlie can fit me in. I have never been turned away. Charlie is always busy at his garage but he always manages to find some time to help you no matter the issue. I don’t know how he does it or where he finds the time. He’s always straight forward & honest when giving his assessment of a problem & never tries to talks you into something you may not need like some other places. He tells it like it is and I appreciate that. There is no better & honest mechanic that I would take my car to.
