it’s a moderate trek from the nearest subway stop, and looks like it’s seen better days, but if you’re looking for a cheap pool hall, Paradise Café fills the need. it was a Saturday afternoon and the place was empty. it was quite dark inside — only a small indication of light comes from the outdoors, while the tables and overhead lamps have seen plenty of years but are still in good shape. there are a ton of tables to play on. service was friendly. they have a menu of bagged snacks, desserts, and Spanish food. I had to fight the urge to order plantains, and settled for a few rounds of $ 4 Heinekens. there’s a catering hall adjoined to the pool hall. also, pinatas for sale at the bar. yes, I was deliberating whether or not to buy one for my friend whose birthday it was, but cooler(and sober) heads prevailed. curses! I’m pretty terrible at pool, but for about three hours of play time, a table was $ 20. I think that was even cheaper than the listed price on the signs. guess it was a slow day! there’s also ping pong and some arcade games — mostly Buck Hunter(and knockoffs) and some racing games. overall, it’s a good place to kill some time for a few hours.

I won’t be all sour grapes-y and give Paradise a bad review because I have terrible hand-eye coordination and can’t play pool to save my life. Oddly enough, I have great penmanship so I guess I’m not completely lacking in the motor skills department. Paradise is not exactly paradise. The massage chairs are broken, the snacks are packaged(I really thought there would be popcorn or something along those lines), and it’s just not the kind of place I normally hang out at. To its credit though, it was a good place for us to enjoy each other’s company, admire the birthday boy and his girlfriend’s special gloves for pool, and play arcade games. I’m more at home in a swimming pool than at a pool hall(swimming is my sport!) but Paradise served a purpose and did it well. I’m intrigued by the Latin food offerings and would be interested in checking that out, should I be there again.

Went there on a Saturday night to play table tennis with my friend had a good time. Place needs some renovation done. The price is cheap to play a game of ping pong, probably the cheapest in queens. The waitresses are helpful, always asking if you need a drink or anything. They also have pool tables and arcade. The place got packed around 11PM and lots of people bought small kids to this place and let them roam around. This became annoying, cause they would inter-fear with our game. They also seem have a party room. Place is good to hang out and get a game in on pool or table tennis.

I have been to this place many times before I joined Unilocal.I go there with my practice partner to play Tabble Tennis. It is not the best environment for serious Table Tennis Players because of the obstacles around the Tables, but it is very reasonable in the the price they charge. If it was not for the obstacles around the Tables T would have given it a five. It is ideal for begginer Ping Pong Players who don’t move around much. I do reccomended to friends…

i been to paradise café a few times. they have a lot of pool tables, ping pong tables, arcade. its never crowded altho its located in an isolated area. just looks scary to walk here by myself. luckily i have a lexus ladies. the prices here are pretty reasonable, on the lower end actually. but there’s just something about this place that i’m not feelin. its too lighted to start with. i like my pool halls dark with music bumpin. with the yellow lights, i could see all the ugly seedy people. and like i said earlier, its pretty empty and big so it has the feel as if you’re at a whack party. but i do love my ping pong. did u just say«of course»? FU racist Unilocalers. this place is the closest place around my glorious jackson heights that has ping pong so big ups for that. still 2 stars for the bad environment.

Been here a few times since my boyfriend lives a few blocks away. All I see here is skeevy guys and old ass waitresses with their boobs popping out … Not that different from other pool halls. I like the little game section in the back and there’s a party room for special occasions. Haven’t been here in a while but I would come here if there’s nothing else to do and I don’t want to stay at home.

I really thought this place was going to be fun. Like, a good arcade. Of course, it’s not. It’s in the middle of nowhere. What was I thinking? $ 10 for a table(unlimited people) is pretty reasonable, but this place is filthy. On a Sunday night, I’d expect a large crowd but there was barely anyone. There’s even people playing by themselves. Is it that much better to play solo? It was amusing watching this old dude pulling all the moves and shooting a ball with his back against the table… only to see his targeted ball barely making it near the hole. According to the guy at the counter, we went«1 minute» overtime and was charged 25 cents. WHAT?! It was barely an hour. And quick note: do not buy beverage/food from this place. I paid $ 2 for a bottle of Snapple that wasn’t even cold. I can get than for a dollar at Stop & Shop!

I remember coming here just about every week during my high school days. The tables weren’t great but their prices were cheap. Now nearly a decade later the tables are still far from perfect and the ping pong tables are situated so strange such that If we slam the ball, you will have to walk around the barriers and go under the arcades to fetch your ping pong ball. They should really put up some nets or something so that we don’t have to fetch the one ball they provide us with. The ping pong balls aren’t even the official balls, They are made from Sky bounce(the same as the $ 1 handball brand). If you are looking to play arcades, half of their machines are a mess, broken or outdated. I hope they fix this place up some more but for now. its just average. I have seen worse before but I have seen a lot better places. If your around the area and need a pool hall to go to, then I suggest this place. But if your driving around and have other options to go to, there are plenty of other places you can go to.
