This place had so much promise but after a few visits, I have been left very disappointed. First, it has what must be the world’s most misleading website. It borders on false advertising. Do not rely on the menu on their website as nothing found there is actually offered anymore. The rest of the website is just generally misleading(as opposed to totally inaccurate). I find it very strange that a place that offers every type of online-discount deal under the sun does not have an acceptable website. Second, whatever food they do offer is usually unavailable. Either the chef isn’t in or they ran out of something. As a result, I’ve never actually eaten here. Third, it used to be a great place to get very cheap drinks. It had excellent beer bucket deals(I think it was 5 Budweisers for $ 12 and 5 PBRs for $ 10; not sure if it was an all night deal). But no more. I was here for happy hour a week or two ago and there were no specials. .. nothing. To be fair, there were things that were called«specials». For example, there was an attempt to disguise a 5-Coronas-for-$ 25 offer as some kind of happy hour special. Fourth, if this place is called Off The Blvd, it should have a sign reflects its actual name. Is it called«Off The Blvd», «Boulevard», «Boulevard Lounge»? The inaccurate sign doesn’t really hurt the experience here, but it adds to the aura of mismanagement. But it’s not all bad. The waitress(I’ve only seen one and it’s always the same person) is very friendly and attentive and the backyard area is a great place to enjoy a drink.

Got the groupon, went yesterday and they said their kitchen is closed and will be closed after the Groupon expires. The bar tender(who was really cool) suggested I get a refund. Methinks not.

My first time to eat here, was nothing too amazing. It has a garden which was nice and laid back. I kept thinking a hookah was going to get offered?! In the end, food seemed very bar menu-ish, and was nice to eat. You are supposed to reserve with a groupon, and when I called last minute, I felt like I was lucky to get a table. Yet oddly enough it was not crowded? The waiter was very friendly, he did forget our water at the end though! A few little things need addressing and up that menu some more, really not exciting. Some items kept getting repeated, a big NONO to put Nachos on Starters and Main course? I like the place more or less :) I may return again,?? One last thing, the water served to us had no Ice? Very odd for NY, also on such a Hot Day! Let’s not be cheap with Ice of all things…

I came to this place using a Living Social coupon. The menu was competely differerent as advertised on the website. The food did not taste good at all, the drink which only included screwdriver and something else. Screwdriver it tasted more like plain orange juice. we ask for Tap water which it was temperature water. Not even cold water. For appetizer we ordered chicken wings and jalapeño poppers. The chicken wings were cold. Im sure they were frozen wings. The entrees that we ordered were chicken quesadilla and a Chicken wrap. It was that bad that we only ate about 60 percent of our food… After all, service wass great but I would not come back to this place… Entrees are 13 dollars each which its too much money for the quality of food that I got… Taco bell makes better quesadillas than this place… ,

The first time I went there food and service was great! Clams, shrimp, and salmon had great flavor and was cooked properly. Sad to say I returned for fish tacos but the menu had changed for the worst! They gave us a teaspoon of guacamole for our nachos, the bun on the slider had green mold, we had a choice of only two cocktails from which to choose. Definitely not worth the money I paid much less the«full value». Service was ok. Waitress kept apologizing, but really not her fault. Manager said they were«new» and still trying to get the menus set? Not a satisfied customer.

This review is for those who came to Off the Blvd Lounge looking for a nice dinner experience. My dad bought the deal on Groupon, expecting a decent meal with the family. However, everything from the service to the meal was just plain bad. I’ve always wondered what it would take for me to give a place a one star review, and I suppose this is it. The first red flag should’ve been when I had to call the lounge multiple times before we were able to come in for dinner. The first time I called, I found out that the kitchen doesn’t open on Mondays. So great, no Monday night dinner, I can live with that. The time I called after that, turns out just that night the kitchen wasn’t open either(it was a Tuesday), there was some problem, the guy on the phone said. Okay, I can live with that. Things happen. Third time I called, the kitchen was closed due to the rain. That was a pretty weird thing to hear, but after looking on Unilocal and seeing the outdoor dining area I realized why. After the 4th time, we were finally able to be seated for dinner. When we got the menu, I was immediately disappointed. The menu they have on their website, which boasted items like salmon, lamb, fish tacos, and clams, was instead replaced with. basically bar food. Our choice of appetizers were all fried items like mozzarella sticks and popcorn shrimp. We decided with the calamari, which I thought was pretty good, but nothing spectacular. Our entrée options were all lunch-y food. Sandwiches. Burgers. Philly cheese steaks. On top of that, there were only about 5 options. What happened to the menu that the website had? We immediately felt ripped off by the deal. My mom tried to order the pork chops(which seemed to be the most exquisite item on the extremely limited menu), only to find out that the kitchen had run out of pork chops. We got to the restaurant at around 7:30PM, which is pretty early for them to be running out of pork chops. Their running out of food seems to be a trend, because I later overheard the waitress telling a table next to us that they had run out of mozzarella sticks. And later, the table on the other side of us ordered a popcorn shrimp, but instead, they got half an order of shrimp and half an order of calamari because«there weren’t enough popcorn shrimps, and the chef didn’t want you to only have like, 5 shrimps.» Disappointing. Not only did the food take FOREVER to come, but it all tasted mediocre/bad. Our family had fries, a philly cheese steak, a turkey club sandwich, and a burger. I had a taste of all of these and it was nothing worth waiting almost an hour for. Food like this should’ve taken no more than 20 minutes to prepare, especially since there was definitely not that many people eating dinner at the time. We came on a Wednesday night. My philly cheese steak wasn’t HORRIBLE but definitely nothing I would choose to eat again. Finally, the service. Like I mentioned above, the food took FOREVER to come. The check took FOREVER to come. But I’m a forgiving person, and even until the end of the meal I told myself I’d give the waitress a nice review because she was genuinely friendly and nice to us, and tried to service us as much as she could. However, my foul mood from the bad food, the slow service, and the mosquitoes that were having a better meal than I was on my leg made me snap. We asked the waitress to get us some take out boxes for the Philly cheese steaks and fries that we couldn’t finish, and just the box alone took 10 minutes. It would’ve taken more if we didn’t have to remind her to get them. I would’ve been more understanding if it was a busy night, but there were 4 tables maximum seated at the moment, and there was really no excuse to forget such a simple request. I guess the mosquitoes may have sparked more negative feelings within me, but the waitress really could’ve handled her customers a lot better throughout the night. I really did have a bad time at this establishment, but it wasn’t ALL bad, I suppose. Their outdoor patio is actually a really nice place to relax and have a couple of drinks with friends. It’s small and cozy, with actual patio furniture so it almost feels like you’re chilling in someone’s backyard. It also has a small fountain in the back, which sets a tranquil atmosphere. Judging from the rest of these reviews, I’m sure the«lounge» aspect of the Boulevard is a lot better. Stay away if you’re looking for a quality dinner!

Terrible! Went in with our Living Social deal and were disappointed to say the least that the menu online was no longer in existence! That was the whole reason I bought the deal! What we were offered instead was some greasy bar food, not even worth the total I paid for the deal. The waitress was very apologetic, and we could not blame her for the incapability of the managerial staff– one of whom I spoke to before leaving. He offered no apology for the change of menu, but did apologize for the five items that they ran out of, leaving our choices to be slim to none. His apology was extremely insincere, being he only apologized because I approached him on the way out. He should have come to our table earlier and offered a drink or an apology, but he seemed too busy on his laptop. The only reason there are some good reviews for this place is because they are most likely from the manager, busily typing away on his laptop.

06/08/2012 Went to dinner using the Living Social coupon. The good news: nice garden, but if it was raining, the inside area was as dark and appealing as a dungeon. Hard working waitress, competent chef — what food served was tasty. The bad news: Nothing on their menu matched what was written in the offer [ shrimp, clams, fish tacos]. Basically it was like a bar menu; burgers, sliders, tuna melt with a Pabst Beer or screwdriver as the cocktails. Appetizers were Onion rings? OK, the calamari appetizer was crisp, but that was it. Moules Frites, as an entrée? Ha! the plate was barely an appetizer portion. Since the coupon offer is a chance to try a place, I don’t expect a star restaurant and weigh the pros and cons accordingly; however, this felt like a bait and switch situation and that rates a definite NO in my book.

The recent addition of Off The Blvd in Sunnyside is definitely a must-try for anyone looking for a lounge with a relaxed environment. The staff is extremely friendly and make the experience not only pleasant, but quite entertaining. The place has a beautiful outdoor garden in the back that is perfect for the summer nights. Inside, the décor is tastefully arranged and isn’t overdone to take away from the limited space, and it compliments the look. The menu caters to both the vegetarians and non-vegs. My recommendation is the Fried Oreos, which can’t be missed. Overall, the laid back experience mixed with great hosts make Off The Blvd a great choice to hang out at. Awesome job guys…

Music bumping, good drinks, good food, great, friendly staff! What more do you need for me to convince you to give this place a shot? Go. Please? This place just opened not too long ago, and I sincerely hope they make it. The staff and owner are very warm and friendly. The sampling of food I received was good, though some dishes should be reconsidered for a close proximity setting such as a lounge. Will return! P.S — They have comedy nights, beer tastings, live DJ’s, and a good menu, try it out!

I really dig this place so far. I’ve spent a few afternoons here in last week and have had very pleasant experiences. What keeps bringing me back is the patio section in the rear. I usually go for the PBR and grab a table outside and enjoy the sunshine. I also tried their burger which was cooked very well and has some tasty coleslaw on it. I look forward to spending more time here.

Formerly knows as ‘Boulevard’ this little place in Sunnyside has gotten new management, a new chef and friendly helpful bartenders. They’re really trying to make a go of it this time with chalk advertising $ 2PBR’s daily(excellent idea), a new jukebox, and a small tight menu with sliders, unique hot dogs, fish tacos, and even salmon escoffier! WOW! THe vibe is pretty laid back and they have tried having some live music, DJ’s and other special events. They are also gay friendly. More updates later, but I hope this place sticks around. Sometimes the music can be a little uneven with loud rock music sometimes, and middle of the road, pop the next.

Apparently this place just opened up around the corner from my place and I couldn’t be happier. I found them because of their brilliant marketing campaign of writing $ 2 beers in chalk right outside the 40th Street subway stop. I haven’t tried anything other than said $ 2PBR’s but the atmosphere of the place is great. Super friendly staff(another patron told me the cook whipped him up some tacos even though it wasn’t on the menu). A young clientele(especially compared to other bars around the hood) and actually a VERY nice beer garden out back with low Christmas light lighting(where you can also smoke). This place is stumble distance from my apartment in Sunnyside, so I am definitely going to be spending more time there.
