I ordered chicken curry from this place a couple of times and i liked it each time. Even though they don’t give you that many pieces of chicken(around 5 or so), it tasted pretty good and the rice was good too imo.

One of the worst Indian food I ever had. I order paneer makhni but curry is la like water only. Sorry but reality is 3rd grade India food.

Food is decent but delivery order took almost 2 hours and one dish had a burnt smoke flavor and everything was less then room temperature. We did call and ask for replacement dish and it was hot tasty and delivered fast. I hope this is an isolated incident.

Tastiest Indian food in Sunnyside. We’ve ordered from 3 or 4 in the neighborhood but this one never disappoints for both dine in or delivery. Portions are not huge, big the are big enough. I don’t think we’ll go elsewhere in the ‘hood for Indian anymore.

If I could go here everyday for their shag paneer I would. They have lovely naan as well but their lamb on the bone is excellent as well as their vegetarian meals. Plus everything is very affordable. Curry Point is always amazing. Go here A+

Absolutely terrible. I have no idea what happened. We used to like this place, but will never order from here again. Take out took an our(from 8:50 to 9:50 pm), and all of the food was bad. Even the naan was dry and tasteless. The«yogurt sauce» was sour and unpleasant. The chicken tika, chicken kabob combo consisted of a humungous portion of rice w/four pieces of chicken tika and a single kabob for over $ 10. Nothing was good. Also, when we called to check on our order, we had to call 5 times before anyone picked up.

Had the chicken curry — which I think is a good dish to judge an Indian restaurant. This is not like Indian chicken curry I am used to and I did not like it as much. — Not spicy(I usually don’t like spicy food, especially too spicy, but this really didn’t have any spiciness at all. Extremely mild) — Consistency of soup instead of stew(All other curries I’ve had are thicker. This is very thin almost like tomato soup) — Big cubes of dry, bland white meat(I prefer dark meat with more flavor, juiciness, and cut better) On the plus side — the prices were not bad, and the place is clean.

I’m a fan. I always order from this place on Grub Hub. The biriyani is awesome. The service is quick and fast. It’s a tad on the expensive side, but I’m willing to throw down for good indian food. I have not visited the actually restaurant yet, it’s on my to-do list.

Traveled to this hood for Easter and boy was it worth it! Luckily I did not check the Unilocal reviews before stepping foot inside because I would have missed out!!! The food was amazing and obviously after reading the reviews while still in the joint, I was compelled to ask the staff if the chef/cook had changed. And music to my ears, they answered yes! So I personally spoke to the chef/cook and I thanked him for the wonderful job he did on our food. I have pix but I’m too lazy now to fetch my camera from my purse so will do so mostly likely tomorrow. Will also update this review. But if you like Indian Food, omg, go here. Try the grilled platter for $ 25! And the Samosa chat. It was amazing!!! Stay tuned

When I come to Curry Point, I usually order the vegetable biryani. My favorite go to dish! It always hits the spot! I love the taste of curry, anise, cloves and other spices mixed into the vegetables and basmati rice. I like the sample salads that come with the meal. When I first came here, I ordered the okra with basmati rice. Delicious. A small place located on Greenpoint ave., it caters to those within interest in exotic foods. The location proves to be a gem: Easy for locals to get to and close by other stores such as C-Town and the local hot spot Vivire. A good spot to go to if you want to bring a casual date, a small group of friends or just take out for yourself.

Just ordered take out from here and what arrived as a goat curry was what I could only describe as a soup with a few pieces of bone, fat and gristle swimming in it. I tasted it against my better judgement and it was as bad as it looked. An abject failure on all possible levels, the nan was underdone but passable, that’s about the best I could say about anything that arrived. Honestly the single worst dish I’ve ever had from a curry place anywhere in the world.

This place is extremely clean, staff extremely friendly and food extremely good. Great for take out or just to pop in for a quick lunch. Plenty of metered parking too never have an issue getting a spot.

Not enjoyable. I ordered mixed vegetables, beef curry and pappadums. Vegetables were ok, undercooked for some but flavour was average, edible. Beef curry was awful. 4 chunks of tough tasteless beef. You need to stew the beef down for a long time in curries this is just basic knowledge. The sauce for the curry was swimming with a layer of oil and sauce had no flavour at all. Pappadums although a generous serve were also very oily. I wish I didn’t have to give a negative review but if you can’t get even a basic couple of dishes right you shouldn’t be running a restaurant.

I was in such a mood for Chicken Tika Masala and decided to order some from here. It was fresh but I felt it lacked some flavor. I was good but not great. I also got the garlic naan which was delicious. I would have to try other dishes to see.

How some folks say that this is their favorite Indian food– is shocking. Not only was this food terrible– my partner(who is Indian) said this is the worst Indian food she has ever had. I ordered the Lamb Korma and it definitely was not that. It was more like a lamb stew– korma is supposed to be creamy. My partner ordered chicken tikka and it tasted like tomato soup water… Not one ounce of flavor. The rice was bland, the chicken samosa was ok and so was the naan. Won’t be ordering from there again.

Curry Point is currently my favorite Indian restaurant in Sunnyside. + The $ 2.00 garlic naan is to die for hence the reason for 5 stars. Fresh thin cut pieces of garlic, seasoning, and basil sprinkled on a toasted and slightly burnt naan with a chewy outer layer. Best item on the menu. Must try. + Chicken, beef, or any meat kabob. Can’t go wrong with the combo menu with kabob, rice, and salad. I’ve tried 4 different combos and they all tasted fantastic, however the meat was overcooked and thick every time. + Note it is best to call in advance to pick up. One time I had to wait 10 minutes for the naan. — Some nights the restaurant is packed and therefore no seating area for those who order to-go. I was awkwardly standing in front of a couple while they were enjoying their meal. Very uncomfortable. — Avoid the Chicken Tikka Masala. I ordered it for lunch and had the runs for a couple days. Perhaps it was just the one time, but I suggest you not to order it.

For this dreaded corner of Greenpoint Ave where many establishments(not named Marabella: ) tend to last less than 6 months, Curry Point has held its ground for two years providing the hood with some solid Indian-Pakistani food. Amongst all of the primarily takeout heavy spots, Curry Point is the most friendly to dine in and is easily the least divey. The interior is quaint and the dishes are very presentable. Seating is a tad limited, but it’s not a bad place for solo diner or a casual bite with a friend. I go primarily for take out. I’m not sure if its truly a Pakistani joint, but my desi friends have been adamant to tell me Curry Point is in no way Southern or Northern Indian fare. This may explain why their version of butter chicken(makhani murgh) or tikka masala tastes a little different. Most of the curry dishes are not of the thick and creamy variety, but more of a watery and soupy concoction. Even the kebabs have a slightly less appealing seasoning and are dry more often than notI haven’t been a huge fan of them as a result, but most of the veggie dishes have been decent. Their sag aloo($ 6) is a nice blend of creamed spinach and potato wedges that goes very well with their soft basmati rice. A veggie samosa($ 2.00) is good from time to time, though it is considerably less hearty than what most other similar establishments might offer. The aloo baigan(potato, eggplant) is probably my favorite dish and the most light. If a meaty dish is what you seek, try the chicken keema, a spicy blend of ground chicken that had me breathing fire when I least expect it. Consider trying some of their preferred dishes(i.e. recommendations) since I find a lot of popular choices at other places tend not to be at all similar here. That’s not to say it’s not good, but people who come with certain expectations may come away disappointed. Similarly with Chinese restaurants, don’t expect a Shanghainese joint to put together a stellar Cantonese /Sichuanese meal. There is definitely some room for improvement and I hope Curry Point sticks around long enough to show it.
