Fist Martial Arts offers MMA, Kickboxing, Boxing and Jiujitsu. It’s a relatively new school but it seems to be picking up. They offer both kids classes and adult classes. The boxing coach is a professional trainer about 10 years boxing experience and makes you work hard but the conditioning is great. This is the first time I’ve taken up boxing/kick-boxing but I like that the school is welcoming to beginners — however I would say it focuses a lot more on conditioning than actual technique. The adult classes also have people of all ages from 16 – 40(and a mixture of guys and girls). The instructors Sam and Danny are very friendly. If you want a great cardio workout try the boxing class, it’s one hour of non stop running, punching, pushups, bicycles, sprawls and pushups. Tony, the trainer was a professional boxer; He offers advice after every class on how to improve your performance, unfortunately the class puts very little focus on technique. Overall, I think this place is good if you are looking to lose weight, get fit, or looking for a family oriented place. If you are looking to be a serious fighter, its probably better to find Minotauro’s gym in Brickell. FYI: The address listed is the old address.
