Chai Thung is my new weekend Thai spot! I’ve ordered delivery from them 3 times so far and each time they did great! Be advised, if you ask for the food spicy, they will make it spicy!!! They won’t short you on this one, trust me. I’ve had the Tom kha soup, drunken noodles, pad Thai, jungle curry, salty fish and Chinese broccoli, egg rolls and dumplings. All of these were 5⁄5 for me. Very fun and full flavors, clearly handmade with a variety of ingredients that just make your mouth water. This place and Thai Victory in North Hollywood are, in my opinion, the two best Thai spots in this part of the Valley. Yum!!!

Just discovered this place for the first time yesterday. I had NO expectations when coming here, but it’s close to north hollywood so it couldn’t be too bad. Boy was I surprised… I don’t know what they call this in english, but they had a large fried fish with orange curry in it. not the coconut curry, but more of a less creamy, light broth sort of curry. The flavor was SPOTON. Sour, lightly sweet, a tad salty… DEFINITELY authentic thai flavor. Chinese broccoli with Crispy pork — This dish was OK. The veggies and meat were good, but the flavor was a little on the light side for me. I prefer this elsewhere. Sour Pork ribs — DUDE, FLAVORWASBOMB. Unique to someone who hasn’t tried it before but it’s kind of like cinigang(a fliipino soup) but done as a garlic-y baked short rib. Very gooooood flavor. Eggplant salad — Can’t go wrong with this, it’s like most other YUM(spicy sour) salads, steamed eggplant with a number of other greens. Garlic fish — comes with some STINKYFRIGGIN fermented fish sauce stuff. but so good!!! We will definitely be back here even tho. it’s FRIGGINFAR from us.

I wish they could get back on EAT24 or any food delivery app because I love their food but they discontinued the service. I can’t even check their menu on the website because it’s linked to EAT24 which deleted this restaurant. Please at least fix your website so I can check what’s on the menu and order by phone.

This place is straight up low key… & right on MYBLOCK! Nestled in between some random businesses in a run down strip mall, you’re almost unsure if the place is even open. Doesn’t look like there’s anyone in there but that’s cause they’re waiting for your hungry ass. Dinner time during the week is usually empty which means I have the whole place to myself. Just us, eating our pad thai & green curry on this formica table, getting a refill on our thai iced tea & then a little to-go box for my noodle leftover. Don’t mess with me or my thai joint! Unless you’re down to go halfers on some of their pad thai. Your Homegirl, Violy

I tried this place last night and ordered chicken yellow curry with Thai iced tea. The Thai iced tea was pretty good. It was really sweet, but they loaded the cup with ice so there wasn’t a whole lot of tea. The flavor of the curry was good, but it was a little too greasy and thin. There was an orange, oily film on the top of the curry when I got it and the pieces of chicken were not all that big. It was mostly potatoes and carrots. Overall, this Thai spot was alright. It is pretty close to where I live so I might come back, but I’ve had better Thai food.

I was meeting a friend driving from Glendale to Fresno so she wanted to stay by the 5 freeway. We both love Thai food so I picked this place that I found on Unilocal that was a block away from the freeway with lots of parking. The place was small and family owned. The employees were very nice and helpful and prices were very reasonable. We ordered the following: Spicy Beef Salad — Great flavor, should have ordered it with tofu. The beef was very tough and had a weird after taste. Chicken Pad Thai — Same thing as our Spicy Beef Salad. I should have ordered it with tofu. The chicken was dark meat and it too had a weird after taste. But the overall taste was very good. I would definitely again but just go vegetarian.

They have free delivery! That was awesome, and very prompt with it too. The reason why I’m giving it only three stars is because of their food. I was craving yellow curry, and this place did not do the trick for me. It was too sweet, and creamy. About an hour after eating, I was so thirsty that I was gulping down a glass of water every 10 minutes. That sign itself shows that this place isn’t the healthiest place. We got the pineapple fries rice, which was a bit deceiving because they only put three chunks of pineapple on top of the fried rice as decoration. All in all, as much as I appreciate their customer service, I won’t be returning.

I’m obsessed with the Tom Yum chicken soup. It’s delicious! I’ve never eaten there but I always order take out and delivery. They never get my order wrong and it’s always just the way I like it. The staff is always friendly too.

The 818 homies took me to this little random nook in Sun Valley. How often am I in Sun Valley? Chances are pretty slim. Perhaps that is about to change. One dish to remember: RADNA, gravy noodles with Chinese broccoli. You can get it with any choice of meat, but pork is probably best. There’s one other Rad Na place that is dear to my heart, which would be found at Thai Room in Burbank. However, the Rad Na here is phenomenal. The consistency of the sauce and the texture of the pan fried flat rice noodles. A perfect intercourse of just simple ingredients. Makes no sense except the fact that I want one right now as I’m writing this. It doesn’t get any better than this except maybe in Thailand. A good approach to Thai food is eating the meal family style. Granted, you can roll deep and order 6 boring Pad Thais but to me, that’s just a waste. We Thais love many flavors in our food and we definitely crave variety. We ordered their papaya salad topped with fried fish as well as their fried fish topped with lots of herbs(tangy, spicy, salty, sweet kick). All tasted real fresh. Both dishes will spark your taste buds. If you can handle some heat, be sure to ask for a higher spicy level. For soup, we had their seafood soup. For greens, we had the Chinese broccoli with pork grinds. . As I stated, you can’t go wrong family style. For 6 peeps, it came out to $ 15 with tip including some drinks. Their Thai iced coffee and teas are on the sweeter side. Keep in mind, we did order two plates of their Rad Na noodles. Not going to lie, I did consider ordering another one and just taking it home with me if I didn’t finish it. I’m going to come back just for this plate.

On my way back there in fifteen minutes! Forgot to mention the generous portions that they give you!!! It’s enough to feed two people(combinations)!!! Not to mention, my friend said that he’s tried all the thai tea around this area and it’s the best!!!

Located in a mixed use strip mall. This place doesn’t look all too pretty inside or out but is a great find. Staff is friendly efficient and articulating. Large menu selections with low prices. Lunch specials are a mix of Chinese and Thai choices at 5.99. An egg roll, salad, soup, rice and entrée. I ordered the red curry. Dish was rightfully spiced to my enjoyment. An appropriate portion dish for lunch. Bill and checks were settled promptly. Good: friendly fast service. Well valued lunch. Bad: minimum charge of 10 dollars on a card.(Can’t really knock the rating — place is a mom and pop shop) Overall I would come back again. Four stars.

I came here with my family since we were looking for a new thai place to try and one of my mom’s friends recommended it to her. The location of this place is not in the best area and the restaurant is definitely not fancy, more of a hole in the wall. We ordered a few dishes(pork jerky, papaya salad with fried catfish, spicy curry catfish, and fish with thai toppings like lemon grass etc). The food came slowly one after the other, but each time it arrived at our table we knew it was just cooked. The catfish papaya salad was great. The papaya salad was the right flavor and consistency and the catfish was nicely fried. The spicy curry catfish was very hot temperature wise like it was just fried. The flavor was just right. The pork jerky was just fried and very tasty. The fish with thai topping was very nicely fried and the flavor was great. The food was excellent. Sadly the restaurant was empty besides our table. Hopefully it becomes more popular. On a side note as we were leaving the restaurant, there was a truck selling fruit for cheap parked in front of the market two doors down. We have never purchased fruit from the back of a truck so we stopped by and ended up buying a few things. Fruit was great overall, so something else to look for if you stop by.

We were driving back from the Bay Area and wanted something right off the freeway. This place is less than half a mile off the freeway so super convenient. It only had 40 reviews at the time we went but I thought we would give it a chance since it had 4 stars. I place my pick up order at 6:02 pm and they said it would be a 25 minute wait — SUPERLONG for Thai food. I got there early but still didn’t get our food till 6:37, so a 35 minute wait!!! Not cool especially since I was in a rush to get to dance. We ordered pad Thai, kung pao tofu, chicken satay, and steamed rice and the total a $ 23.87 including tax. Price is definitely reasonable. Hubby gives chicken satay a 5 but pad Thai was a 3(they forgot to give us lime!!). The kung pao was a 4 — tasty with water chestnuts. Inside is nice but nothing fancy. If you want something quick and casual, it could be good. It is a family owned resto. There were two older ladies in the back cooking the food. And there was a drawer near the cashier labeled«Mom» which also led me to this conclusion. The restrooms are in the back — you have to walk through the kitchen — but at least they have separate single stall restrooms for men and women. However, they had no toilet seat covers and the soap was so watered down, it wouldn’t even lather… Perhaps this explains the B rating from Public Health?
