If you like Chinese food that’s a bit more authentic than Panda Express and others, try this place. The food is pretty good and it has a fun atmosphere since its inside an old train car. My favorites were the pan fried noodles, egg rolls and sweet and sour chicken. That being said, I feel that the restaurant was a little dirty. The staff were very friendly though. This might be our new take out place for Chinese food

A friend recommended this spot so disregarding the reviews here on Unilocal and decided to go anyways. I’ve been here twice, once we actually got seated the other time the wait was 20 minutes long for just a few tables being served at the time, we got tired of waiting and being ignored we left… they walk back and forth ignoring you without saying hello or taking down our names if they are busy. We ordered two plates from the lunch section that described to come with the main of your choice, rice and soup… my son wanted orange chicken so we attempted to order that lunch dish but we’re rudely told by the older man«that’s enough, that’s too much food!» Like if we are putting him out of a home! We are a fit couple so it must have been his laziness kicking in? Also if we don’t finish who cares they still get paid for the food! The food came out like this; three 6oz. Portions of our main dish, three soups, ONESMALLPLATEOFRICE… that’s it. We ended up letting my son eat the rice because the orange chicken was too spicy for him. Above all this, this place is super filthy! I noticed it as we were waiting on my son to finish up his rice. I sat next to the Window and there was packs of dirt, bugs, grease and food particles on the window seal and on the side of the table! It was like a movie where the murderer comes out with a knife and the screeching sound echoes in my mind as my eyes finally coast all the filth! I felt sick and bad that I allowed my son to eat the food that comes out of here!

The food is out standing. We’ve been here a few times and never had a bad dish. The service is good and the workers are nice. The location is train cars and it adds to the experience. The only negative is the seating. It is tight for«fluffy» people. Even with the tight quarter, we continue to recommend this location.

A recently found a baby roach in my tea. They also messed up my order and up charged me for there mistake. I’m sadden to say we will not be returning. We did enjoy the food and owners witty customer service but we can not risk the health concerns. The place has potential but needs serious remodel and cleaning.

Food was okay but the waiter was rude! Had to look for the waiter so I could be seated. When I finally got his attention he asked how many. I told him 8 and he said that was too many. Then he said it would take him 15 min to clean the table. We had already been waiting about 10 min to be seated. Then when we were finally ordering he told us we had already ordered too much and that was it for now! We also asked for water that he never brought. Very bad customer service! I won’t ever go back!!!

Food is good, authentic. It is worth a trip just because of the train wagons and how the seating is. The servings are big enough to share. The waiters are quirky, but nice. Try it out! I really liked their orange chicken.

Located in an area that may seem questionable and in the middle of no where… the food itself was decent. The chowmein – fresh ingredients with great flavors. The garlic chicken – great flavors and a hefty amount of plump, firm mushrooms. The shrimp chop suey loaded with shrimp and fresh veggies. My 4 year old who adores trains really liked the food and the cabooses and cargo caboose… The place is old but has charm – sometimes even the hole in the wall type places are not bad. And then there are the trendiest and cleaner looking of places that lack authenticity. I would go back.

A real disappointment. I’ve had take out before from here and it was pretty good. This time we decided to dine in(3 adults, a 4YR old, and a baby). Well for starters, the greeter seemed really abrupt. There was no comfortable seating available le in the front cart; the back cart was unavailable. Most importantly seating area was filthy! with lots of flies. Needless to say, we left immediately. It seems it’s a hit or miss with this place; probably won’t return.

We found this place by accident. Its a real train its small but food its good. The hosted was taking a nap when we entered LOL. The chef(oriental) came to our table said hi. We ordered for two but servings are for about four. I had to ask for a refill as they won’t offer it. Loved the won ton soup«) beef broccoli, teriyaki, chicken noodles, green been. All was great we will definite go once again.

The best Chinese food around! Great little spot! We enjoyed everything and for 36 bucks we couldn’t have found a better deal! The train is cool too!

This place is a joke. You get better service at McDonald’s Asked for water 5 times and took 20 minutes, was completely ignored the whole time

Don’t be turned off by this place, we nearly walked out! Lol! It smelled kinda weird and it was empty but we decided to give it a try. I mean, it’s a train! Kids were so exited! The server/owner takes some getting used to. At first he was kinda creeping and hovering while we looked at the menu. When we finally ordered he warned us that it was a lot of food. So we were confused… why would you say that and lose money? Plus we only ordered a few dishes. While waiting for the food we discovered that he was actually really funny and kind, very straightforward. Then the food came… oh boy, yeap, we ordered too much. The servings were huge!!! The plates barely fit on the table. We ate leftovers for days! The food is really great, can’t complain! My kids devour the orange chicken and fried rice. We like the beef and broccoli and the chow mein. The bbq pork buns and cream cheese wontons are delish! I know the weird smell will always be there but I just wish it was a little cleaner. Maybe that’s part of the adventure that is Chinese bistro. We have been there 5 times and will be going back again and again.

One of the wildest experiences. Hardly talked to me unless it was to pay bill. Hard a hard time getting my food and beer. Denied me appetizer because it would take too long. Took my girlfriends plate after she ate a quarter of it and put something else down… Then said it was the wrong one Simone else ordered it. Decent food decent price… Get it to go… Live close and second bad experience! 2 stars were for food only!

All I can say is diarrhea for days! Let’s hope you have a strong stomach. Okay, but really… It was run down and in need of a facelift. The place was emp-ty. Red flag! There was a layer of grim on every square inch of everything. The food was fine. Your typical Chinese. But, need I remind you? Okay, okay. Just see above.

After meeting the(extremely kind) man who owns the building that houses this restaurant, I was excited about coming here to enjoy the lunch special on a Friday afternoon. I walked up to the restaurant, and there was a rusted ashtray piled high with discarded food, orange peels, and other non-cigarette trash right next to the doorway, which was rather off-putting. I opened the door, walked into the poorly-lit, somewhat stuffy restaurant, and wondered how long ago the interior of the restaurant been thoroughly cleaned, as the walls, floor, and furniture in the lobby were covered with a thin film of dust-grime. The older, bespectacled gentleman waiting on me was unspeakably rude. I walked in, expecting to be greeted, and was met with an impatient, annoyed«so…what do *you* want?» At that point, I should have just left, but I have eaten many excellent meals at hidden gems with sub-par service and standards of cleanliness, so I stayed and hoped that the service and atmosphere were not representative of the quality of the food. The server seated me at a table covered with a filthy tablecloth that was covered in grime, dirt, and spots of food. I assumed that it hadn’t been washed in ages, and when I looked around, all of the other tablecloths were even more disgusting than the one that covered my table. I looked down at the ancient carpet, and I was appalled at the trail of black dust-grime that connected the hallway, bathroom, and kitchen. I doubt that the carpet had been shampooed at all in the past decade. At that point, I very much wanted to leave. Still, I felt guilty about bailing because I’d already sat down and another(younger, and much nicer) server had already brought me a cup of ice water, fried wonton strips, mustard and generic sweet and sour sauce. I felt too uncomfortable to stay, too hungry to leave empty-handed, and too guilty to leave the place(which was pretty much empty, except for me) without ordering anything, so I ordered a small appetizer(Crab«Rangoon», deep fried wonton wrappers stuffed with cream cheese that are definitely not Burmese in origin, but still a delicious snack) to go. The appetizer was brought to me in about 5 minutes, and my deep fried snacks tasted very average.(So far, I don’t feel sick, but I ate there about an hour ago and I’m not feeling too optimistic.) I walked into this place feeling excited about supporting a local business and finding a family-owned Chinese restaurant in a rather rural area, but I was extremely disappointed. I will never come here again. This restaurant has a lot of charm and potential, and I eagerly await a complete overhaul of this establishment. If you value your stomach(and cleanliness and decent service), I suggest that you take your business elsewhere.

The food here is really good, but the service is schizophrenic. One day, friendly helpful and fun, the next unapologetically inconsiderate. The place is older and a bit run down, it’s in dire need of an update. The food is quite expensive for the ambience and location, but it is tasty. Unfortunately, we will never go back as we have been burned simply one too many times. While looking through reviews of this place, it appears that this is the modus operandi of the establishment. People come love the food, but end up never going back because of the treatment they receive.

I’ve been at this restaurant several times with mixed results, but now based on today’s experience, I will never ever go there or recommend it to anyone, despite how good the food may have been in the past. First off, they have always opened at 11:00AM, which is listed online and even on their take-out menu, yet when I showed up today just before 11:00, employee/owner arrived at 11:00 and told me they don’t open until 11:30AM. I decided to wait on comfortable bench out front(big mistake), and at about 11:20AM, two female customers went in and came back out and I told them the owner/employee told me they don’t open until 11:30AM now, even though it is advertised as 11:00AM(and, by the way, NOPOSTED hours near the front door entrance, which is lame). One of the ladies got tired of waiting, so we went in and sat in the waiting area. The owner/employee wouldn’t even acknowledge us. She and her friend remarked how high the prices are(e.g., veggie lo-mein $ 10.50 and lunch specials at around $ 8.50), she had a limited time for her lunch break and expressed she was unhappy being ignored. At around 11:30AM, two other customers arrived and still no one would greet us. At about 11:35AM, we were all greeted. Since I was one person, I was asked to sit in a small two-seater booth. I am a large man, but not huge, by today’s standards. Only half my ass fit on the booth seat and it was very uncomfortable, so I got up and went to a larger booth. Similar problem there, not enough space between the table and seats for even an average person to fit comfortably. I asked the owner/employee, «Don’t you have a table where I can fit or are they all the same,» and he claimed they were all designed the same way. With my stomach pressing against the table tightly, I got up and said, «No thank you, have a nice day.» This place in no way can accommodate anyone who might be the least bit disabled, let alone larger people, and that is a shame. I’m going to find out if they are violating ADA requirements for public establishments, because I’ve never had to walk out of an establishment because they couldn’t accommodate an overweight person! Now, as I fix some typos in my review, I see pictures on Unilocal where CLEARLY they could have seated me on a chair with a table, but they didn’t offer that to me. For sure, that is discriminatory under California law, so I will be filing a complaint with the appropriate state and federal agencies. Never again!

I’ve always seen this little train restaurant ever since I was a little girl. Today we decided to stop in and try the food. What a pleasant surprise. The Chinese Bistro was fast and friendly. The sampler platter was enough for both of us. I ordered the tangerine chicken, just the right amount of heat and you really could taste the tangerine. There were so many things on the menu we will definitely be back to try some more dishes.

Don’t go to this restaurant. They are the rudest people/owners/workers. They show that they close at 9:30pm on Friday and Saturday nights but when you get in there they close before 9pm. No signs, no one there to let you know and when they tell you they are closed they are very rude and act like you are stupid. It was my first time to ever go to this restaurant. I will never go back and I will make sure everyone I know doesn’t ever have the bad experience that me and my family had there. 3÷13÷15 I had to put a star but I wish I could have put a negative 5 star if that was possible.
