We had no idea that a dog park was over here until today so we decided to come by and check it out. It’s nothing more than a fenced in old baseball field but it’s perfect for letting the dogs run around. I also love that it’s super close and free — no permits required! That’s actually refreshing! They provide bags and picnic tables but that’s about it but it’s all you need! We’ll be back!

This review is for the dog park(Happy Tails) I love this place only because its the only free dog park close by. The only thing that I absolutely dislike is that it is located in a old baseball field, and there is tons of sand still in there. I have a completely white American bull dog and he gets super dirty. I guess it’s a small price to pay but I’m hoping they will fix it up and plant some grass by next summer. Besides the sand part I really enjoy going, the dogs and their owners are very friendly. I take my dog every Saturday(that’s the busiest day) otherwise you might be sitting there alone because it’s still new to the community. Its free for everyone and they provide bleachers and picnic tables there so you can just sit, relax and watch the dogs have a good time. This place really just gives you the bear minimum, but what else do you need? Oh, I forgot to mention one more thing, make sure to bring lots of water because there aren’t any water fountains near by. Hope to see all you dogs lovers that in the area there! Don’t forget to tell your friends, the more the merrier!

Course was mostly in the woods(swamp). Over all the course was very challenging. 60% of the course had water/mud as a path. There were 658 billion mosquito’s living off our blood. Will NEVER play this course again.

I come to Summit Park for the Disc Golf Course. It’s the best spot within a 50 mile radius of Chicago. I don’t mind the 20 – 40(depending on traffic) min drive from downtown Chicago to Summit Park. The disc golf course is a little tuff to find if it’s your first time, but after you see the practice basket, you know your in the right place. I started to come here a couple of years back, i would play 10 — 30 games a summer at summit. I’ve tried other courses in the area, but nothing throws a challenge at me like Summit. I’ve spent years play disc golf in Colorado and Alaska, and played at some of the sickest courses you could imagine. Believe it or not Summit ranks up there with some of my favorite places to play. If it’s your first time check out the course map, and even take a picture with it on your phone. Baskets 1 – 6 are pretty self explaining but just go with the flow. Some of the baskets between 7 – 11 be careful or you’ll be fishing for your disc. The park does a good job of keeping the park clean, and up to date. I’ve met some cool peep from Wisconsin and Indiana on random Saturday mornings there. It’s my city get away for a couple of hours after a long week. If your a local in the city and looking for the best disc golf course then you’ve found it with Summit Park. It’s moderate to difficult course. Good luck if your a beginner.

This review is for the Frisbee golf course. This is my home course. If I have time to toss, I hop on my bike and swing by here and kill off two hours or so. 18 holes through lots of trees. It’s one of the more difficult courses I’ve played. Small area but well constructed. You run the risk of losing multiple discs on 7 and 8 if you can’t muster the dogleft left. Also on 7 and 8 you run the risk of potentially getting shanked by the hobos if you mess with their shanties by the tracks(unfounded theory– those panhandlers on HarlemArcher as well as the Stevenson overpass… I think this is their sleeping spot fyi). 13’s a work in progress but allows you to rip it as does 16. The finishing hole brings you around to 1 and is my personal favorite. Deceptively sweet. Allows multiple replays since the course is rarely patronized, though douchebags’ litterings are around. Replay: Very high.
