I find the review below by Yajaida very surprising. Tony has been cutting and coloring my hair for 30 years or so. He is an absolute magician with curly hair and his entire staff has always been extremely professional, pleasant and welcoming.

I can’t really speak for the negative reviews. But my experience with stylist Lauren and the salon, has always been a positive one. She’s very friendly and professional, and I think that she does a good job since my hair always grows out nicely which is always a mark of a good haircut for me. In fact, I typically only cut my hair every 6 months. I’ve always gotten my hair cut at Bumble in NYC before, but for the cost and the time commitment of doing that, Lauren does a great job right here in Summit! I highly recommend her.

When we arrived to get my little sister’s hair done we met the stylist who was completely unprepared to deal with curly hair. What ensued was a good 20 minutes of negative language and frustration. How there was nothing she could do unless she straighten it first. I tried to defuse the situation as best I could, but the I was met with a very combative attitude. In addition this woman was nonchalantly insulting and brow beating a 14 year old girl on her appearance and playing on all her insecurities. It was crazy to me that she could be so insensitively bullying to the point of bringing my little sister to tears. I made a quick coffee run to calm her down and when I came back in they had their assistant(the woman who washes hair and sweeps the floors) working on the do. Her attitude was very relaxed, treating my little sister like a normal person instead of some leper. The end result was very nice. The stress getting to that point was uncalled for. Ultimately, it would have been far better that the original stylist just admit that her skill set is very very limited. We would have moved on. Instead she tried to force the solution she wanted. Words you should never use in reference to your client: terrible, mess, impossible, can’t, horrible, frizz, disaster. Maybe an easier rule of thumb, don’t make your client cry. I would not recommend this salon to people with hair that is too thin, hair that is too thick, hair that is too straight, hair that is too curly… or anyone who doesn’t want to be made to feel terrible about themselves.

I have been going to this Salon for 20 years and Tony and his team have never been anything but fantastic!!! The service is professional, timely, friendly and of the very best quality time and time again! The offer excellent products for sale without any pressure. Great location in downtown Summit, extended hours and I’ve honestly never been in a cleaner salon. On top of that, the décor is beautiful. This really is as good as it gets.
