Master Yoo’s Summit Martial Arts Center

I have two children in Master Yoo’s classes for over four years and I have seen the benefits of his teachings. He has helped my children grow and become very respectable young people. If I had to do it all over again or even travel to this school I would definitely do it again.

Grand Master Yoo is a wonderful man, and is amazing with children. He is dedicated and has classes six days a week. Grand Master Yoo is also certified as a seventh degree black belt with Kukkiwon. Over the years Grand Master Yoo has been able to certify many black belts. He even works with autistic children, and runs most of the classes himself.

Lesson learned– NEVER sign a 1 year contract! I did just that for one of master Yoo’s location (Park Ridge) and the master there left for Korea last December and hasn’t returned. Meanwhile, the school cancelled the 12:30 classes that my son attended and refused to refund the 7 month balance they owe me. I had no choice but to take Master Yoo to court because he refused to give me a refund or negotiate some kind of deal. Court was bad enough but he’s also playing games. He didn’t show up for the first court date and requested another one… he didn’t show up for the second one either. One word… Karma. Did I also mention that the testing fee is $ 55 and you have to buy breaking boards (pieces of wood) for $ 2−4/each…you need two. My kid got tested every month so that’s an additional $ 600+ a year on top of the tuition. Crook!

Grand Master Yoo has classes for ages 2.5 and up. He is very special because he not only teaches classes 6 days a week, he also gives private lessons to special needs children. He has been teaching in Summit for more than 10 years and is dedicated to all of his students. The other masters come from Korea and teach alongside him. They also host an annual championship where any student can compete. All in all, this is a great activity where you can meet many new people.
