I really don’t see how this place is so bad. Service is not particularly fast, but everyone seemed friendly. I also had absolutely filthy silverware, but my server quickly replaced it. My husband and I both got sandwiches and fries, and my turkey panini was pretty darn good. They did put the dressing on the side, which I thought was kind of weird, as it required me to dismantle the sandwich to add the dressing. It was also a tiny bit less warm than I would have liked. But the fries were good and the pie is AMAZING. Seriously, I almost gave four stars just for the apple pie — the crust is really thick and buttery, and the filling is just… out of this world. Literally better than my mom’s.

The only reason people actually from Summit ever go to this place is because it’s open 24 hours. Every single time I am there, they are understaffed and the fee staff they have there tend to get really annoyed at and pissy with all of their drunk customers(as if they expected sober people to show up to a diner at 3 am). The food sucks and so overpriced. I swear to god if someone opened a new 24 hour diner in Summit then this place would go out of business. Only giving one star because you can’t give no stars. The prestige diner in New Prov is the best diner in the area, fuck Broadway

This is one of my favorite places to go to. I always order chocolate chip pancakes and a side of sausage. The pancakes here are amazing. The staff is also super friendly and some of them recognize me and remember my order even though I don’t come as often anymore. Their western omlette is very good as well.

I had a terrible experience here. Although the food and waitress were good, my order came out about 20 minutes after everyone else’s. Everyone else was doing eating. All I ordered was a fruit bowl, which requires no cooking. The delay was unacceptable. However, in their favor, they did not charge me for it.

Honestly, I really think this place should be rated higher. I came in with my husband on a random Friday night at 3AM(we are night owls) when everything in our town was closed. They have an extensive menu and you expect the food to be tasteless like most diners, but this was different. The food taste fresh and service was prompt! I ordered an omelette and my hubs ordered a waffle with sunny side eggs and sausage. It took approximately 7mins from when I ordered to when the food came!!! We were very surprised considering there was a table of about 12 college kids and three other tables of two and four. My omelette was great and my hubs inhaled his food! The service here is also great and our server Ash was amazing!!! This is a really great pick and you really can’t go wrong!

I’ve only had breakfast or sandwiches/wraps here both take out and dine in. Service has always been on point and the food is always good.

Today is my first time here! I was sat pretty fast I came in for lunch! My server greeted me in a timely manner! I ordered there Meatloaf with mashed potatoes and a vegetable! I was never asked what type of vegetable I wanted! So they just gave me broccoli! The food came out very fast to fast to be honest! The meatloaf was microwaved and the mashed potatoes are instant! Everything needs seasoning! It is very bland! It was not very hot as it should be for just one person! The place is not very packed seems pretty slow to me for lunch time! Broccoli is frozen not fresh! The server is very tentative and did check on how it all was! The meatloaf was very dry if there was not gravy it would be really bad! The salad was not great either when I started looking at the lettuce it had brown ends! Looking at the blinds I will agree with a previous Unilocaler they definitely need cleaning! The place has a lot of areas that are neglected! I see old napkins on the floor on a table that is ready to be reseated! It is actually making me concerned now that I am really looking around on what the kitchen might look like if the«front of the house looks like this». Even looking up at the heating/Ac ducts they have what looks like mold growing on it what now really concerns me! I am actually stopping eating due to being so unsure of cleanliness of the diner! Even the speakers that are attached to the ceiling are Dirty! I would not recommend this place to anyone until they do a huge cleaning overall on the place! This is a place I can not believe the board of health would pass! If they would take the time to fix some of this stuff it would probably help ! The bottom of the glass under the blinds has so much dirt under it they might need #ChefRobertirvin or #ChefRamsey to help bail them out soon at this pace! Joshua was my server he did a great job! When I asked for a manager I was told Mario is praying at Lunch time today! The cashier that was there did not really speak English he stated to me! If the owner still reads Unilocal she may want to look into the stuff I posted about her restaurant!

I was in the area for work, starving so I came in for a burger. I sat down and ordered, no looking at menu. As I started using my phone I noticed the disgusting dirty wood blinds with thick dust and ketchup on them, eww. Then my burger came in 5 minutes. It was served on a very small non-toasted bun. It came out way too fast but I took one bite, disgusting! I called waitress over and asked if it was cooked to order, she was clueless. Then manager came over and claimed it was cooked to order. Impossible! It was not hot, no flavor, precooked. Repulsive. Worst diner ever.

This place is still ok. But I think that Linda should have a mandatory staff meeting and make sure everyone understands their job. This way it will get up to par again.

One would think that living in the diner capital of the world, which is NJ, the competition would spur some excellent grub. There are diners everywhere but to my surprise most fail to meet the mark. The Broadway diner has attentive service, clean tables and plenty of choices on the menu. However, the staple meatloaf was dry, texture was mealy and zero of the unctuous flavor that we all expect from diners. The whipped potatoes were too wet and thin. Burgers were overcooked and everything was under seasoned. I was also told by our server that many of the items on the menu are not even made on the premises but at other locations than shipped there. Huh? What the… Who does that? It’s a bloody diner, which should cook everything on the premises. Totally disappointed with the lack of respect to the ingredients and the diner concept.

Poor customer service and mediocre food with relatively high prices are a bad combination. I tried this place 3 separate time and wanted to like it each time, only to be disappointed.

My husband visited this diner with my mother-in-law and infant son on Thursday, and I’m shocked that a place like this can survive in such a great area. Here is what my family experienced: 1) The grilled cheese from the kid’s menu(that was given to my infant son) was prepared with spicy pepper jack cheese. This was not stated on the menu, and my baby was up all night with a stomachache(we didn’t realize the cheese was spiced until trying a bite after my son finished his half-it was so hot it left an adult’s mouth on fire.) 2) The lettuce in my mother-in-law’s salad was unclean. This is unacceptable. We won’t return.

Quite possible the worst diner in Summit. Found broken glass in my teacup, the service was horrible, my sons burger bun were two different different sizes(unbelievable) AND our food was cold. Absolutely the worst. Linda W. Of Management. I was in the diner Sunday October 11 at 11:30am. Honestly it was a third chance I’ve given Broadway diner to get it together. I’ve grown up in Summit and in the past it seems the food was excellent, now it seems cold, rushed, eggs drenched in oil, uncooked hash browns. It’s just been going downhill.

The pancakes really are all they’re cracked up to be. The service can be hit or miss, especially on a busy weekend morning /early afternoon. They’re very child-friendly and have«Mickey Pancakes» which are always a hit. In the fall months, they have pumpkin pancakes that are to die for. Honestly I haven’t tried much else on the menu, and we’ve been coming here for years. It’s definitely our«go-to» for pancakes though. Parking can be a bit of a debacle, but we always find something. A nice touch is that they offer free, fresh, flavored coffee with free refills while you’re waiting!

So I’ve driven past this diner for over a year now and I knew that someday I would just have to come in and experience the claimed«World’s Best Pancakes». I had been putting it off for a while, but I finally caved and stopped in a week ago and I have to say, they were some of the worst pancakes I’ve ever had. I tried the cinnamon pancakes with some coffee and while the pancakes were hot and came out quickly, that doesn’t offset the fact that they were undercooked and still a little batter-y for my taste. They also tasted like cardboard and I haven’t figured out how that can be, even after being drenched with butter and syrup. The coffee, not wanting to be left out, was very bland and tasteless even after multiple creamers and sugar(and this is a guy who’s used to drinking Folgers at work). The service was fine, but that doesn’t make up for terrible food. I would not recommend this place to anyone and there are much better diners in the area. World’s Best Pancakes? Methinks not.

I unfortunately had the absolutely worst burger ever… Would have liked to have given a better review to a local business but both friend and I agreed the greasiest burgers ever… bad grease, not the delicious kind. Had pancakes one time but they were raw… sh

I can’t believe I willingly went to a 2.5 star restaurant. Desperate times called for desperate measures and because it was already pretty late, Broadway Diner was one of the only options. We got an order to go to bring back to our hotel. As expected and honestly why I think diner’s ultimately don’t serve the best food, you could order literally anything. The menu was 12 pages, full of your favorite breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. I opted for a basic pesto chicken panini, which comes with fries AND onion rings! It took about 15 minutes for them to prepare everything, and we were on our way. My sandwich honestly wasn’t as bad as I originally thought. The flavors were tolerable, although it was a huge mess to eat. The pesto oil got all over the sandwich and my hands, and the filling kept spilling out over the sides. Napkins were futile, and I accepted the fact my hands were out of commission for the remainder of the meal. The fries were also just meh. The onion rings were too soggy and soft that I didn’t bother eating the breading after the first one. My experience wasn’t that awful, but it stinks there aren’t as many late night options in the area. Good luck to all you future diners!

A-OK. I’d go Summit Diner over Broadway, but since Summit Diner is always mobbed if you catch it at a bad time, Broadway isn’t a bad local alternative. Came here for a brunch with my wife one morning, and we got lunch orders since it was later in the am. The service was actually really good — the waitress was really friendly and amicable. The food itself also wasn’t bad(Chicken Caesar Wrap for myself), but it wasn’t the best. It’s just average as far as I’m concerned. Don’t get me wrong — a 3⁄5 means I’d still come here when in need of a diner breakfast in town, but it wouldn’t be a go-to. Summit Diner still holds the crown.

I used to LOVE Broadway Diner, but today was an eye opener for me. I’ve never had as bad of an experience at any other diner. I ordered a ham and cheese omelette and what I received was a runny, undercooked egg blanket minus the cheese. I’m talking undercooked beyond belief, not my right order, awkward egg sheet with ham tossed in it. They were super busy, and all the staff members were friendly other than our waiter, who we couldn’t even flag down to let him know my order was wrong and gross. He dropped off our food and disappeared. We’ll stick to Brookside diner from now on.
